The inn is very historic and the sitting areas by the river are wonderful. They are very dog friendly and you will get to meet the two resident dogs.

Amazing staff and stay! The room was very cute and clean. The location is the best being directly on the river and walking distance to everything in town. The homemade breakfast every morning was amazing. So convenient that there is a restaurant and bar on site that makes great cocktails. Owner and staff were very accommodating to request and needs. Looking forward to returning.

This gem on the Paluxy River was a delight Relaxing and extremely dog friendly with the most gracious of hosts. Breakfast every morning was a delight and the tavern/restaurant was outstanding! No tv in the small rooms but it was not missed and there’s WiFi if you must. The town of Glen Rose is quaint and lovely. So if you find yourself looking for a place to stay in the area, I’d definitely recommend Inn OnThe River.

I loved the hospitality of the owner. She was very attentive and great company too. The food was amazing. I love that there is a tavern on the property. Excellent staff.

I noticed a few things in and around the bathroom that needed attention, and also noticed at breakfast that there seemed to be a shortage of sugar on hand when requested. The gazebo outside was also roped off, I am guessing for repairs.

An absolutely delightful stay. Very well behaved four legged hosts, and a charming two legged innkeeper! The food is outstanding and there is a game and puzzle closet available, that also includes a few books. A word of advice: the stairs to the second floor are in excellent condition, but if climbing stairs isn’t for you - request a downstairs room. We were unaware of this when making our reservation, but they were able to move us to a ground-level room. Highly recommend

We loved our stay at the inn! Our room was clean, staff was kind and helpful and the grounds are beautiful, not to mention the excellent breakfast! Nice spaces to enjoy outside too!

Clean, reasonable, great river views, peaceful and serene even. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel is not a new structure, everything works efficiently, but the sound barrier is nonexistent. Ie our room was right by the patio door.

This place was AMAZING! The house is actually a historical marker. Great story behind it. It’s 105 years old so it creaks ALL. THE. TIME. But I thought that just added charm. Very quiet and peaceful. The staff were so friendly. They allow dogs but I didn’t see one hair on anything. Rooms are small but just perfect for 1 or 2 people. They probably have bigger rooms, I’m just describing mine. Breakfast is part of the price and ya’ll…it was 5 star worthy! Big portions and not at all what I was expecting. There is even a tavern behind it. Right on the river and very central to downtown.

I guess I wasn't upbeat enough at check-in. Large dogs in the lobby I didn't pet the dog or gush about how much I love dogs. I like dogs as much as the next guy, but I don't think the check in lady thought that was enough. She didn't like me. The next morning at 6am there was what sounded like a radio alarm clock that went off -- in the room across the hall --blaring country music loud enough to wake up the whole place. That went on for about 20 minutes and then there was an insanely loud beeping sound coming from the room across the hall. Obviously no one was in there. Someone had set the alarm. Humm. Just because your paranoid doesn't mean their not out to get you. I swear she set those alarms and left them to go off. Oh -- and the whole hallway upstairs smelled like wet dog.

The urine smell in the hallway was so strong it hurt your eyes and you had to hold your breath. Not sure if the two dogs inside was the cause but nursing homes smell better. For the price of over $175 per night, unacceptable.

what a great place to stay so centrally located in the middle of the main street of Glen Rose. Very friendly staff, very comfortable and homey, the backyard right on the river is amazing. But it is an inn, built I think in the early 1900s. Therefore if you are on the second floor you are going to be going up the stairs. Something to think about for older people, or if you have a lot of luggage.

Very cozy with nice grounds. There are no TV's in the rooms, which we did not mind but may not be right for everyone. The bed did not have a very good mattress, so if you have a bad back the more predictable mattresses of a hotel chain may be better.

The street out front is very busy day and night. Was pretty noisy at night trying to get to sleep. Pillows were better than the bed. Overall nice place

Lovely, sweet inn and so close to downtown Glen Rose. Welcoming and friendly staff. The cool breezes under the shade trees near the water were the perfect place to sit and read or just watch the water go by. Staff was so accomodating and helpful. Rooms were large and quiet.

The property was charming and had a relaxing vibe. I enjoyed being greeted by their fur baby! Pillows were a bit too fluffy. Keep in mind no frills room (no tv, fridge, cushy chair, coffee) but very cozy.

Very nice and quiet location. Excellence place to unwind. Room was a comfortable size. We stayed in the Garden Suite which offered a nice sunroom facing the river. Very friendly staff. Town Square is a short walk about 2 or 3 blocks. Love the historical feel.

Staff was amazing. They were so friendly, they made us feel like family. They breakfast was amazing. The Inn was beautiful and had such lovely historical touches. The bed was so comfortable. Loved getting to have some puppy lovings in the morning with our coffee before breakfast.
Staff was amazing. They were so friendly, they made us feel like family. They breakfast was amazing. The Inn was beautiful and had such lovely historical touches. The bed was so comfortable. Loved getting to have some puppy lovings in the morning with our coffee before breakfast.

I guess I wasn't upbeat enough at check-in. Large dogs in the lobby I didn't pet the dog or gush about how much I love dogs. I like dogs as much as the next guy, but I don't think the check in lady thought that was enough. She didn't like me. The next morning at 6am there was what sounded like a radio alarm clock that went off -- in the room across the hall --blaring country music loud enough to wake up the whole place. That went on for about 20 minutes and then there was an insanely loud beeping sound coming from the room across the hall. Obviously no one was in there. Someone had set the alarm. Humm. Just because your paranoid doesn't mean their not out to get you. I swear she set those alarms and left them to go off. Oh -- and the whole hallway upstairs smelled like wet dog.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It felt more like a B&B than a hotel. We were there for a hiking event as were many other guests. The staff went above and beyond with a special breakfast served earlier than the normal breakfast hours.

As I read in the reviews before staying there, Pam does do everything including the menus for the inn and the Tavern. But more importantly, Pam is very giving and has offered help to many in need especially during COVID. She also knows alot about the community and answered many questions that we had. We loved hearing her stories!

what a great place to stay so centrally located in the middle of the main street of Glen Rose. Very friendly staff, very comfortable and homey, the backyard right on the river is amazing. But it is an inn, built I think in the early 1900s. Therefore if you are on the second floor you are going to be going up the stairs. Something to think about for older people, or if you have a lot of luggage.

Amazing staff and stay! The room was very cute and clean. The location is the best being directly on the river and walking distance to everything in town. The homemade breakfast every morning was amazing. So convenient that there is a restaurant and bar on site that makes great cocktails. Owner and staff were very accommodating to request and needs. Looking forward to returning.

Highly recommend this place. A charming inn with a peaceful view of and access to the river. Beautiful old trees and lots of places outside to enjoy. The room was clean. Bed and shower outstanding. The included breakfast is like no other we’ve experienced. We were waited on at our table with river view and the food was amazing. Almost has a bed & breakfast feel. Also has a tavern with wonderful food.

Lovely, sweet inn and so close to downtown Glen Rose. Welcoming and friendly staff. The cool breezes under the shade trees near the water were the perfect place to sit and read or just watch the water go by. Staff was so accomodating and helpful. Rooms were large and quiet.

Very nice older Inn on the river. Very relaxing to walk down by the river or have a seat and watch it flow by. Half a block to downtown square, Sexton Feed Mill, Snyders is next to the Inns parking lot. The location can’t be beat. Breakfast was good and all the coffee you can drink.

This place has so much history and the aesthetic is subtle and pleasing to the eye. It has a slight rustic feel, and each room has a guest book with entries as far back as 1994. The owner is very kind and accomodating, she has two of the sweetest pups living there, and her menu changes daily. Breakfast is included with the stay and for lunch and dinner there is a tavern that shares the same property as the inn and it overlooks the river. This is definitely going to be one of our go-to places from now on.

A great place for rest and relaxation. The food was great. Easy walk to the downtown square for shopping and an ice cream treat at the Shoo Fly. The owners cat and dog are quite friendly and may try to convince you to share a bite at breakfast.

This is a great place to get away from the every day hustle and bustle. No TV. Sit by the river and watch the wildlife. The included breakfast was nice (home cooked, not prepackaged) and outside the ordinary. They only issue I had (which was minor) was that my room was at the corner of the building and did not get a consistent Internet connection (I just used my phone for a hot spot). This would not keep me from staying there again. Besides, it is a historic old building that ties back to ancestors on both my wife's and my own familes. Cool place that provided a relaxing stay.

Amazing pit stop on our road trip!! The most pet friendly stay I have ever had! Ms. Pam was an excellent and attentive hostess! She made us a wonderful, hesrty and healthy breakfast. The restaurant/tavern in premises was super cool with great service and amazing sandwiches! Have an adult Dr. Pepper! They have three kayaks for river fun!
