Villas of Hatteras Landing by KEES Vacations

Upon arrival the check in process was terrible. We never received any check in instructions, no unit #, no access code and the property did not have a person on site for assistance. We ended up having to call customer service to obtain any information about arrival, unit and access codes. Once we got to our room there was an immediate smell of cigarette smoke and it was musty. GROSS!! The curtains in the window at the front door area & main outside walkway are paper thin and provided no privacy from anyone walking by. Which our unit was directly across from the heavily trafficked pool access and grilling area. In addition, the back sliding door in the bedroom did NOT LOCK at all!! It had a plank of wood that was lodged in the slider to hold the door shut! This is a major safety concern! Bathroom has a hole in wall. lso there is a dehumidifier in the main living area that wasn't functioning. We determined it needed to be dumped. When we pulled it out it was full of water and MOLD!! The fridge, while yes we were notified on the papers inside the unit that it takes 24 hrs to cool items, this fridge should be replaced with a proper working fridge that cools consistently and is useable for guests upon arrival. For what we paid for this unit, this is all Completely unacceptable. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The only thing positive I do have to add is the friendly resident there that attempted to assist us while we were trying to figure out our arrival instructions.

Location was great. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Check-in was a bit confusing and a bit of a pain. Apparently I was supposed to contact them hours in advance to find out how to check in. I never received a passcode or email about how to check-in beforehand. The office was closed when I arrived. After talking to two people on the phone I was given a pass code. The door lock was testy. The code had to be put in a few times before opening and locking the door was sometimes difficult as well. This unit could use a new locking system. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Everything about this place was perfect. We'll decorated, fully equipped, amazing location, amenities.... Everything. Just change the shower curtain. Nobody liken to bath with mold. (see picture). Other than that, immaculate. Great stay.

It was nice . Priced right. Pool is nice. Place was good size kind of had a strong Lysol smell though. There's no one that works in the office you have to call a number on the office door to get your room number and the code to your room. Would have been nice to get a text for that info but they helped me get that info once I called. But I would stay again

Hatteras Village is my favorite destination. It is the quietest area of the island. These condo;s sit next door to the Village shopping center, the ferry, and ramp 55. Perfect for a couple. I personally highly recommend.
