The place is historic and maintains that atmosphere. Everyone is friendly, breakfast was great. The beds were extremely comfortable. My only reservation about staying there in the near future is the construction noise that begins at 7am. If you are staying soon ask for a room on the pool side opposite of the construction area.

This hotel is like taking a step back in time! It really is charming! Unfortunately, the pool is currently closed due to a leak. And the pull out bed was not at all comfortable. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good. I believe everything was made from scratch (gravy & biscuits especially). We loved hanging out on the front “porch” area in the rocking chairs in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine at night. It was the perfect way to wind down after a busy day.

Lovely experience - a step back in time with modern amenities. We enjoyed the rockers by the fireplace on the porch. The full southern breakfast was especially good. Walkable to virtually everything in Gatlinburg and an easy drive into the National Park. Included parking was a huge benefit! We'll definitely be back!

Have been to Gatlinburg so many times and always wanted to stay here due to the location and how cute it looked! Only issue was I wish we would have known major work was being done on 2nd floor was quite loud when u wanted to sleep in.

This hotel have the best staff, they are so kind, hard working, and attentive. The breakfast is amazing! The hotel is exceptionally clean, however the smell/odor is just too strong. It is an old house, musky smell that hits you as soon as you walk in the lobby and into your room then even home with you. It’s very strong and can be aggravating, especially when the hotel is so well kept and cozy. We would love to stay here again but we know we will never be able to due to being sensitive with allergies etc that the “old musky” smelll is just too much.

The carpet in Room 107 was disgusting. It was so dirty that a residue needed to be washed from our feet and stained socks. The remaining property was fine. Courteous and friendly staff. Nice breakfast.

The staff were very nice. The breakfast provided was good. They had a good selection. The beds were hard as a rock. I expected rustic, but this was beyond. The carpet did not appear to have ever been changed from the opening of the hotel. It definitely was not vacuumed prior to us getting there as there were candy wrappers and loose change in the floor. The floors were not level. The furniture leaned because of the unlevel floors. The bathroom was the only part of the room that appears to have been updated at all. There were very limited electrical outlets. Only 2 I found in the main room and the one by the bed was behind the bed and not easily accessible. The rooms around the reception desk were rustic but decorated nicely. The best part of the hotel was the location. Walk out the front door and onto the main strip of shops in downtown. I’m sorry to say I would not recommend this hotel as I definitely would not stay here again.

I always check every place I stay for bugs. And this hotel was COVERED with stink bugs. It was so disgusting. They had their maintenance guy come in and clean them. They offered no compensation and honestly did not care one bit. They just said they didn't have other rooms. And even their maintenance guy said he'd never seen so many bugs. Thankfully I didn't find bedbugs. If I had, we would have left regardless. But we only needed to sleep a few hours before heading to our next destination. On top of that, it looks like this place hasn't been updated in 30 or 40 years. Whatever you do, pay more and stay somewhere else!!!

Perfect location right on the strip in Gatlinburg. To us personally there is no hotel in a better spot than this! The inside of the hotel really does need some work/renovation done badly. Calling it "historic" is just putting glace on the old, outdated and obsoleted inside. It was super clean but by the smell you can clearly tell that everything was not "historic" but just super old

The location of this hotel on the strip cannot be discounted, however the rooms are in need of renovation. The bed was uncomfortable and the four foot fluorescent light over the headboard of the bed was so bright and jarring. Only stay here if you want the location.

Excellent location; comfortable bed; nice breakfast. Really liked the balcony & rocking chairs. Having a fridge in the room would have been really helpful also having screens on the patio sliders to keep out bugs would be good.

Overall, we had a decent two night stay at the Gatlinburg Inn. Our room was on the small side, the bed was a bit too soft for your tastes and the room was dark, in large part because of the dark paneling and electrical outlets were at a premium. On the plus side, it was clean, the bathroom had been updated and the room came with a balcony. The walls are filled with history of the hotel and there are several nice sitting areas if you want to get out of your room, including a front porch. The breakfast provided was a bit below average as hotel breakfasts go. If you want a hotel centrally located in the heart of Gatlinburg with some history, The Historic Gatlinburg Inn is if for you. If you want a modern hotel with large comfortable rooms and the latest convenience, you might want to look elsewhere.

We loved being right in the middle of the parkway and walking distance from everything! Great Breakfast, plentiful and filling. Facility is well maintained except when you walk in the hallway the floor feels uneven and the way the ceiling is throughout is kinda creepy. I do wish that there could be 2 particular improvements to the rooms which is to add a mini fridge and the beds are as hard a rock! We enjoyed our stay for the most part but did not aleep well at all due to how hard the bed were.

I liked the historic nature of the hotel. The staff were very nice and professional. The breakfast area is large and the food is good. The bathrooms have been remodeled and are very nice. There isn’t much counter space, though. The room was musty smelling. There are no lamps. Only an overhead light and a light above the bed. The rooms have actual keys and ours was hard to open.

Please remember that this is a historic hotel built in 1937. Location is everything here, however this is NOT a soundproof hotel. You can hear literally everything. So, if you are a light sleeper like me, you will not rest here! But staff was amazing, breakfast, and location great!!!!

The location was perfect for the entrance to the Smokies! Enjoyed restaurants like Calhoun’s, as well as the Smoky Mountain Brewery that were walkable from the inn. The breakfast that was included was great (eggs, bacon, biscuits, homefries, coffee, juice, etc.). Room was very clean with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. What is keeping me from giving a five star review was that the younger male employees at the desks were not the most friendly upon check-in and walking into the inn later at evening/night (5 -10pm). The women running the desk in the daytime hours were delightful. Overall, would stay again due to proximity to the park.

The location was perfect for the entrance to the Smokies! Enjoyed restaurants like Calhoun’s, as well as the Smoky Mountain Brewery that were walkable from the inn. The breakfast that was included was great (eggs, bacon, biscuits, homefries, coffee, juice, etc.). Room was very clean with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. What is keeping me from giving a five star review was that the younger male employees at the desks were not the most friendly upon check-in and walking into the inn later at evening/night (5 -10pm). The women running the desk in the daytime hours were delightful. Overall, would stay again due to proximity to the park.

Breakfast and that staff was fantastic! However the front desk staff was useless. Had a child run back and forth above us for 4 mornings and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Absolutely miserable to be woke up at 5am everyday.

Stayed here for a week in early February, and I’m a fan. It’s old and historic, as advertised, and though my room looked like a scene from a 1970s movie (possibly A Walk in the Spring Rain), it was comfortable and clean – cleaned every day, in fact, which is more than I get with my Marriott Platinum membership. I stayed here because of its history and proximity to the park, but as a first-time visitor to Gatlinburg, I came to really appreciate its central location on the strip, which gets choked with cars and crowds on the weekend, even in winter. Friendly staff, generous breakfast spread, and rocking chairs on my balcony reinforced the sense of southern comfort.

Its history is interesting, but that was about the only thing. The front desk staff (except for the older lady) was lazy and totally disinterested in the guests. The Inn was built in 1937 - so was the carpet. Dark and dank premises. Needs some color and liveliness. Felt like a morgue. Excellent location for the shopping strip.

So my wife and I booked on Expedia for our vacation. We stayed from April 24 through April 28 and I can tell you that I was not impressed at all. Our room 261 was right where the char lifts up the mountain was and people yelling until 10 at night is not cool. When we got here on the 24th and checked in the receptionist was too busy on her phone to even greet us. She was more worried about her conversation than she was with us. The whole time we stayed we never was greeted by staff and no staff member ever said hello or good morning to us. Another thing the beating and hammering from the construction guys below us was annoying as well. The breakfast was cold and you were only allowed one plate and the staff that was in charge of it watched how much you took. I will say the only good thing about this hotel was walk ability around Gatlinburg. It’s right in the middle of everything and that was great. I would not recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet or if you want friendly staff. The price I paid I would have been better off at another hotel

The Gatlingburg inn was a lovely hotel in a prime location in gatlingburg, the decor was dated and added to the hole experience. Very clean and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location and very nice staff. Hotel is historic, so it does not have fancy amenities, but we loved it. It is clean and the breakfast was excellent.

Our family stayed here for the first time and absolutley loved it . Staff was super friendly , the look and feel of the hotel was like being wrapped in a warm blanket. The Complimentary breakfast is the best we've ever had! Eating breakfast with a mountain view every morning just can't be beat ! Thanks to all of the staff of the Gatlinburg Inn.

The Gatlinburg Inn is a vintage treasure. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. It’s a great place to get away and relax whether it be sitting on the rocking chairs or relaxing by the pool. Location is ideal for walking to downtown Gatlinburg amenities.

Room was exactly as we expected! Clean and comfortable! Tv control didn’t work and within 5 minutes it was fixed! Staff was warm and welcoming! Breakfast was filling and good! Full breakfast every day! Would definitely stay here again!! Within walking distance to all the things on the main drag in Gatlinburg!

Had a wonderful 3 night stay! Superb location to get into Smoky Mountain National Park ! Fantastic breakfast ! Delicious ! Homemade bread (strawberry and blueberry) and sweet tea as well as a terrific variety of scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage. You could eat enough to fuel you all day ! Staff super and friendly. We all enjoyed the rocking chairs out front as well as the easy access to Gatlinburg ! Parking was excellent and secure. Chocolate chip cookies at night were a nice surprise. Highly recommend ! Will be back !
