To begin with we checked in and they said no indoor pool or hot tub. Okay it happens, then no hot water to shower they didn't say anything about that part. It was an okay room but smaller then it looks in pictures.

The pool and hot tubs were closed with no warning and we booked just three days ahead. Shower water stopped running in the middle of a shower. Faucet water ran only cold with a weak stream. Old technology tv. Staff was friendly.

Overall I'm glad we picked this hotel. The staff at the hotel were super nice! The floor in our room was a bit squeaky, but we barely heard anything from the floor above us. The pool was a very comfortable temperature and the sauna felt good. They had a heavy snow early on the day we checked in, so we were glad to have a lower level to park in!

The property was dated, but that added to the charm! Very cozy, mountain feel with clean rooms and very clean indoor pool and hot tub. Also had a lot of things to do in the lodge (pool table, air hockey, foosball, video games). We'll definitely return when we're in the area!

The room was small and the "kitchenette" was two electric stove top burners with a recirculating hood that was about 10 inches above the burners, but it worked for cooking mac and cheese and pancakes! The room was clean and the indoor pool, jaccuzi, and mega lodge -even with the outdated and some broken arcade machines- was super fun for the family. I would stay here again in a heartbeat to be 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain and Hawks Nest tubing.

The location is good for Boone or Banner Elk. Room was clean but outdated & carpet old. More hooks or rack in the bathroom would be helpful. Also bring your own coffee, none in the room. If your near the main entrance it's noisy. And the hairdryer didn't work properly.

The staff was friendly and parking was easy. The property is beyond repair. It just needs to be demolished and build new. Carpet, flooring, furniture, fixtures. All of it looks decades old. Clean- yes but very old and run down.

The property is dated, but clean and a good place to stay. The appliances in the kitchen are literally from the early 80s, but they still work. The TVs are up to date. The room was clean, the pool was clean, but everything was dated. Overall I would stay here again, but not before looking at other options.

The property was quiet peaceful, parking and check in and out was easy. We stayed here on our Honeymoon 28 years ago and have been back several times since. However, it could use some updates especially the bed and pillows. Our room AC was not on when we got there so we had to turn it on and cool the room down which took a while since it was July. The floors seemed to be uneven and carpet was dated.

The place was lovely and every member of the staff was processional and helpful. I arrived late and the keys were left inside the box. The security guy came out right away when I called. The only problem was the noise from the upper floor Thank you for such a pleasant stay.

Loved it! Hotel is quaint, very clean. It has a nice pool and hot tub. Laura at the deal was excellent, friendly, and has superior customer service skills. The accommodations are great, like little apartments! I will definitely be coming back!

The check-in process wasn't good. Site said check-in was after 4. Got to the lodge and after looking around quite a bit found a sign that said checking in after 4, call security at a number.

This was a nice place to stay in. I didn't like it that sometimes there was no staff there, which is rather strange. But the rooms had stuff for cooking, a stove.

The location is good for Boone or Banner Elk. Room was clean but outdated & carpet old. More hooks or rack in the bathroom would be helpful. Also bring your own coffee, none in the room. If your near the main entrance it's noisy. And the hairdryer didn't work properly.

The property is dated, but clean and a good place to stay. The appliances in the kitchen are literally from the early 80s, but they still work. The TVs are up to date. The room was clean, the pool was clean, but everything was dated. Overall I would stay here again, but not before looking at other options.

This was a nice place to stay in. I didn't like it that sometimes there was no staff there, which is rather strange. But the rooms had stuff for cooking, a stove.

As a rule I hate full wall mirrors. No bath soaps, hand soaps nor shampoos. No coffee or tea, though there is a coffee maker. Mattress couild have been replaced, oh, several years ago. Insubstantial pillows didn't help. Must clean dirty dishes (that's okay) and leave in drainer, though it wasn't provided. Don't forget to take out the trash or it will be an extra cost. No mention in property description that in effect this is not a place for a one or two night stay unless guests travel with the above. In sum, it is not a hotel. Or a BnB since there isn't a second B. Maybe a short term budget rental.

No pets, stove, fridge, microwave, fully furnished kitchen. Rec room, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna. Laundry and easy check in. We would stay here again if we go to this area again!

The room was clean and neat and very convenient as it had the kitchenette. The only two complaints I have which aren’t really significant, were the window unit blows at nearly ceiling level, so the room was somewhat difficult to keep cool. The other was that you have to remove your own trash, the garbage bin was easily accessible but I was not able to reach the top to open to dispose of the bag (luckily there wasn’t much at all) so I had to take it with me and find elsewhere. However the pool was great and the view of Grandfather Mountain was amazing. I would stay here again, but definitely ask how I could remedy the garbage situation.

Parking area was small. Had an F-150 but still had to maneuver in and out of a tight lot. Checked in after 4 so had to contact security. We're on vacation but found we had to naintain our own trash, towel exchange and meals. Only dinner places close by. Nothing for breakfast and only gas stations for shopping.

We had an efficiency room (Queen bed & kitchenette). It is very cozy (not a lot of room) but fine for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The room was small and the "kitchenette" was two electric stove top burners with a recirculating hood that was about 10 inches above the burners, but it worked for cooking mac and cheese and pancakes! The room was clean and the indoor pool, jaccuzi, and mega lodge -even with the outdated and some broken arcade machines- was super fun for the family. I would stay here again in a heartbeat to be 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain and Hawks Nest tubing.

The lodge property is old time rustic, which was what we were looking for in the mountains. We made good use of the kitchenette in our room. Sauna, large hot tub and large indoor pool were very clean and relaxing. We will visit again and bring our grandsons next time. Authentic vintage North Carolina lodge.

The place is very run down and it smells of mold. Very old and I had to figure out how to enter the property and find my room. They’re no elevators if you are up on the third floor. There’s also no reception desk clerk after 8 pm or before 8 am.

The in-room lighting leaves something to be desired. No overhead lighting for working at the table. Hauling luggage up stairs is a chore, but I was warned ahead of time. Overall great place for the value however. Would definitely book again.

Rooms were clean and staff was extra friendly... But the pictures on the site don't accurately represent this property. The inside of the lodge is very cool... but the game room pictures are apparently very old. The games shown in the pictures were not the same. The cool arcade games were missing... The exterior of the building is in stages of disrepair and need some serious updating. The main issues we had were the hot tub was not hot. All day Saturday, the temp was about 85 degrees... which is not a hot tub... it was very chilly. There was also the smell of a skunk at certain times outside and locals said they have had issues with them under the property. It wasn't a big deal, so we didn't bring it up. All rooms have window units for A/C... again, upgrades need to be made. However with all that said, we'd still probably stay there if the hot tub was fixed and some minor upgrades were made. For the price, it was reasonable and the staff again were very nice. It's also very conveniently located to Banner Elk and some great places to eat.
