Kennedy House

The bed was soooo comfy! The staff were friendly and helpful. The history of the Kennedy House is one thing that drew me, and I truly enjoyed my stay. My room was right above the band downstairs, but I like music, so it was great. There is a bar/restaurant right downstairs that is super fun and delicious.

Excellent location on the main street close to shops and restaurants. Surprisingly quiet. Charming historic hotel with a good restaurant. Parking was difficult and it was awkward to drag our luggage through the dining area to check in.

In the heart of town, within walking distance of everything. Bonus, the Inn has an elevator! Expedia advertises the Inn as not having an elevator.

This is a hotel with a lot of charm located perfectly on the main street, convenient to many restaurants, the wharf, and the supermarket. Despite this it was surprisingly quiet, we barely heard any noise from the street or other guests in the hotel. The room was well appointed and the window A/C worked very well. However, there were three major issues. First, they have 24 rooms but only 10 parking spaces - you do the math. Second, the bed was extremely uncomfortable - it was way too soft in the middle. Our butts seemed a foot lower than our heads in bed. Finally, the WiFi was hard to connect to - it seemed to connect on our iPhones and iPads but did not complete the connection until the next morning. After that it worked fine and the speed was good. My Steam Deck never connected though - it timed out after a couple of minutes do never made it in - the iOS devices seem happy to wait forever, which they practically did. Also the shower temperature occasionally fluctuates, it gets cold for 30 seconds a few times during a 10 minute shower. You can tell it’s happening though so can avoid the cold water until it recovers. It’s a cute place though, so if the above issues (especially the bed) don’t bother you it’s a nice place to stay.

Room 100 is very nice in that it offers a private balcony overlooking Main St. and the ocean. It was very clean and well appointed. There is even an elevator. You absolutely MUST try the Belgian poutine in the restaurant downstairs. The best poutine that I have ever eaten. Paul is the star there. Friendly, helpful, and kind. He checked us in as well as served during dinner. On the minor side, a pedestal sink makes operating in the bathroom difficult. I get the time relevance, but I just don't like those things.

Parking was super accessible. No breakfast served but dinner was great and it was a hopping spot! Clean room. Staff were professional and helpful.

Kennedy House has a lot of historic charm, with a sunroom and deck on the upper floor that looks over the Town square and Water street , great on Canada Day to watch the parade!

Such a cute little Inn. Can’t recommend it enough. Loved the ambience. Old historic structure so you are not getting all the modern luxuries but so much more character. Great Live entertainment and perfect location to everything. Ran into many people who were staying at the resort up the street who said they would have preferred the quaintness of the Inn.

Kennedy House was chosen over other hotels because of the historical nature which appealed to us. The hotel did have an elevator which was convenient. The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet. The bathroom had been modernized, however the commode should have been brought into the 21st century. After the end of September, few places of interest are open and it would have been nice to have had that information upon arrival. Disappointed that we were not able to visit Minister's Island, Hope that future visitors will take note of the tides.

Very beautiful setting on the bay right in the heart of the village. Welcoming staff. Unfortunately the rooms, although clean, are just so outdated and in need of updates. Shag carpet, flattened down that no amount of vacuuming can revive. Dated tv with little to no channels to access. Cost per stay does not equal a room so out of date.

Generally, the entire place needs a good deep cleaning, such as entrance/hallway carpeting. Beds were clean, nice toiletries, cheap towels. No phone in room, terrible tv channels. Didn’t want to turn on A/C because it didn’t look very clean. WIFi & tv didn’t work last night. Front desk staff trying to work the bar at the same time. Good location, good parking.

Very clean room, helpful and friendly staff. I sent my son there on a basketball tournament and the staff checked in with me and made his check in and stay seamless. Would love to return myself soon

Very nice check in, nice main level when you are in the restaurant. Now for our room we booked a while back, thinking we’d get a nice room. We got a room all the way in the back. I assume a room that has not been updated. The headboard had scratch marks all down the head board I found cluster eye lashes in the bed. Very disturbing, can imagine it wasn’t clean. Then after wiping my face with one of the hand towels I discovered there had been looked like someone had wiped their dirty hands on it. Then we couldn’t get the shower to do warm water we did everything and it was either extremely hot or freezing cold. The staff were very kind but didn’t find this room acceptable to sell to anyone. Definitely not what was advertised.

What a dirty room they gave me. Awful. I actually took my things and slept in the car.

Friendly staff, clean room and comfortable bed. We also ate at the restaurant and the food and service was fantastic.

Rooms are clean but the carpets and the decor were not good, but the room was clean and in a excellent location.

I was greatly disappointed in the room I had. It was very dated, rugs bulging bunched and ridged everywhere , large patches of mould on the bathroom ceiling, no air conditioning, super sketchy wiring where there were many items plugged into one outlet. The bathroom light/fan was scary as it didn’t turn on for a few seconds after turning on the switch. This was not an inexpensive room, but apparently it was what they called their “Basic “ room.

I really enjoyed the History and Company...Staff is Great...need more Staff...on a busy night...great games...but need live entertainment on Friday...other places had music....but we love it there...the Kennedy needs a full steam clean and windows...l own a.cleaning business...and l seen the wi dows...room 209...but love the location food and company...Beautiful Place will be Back...👍

There was no AC. The room was 35 celcius. In spring or fall shoukd be nice and cool but summer time you should avoid. Rooms do not have AC. Staff was very friendly and it's well situated.

Really enjoyed our stay in a King Suite. It was spacious with a nice sitting area.

Enjoyed our one night in St Andrew’s. We arrived during the dinner hours so had to wait for a server to check me in. I would recommend not checking in during this time. The bed was comfortable, great location. My only thing was the shower suddenly switches to freezing cold or scalding hot without warning.

Excellent location in historic district with view of the bay. Beautiful room with private balcony overlooking the bay. Excellent restaurant on first floor of inn.

Nice property, friendly staff. Wifi poor in the back room of the hotel. Our room was a bit dated but clean and functional.

The people were so friendly and inviting and the food at the lounge was fantastic! Beds were comfortable rooms were clean and the service was typical for a small inn. Highly recommended!

Manager not friendly. Felt we were putting them out to check us in. Didn’t feel welcome in the dining room. Weird vibe.

Excellent service from staff, felt like family but also a VIP guest. The owner was extremely accommodating of a booking mistake on my part and the room was spectacular. Will definitely be coming back.

LOVE KENNEDY HOUSE! St Andrews-by-the-Sea is such a gem of a spot that we had stumbled upon when visiting the East Coast a few years back. Always a pleasure to return! Decided to book Kennedy House via Expedia, hoping we had made a good choice… and WOW did we ever!!! LOVED our stay! Dominic the owner greeted us warmly at checkin and we immediately felt at home! We had booked a King room #100 on 1st floor with balcony access! Loved sitting out there, comfortable seating, perfect spot to relax! Room was very clean, really comfortable bed with nice bedding. AC worked perfectly! Bathroom is not big, typical of a home built in 1881, but all was functional. There was even a little kitchenette! Perfect location downtown on Water St, close to many restaurants and shops! Downstairs on main floor of Kennedy House is a pub-like restaurant/bar that is open from 12 noon until 10ish. They have outdoor seating on the veranda in the front of the house. Truly enjoyed that!!! Loved Julie our server/bar tender, great old-fashioned night caps! The next day we had lunch there, Tara was our server, loved the lunch special: lobster roll with fries, served with either the daily soup (tomato basil) or blueberry pie! ALL was delicious! In the evening, we returned and we were served by Margot, the owner Dominic’s daughter and we even got to meet Fred,his son! Truly beautiful people! We shared the baked haddock served with mashed potatoes and salad! We also had the grilled corn on the cob, all yumm

We enjoyed our stay at Kennedy House. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, we left three articles of clothing behind when checking out. We contacted the hotel manager and he kindly arranged to have the items mailed to us. Excellent customer service.

Had to cancel my reservation the day of due to an emergency and asked for a partial or full refund, they gave me the standard robotic answer that per their policy no refunds for same day cancellations. Thanks for your empathy and will never come back there.

We liked the location and how it was so close to everything on Main Street. We were very disappointed with our check-in. The gentleman ( that wears a hat) was not a bit welcoming and acted like we were a nuisance to him. He was very short with us when we checked in. We did have a chance to speak to the owner of the hotel at one point during our stay. He was very friendly and we had a great chat with him about the history of his hotel and upcoming renovations.

Easy check in, check out. Nice amenities, accommodation. Dinner was a little bland in flavour, and frozen vegetables - not fresh. Draft beer seemed watered down.Waited over half hour to have dinner plates removed, so left table and informed staff we would be in the lounge for the bill.

What a lovely historic building. The rooms were unique and the one we had was super spacious for three of us. The carpet could use some updating but was clean and the beds were comfortable enough. Love that this spot was a hotel/bar/restaurant as we went at the end of their season so the town was close to shutting down. Dinner was reasonable and quite tasty, service was good. Bar was nice with a big area to watch sports and you are close to all shops and the waterfront. Would definitely stay here again and can only imagine the hustle and bustle of this town during peak season!!

We really enjoyed our stay in St Andrews at the Kennedy Inn. We had dinner there both night and had two nights of incredible food. We cant wait to visit again! Thanks for your hospitality.

The recent renovations to Kennedy House are amazing! This is a first class accommodation. Had the lobster roll and mussels for lunch which were awesome. Service was exceptional. Definitely will return soon!

For the affordable price we found the room extremely clean and comfortable. We had their special Valentine’s dinner and found the food very good and the service friendly and attentive.

Great staff. We ate at the restaurant several times and the food was amazing at a fair price and service was excellent. We are a group of 10 and they did a great job accommodating us.
