Beautiful view of the river. Rooms have been recently renovated and are modern and clean. Fast wi-fi and comfortable bed. No in-room coffee unfortunately, but carafe coffee was available in the main office by 7:30am sharp. Super friendly staff. I'd stay again.

Rooms are recently redone and very nice. Outside is dated, but okay. Owner/staff was very helpful. Ask for a room with a good view (not a lower floor room). Parking was good. Only complaint is for the price we paid, breakfast must be included.

Very spacious and clean room, modern bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just wish we had been told that the restaurant was closed for the season - we had no idea and went to the (empty) front desk at 7:50 am and again at 8:25 am for breakfast before giving up. Delayed the start of our day (guess we should have done more research on the off season before travelling - wasn’t expecting it to be as difficult as it was to find someplace that was open to grab a bite to eat). Would stay here again (not off season lol)

The saying you can't judge a book by it's cover fits Duck Cove Inn. We weren't terribly impressed by our first view of the Inn. It's a bit rough around the edges. Due to mobility issues, we were in the upper string of 13 units with no steps. We were quite pleasantly surprised that the 2 rooms we had appeared to have been newly renovated. The bathroom was especially impressive, being sparkly clean with newer, modern fixtures.

The bedding and bathrooms are clean. Shingles missing on roof and room was old and musty. Looked like a leak in the ceiling touched up by paint. Would not be my first choice next time. Needs to be updated. Had a much better room in Baddeck for less money.

We were dismayed to find that our produce had frozen overnight in the frig. It was very inconvenient NOT having COFFEE OR TEA MAKERS in the room. They were available in the main building and I promptly dropped my hot tea enroute to my room. The renovations e.g. re-painting were poorly done and already showing signs of peeling. The new bathroom tiles were very slippery when wet. The sign for the Inn at the highway was peeled off and the sign at the Inn itself was nowhere to be seen. It took me two tries and 20 minutes to locate the property . I was even in the parking lot but did not know that I was at the Inn so we left to try again. I smelled cigarette smoke in the lobby. Overall a rather disappointing stay. On a cheerier note, the sunrise was beautiful.

The room had recently been renovated. Our teens loved the smart tv. Large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash were great. The view is incredible but unfortunately the parking area blocks it if you are in the motel part of the property. The stay was quite expensive.

Wir hatten ein sehr ansprechend neu renoviertes Zimmer im EG. Tolle Aussicht. Sehr sauber, bequemes Bett. Die Schritte des Bewohner im Zimmer darüber waren leider nicht zu überhören. Ansonsten sehr ruhig. Das von uns bestellte Frühstück das leider nicht im Preis enthalten ist, war reichhaltig und lecker. Der Preis hierfür war angemessen.

The lady at the front desk was funny, energetic and very fun to deal with! The room was clean, and had been renovated lately. Even with the AC on, it was a bit humid, but this was during a very hot week, so that might be why. A good stay, with a very nice view!!

Nice view and convenient location. Very clean, but housekeeping person needs to chill a bit. She was at our door right at 11 (we were a little slow to leave, but only by a few minutes). I said we’d be a few more minutes and she commented that we were her “last room” (not my issue).

We were booked. Arrived for check in. Rude reception. We left and lost our money as they refused refund. Dirty, cluttered. All rooms had windows open on all units. Only one restaurant nearby, very basic and unacceptable. Motel was in an isolated area. Rating was well above what our experience was. Definitely would not recommend staying there.

The owners were very nice. Despite telling Expedia on the phone they would not charge a fee for service dog, they did. That said, they were helpful. I can tell they are working hard to improve the property, so there are pails of tar around, along with other supplies that could be a hazard, but that’s temporary. The views are stunning. Our room was very well furnished with an unusually comfortable bed. It was a very good sleep. I’d go back for sure.

I love this quaint little inn. If you’re looking for a 5 star, better prepare to pay lots of $$$. For the money, this place was just fine. Beautiful view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Clean room with everything you need for a short stay. Two great restaurants not far away. (Take the advice of the front desk for that). All in all, I’d stay here again.

We stayed 1 night in a room with two queen beds, which we found really comfortable. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was very clean. Very convenient location on the cabot trail. Just 1 restaurant nearby, which is nothing fancy but all we needed. Spent the evening at a fantastic beach nearby. I would recommend this stop and would stay here again.

We stayed in the 2-level block of rooms next to the restaurant and reception with a lake view and balcony. These are the nicer more renovated rooms.They number in the 30's. Restaurant only had a buffet breakfast the morning we were there. A very expensive $60. Friendly staff and service.

Amazing view and breakfast menu. They are working on paintingthe e terior but te rooms are great. Clean and a view that is amazing. Staff are great. Breakfast delicious

We stayed 1 night in a room with two queen beds, which we found really comfortable. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was very clean. Very convenient location on the cabot trail. Just 1 restaurant nearby, which is nothing fancy but all we needed. Spent the evening at a fantastic beach nearby. I would recommend this stop and would stay here again.

The view of Margary Harbour is the main attraction. The staff were not welcoming, and the restaurant was closed.

Very spacious and clean room, modern bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just wish we had been told that the restaurant was closed for the season - we had no idea and went to the (empty) front desk at 7:50 am and again at 8:25 am for breakfast before giving up. Delayed the start of our day (guess we should have done more research on the off season before travelling - wasn’t expecting it to be as difficult as it was to find someplace that was open to grab a bite to eat). Would stay here again (not off season lol)

Staff were very friendly & accommodating. The beds were the best we’ve slept in during our two weeks of travelling. Everything is very clean. Although this motel does not offer a free breakfast, they have a very reasonably priced on-site restaurant. The food was excellent (especially the coffee) and the view spectacular.

Stayed one night while touring Cabot trail. Our room was ok. The bathroom was nicely updated. Indoor outdoor carpeting in main area. My biggest negative was the overly scented linens. It smelled like air freshener in the room, but I think it was just from the bedding. Being scent sensitive, this was a problem as it was so strongly scented. Chose this accommodation because dining and bar was listed as amenities. Unfortunately they were not available, and we had to go off site for dinner. There is one restaurant close by. After dinner we explored the area and enjoyed a lovely sandy beach for the sunset.

The staff were amazing, super helpful. The room was super clean and comfortable. I had a nice view to the margaree lake.

I highly recommend this motel. It is in a terrific location along the Cabot Trail. Our room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was modern and spacious. Breakfast is excellent, although it is not included in the room price.
