Hotel & Villas Huetares

Basic but clean and tidy hotel with a nice restaurant. There are three pools, which is a good feature, but unfortunately my daughter cut her foot on a damaged pool step that had not been repaired. The owner initially agreed to cover medical costs, but later refused after we received a partial refund through Expedia when we had to cut our stay short. This was disappointing and felt unfair. Overall, the hotel is fine in terms of cleanliness and facilities, but the unresolved safety issue and how it was handled left a negative impression.

Great location, blocks from beach and good restaurants. Very reasonable price. Villa wsd 2 BR/2 BA which was a nice change, small but kitchen had all the tools. No living area to sit inside, but patio with comfy chairs just outside to enjoy early morning or late night air. March is hot at the beach but it cools off nicely at night.

Overall clean, good parking. Dated, can be loud & crowded depending on the day ROOMS: Rooms on the outside edge of the property 100 series were not good to stay in. No view, very loud construction, no kitchenette and overall not very nice rooms. The little apartments example #5 were much better. Generally all rooms we saw (3) were are older and showing wear. PARKING: parking lot is gated - unexpected + CLEANING: Was very good POOL: main pool was a decent size and they have smaller ones for kids. Coping stones and tile in need cleaning. Need more shade and chairs with cushions. Really loud music by some of the other guests went unchecked. GENERAL AREA: Could use a bit of sprucing up. Appreciated no mosquitoes. STAFF: Very nice and helpful. FREE BREAKFAST: At little place next door for breakfast food was good, but they had a hard time accommodating rush at 7am. BEACH: 2 blocks away - but you need to bring own towel and chairs, shade is under trees. Beach Chairs: we did not see any chairs for rent on the beach, but perhaps some of the other hotels might do that OR You can buy chairs at the some of the larger supermarkets in Playa Coco. MINI MART: next to the breakfast spot LARGER MKT: Top of street CAR: Suggest you had a car so you can explore other places Like Playa Coco. Playa Panama RESTAURANTS: we liked On the main road - Coco Viquez walkable from hotel Little roadside place at Eco Camping Papagayo CHURCH: walking distance.

Loved the pool, nicely kept grounds. Wonderful staff.
