The hotel is very close to the downtown area including the wonderful cathedral. The staff are excellent. Breakfast in the room is very convenient. There is a Turkish restaurant associated with the hotel, right next door and the menu looks great. I also recommend a Turkish fast food place almost opposite the New Theater and an Indian restaurant- Momoz - excellent. Hair place excellent- Layla's. Downside of the Pearl is the stairs - there were 36 to the attic room I was in. Rooms 210 and above have this problem - a problem if you have trouble with stairs. The rooms 210 and 2011 are very small - attic style. The mattresses are old box springs and you can feel the springs. I had chosen a discounted room online and wish I'd called the hotel first for a description. If you are young and fit and on a budget this place would work for you.

Brilliant hotel, great location, clean, warm and fantastic bathroom. Reception staff very good, booked us in with no problems with a smile on her face. Room had everything we needed, and breakfast was delivered to our room at the time we requested. Plenty of free parking, not a single issue to find fault with, would definitely go back

Everything was good, first room offered had too many stairs, and was in attic steps everywhere not good for the older generation but luckily there was a room we could move to so all good.

Staff were friendly and helpful but this venue was offered as a 4* hotel which it most definitely wasn't. Building renovation was underway so I did not take bags out of the car and had to go to a side door to find out whether the hotel was actually open. The room was clean but the bed and bedding were worn with polyester quilt and pillows which make me sweat. The bathroom was poorly finished off and with cheap units. Breakfast was offered in room due to the ongoing works and was value for money. Go forewarned and you may not be disappointed.

Staff were extremely helpful, polite and genuinely friendly. If you are disabled in any way then you must ensure that a ground floor room is booked; no lifts and too many idiosyncretic stairs to navigate othewise. Am not sure how wheelchair users are provided for. However, did enjoy the room delivered breakfasts. Will return when next in Peterborough.

Restaurant was being refurbished so our breakfast as pre ordered and brought to our bedroom each morning. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but slightly ' tired 'with stains on carpet. We were aware of pigeons roosting just above our bedroom, which had a distinctive and noisy 'coo coo' sound. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Very friendly and polite

Stayed for two nights as I was attending a course in the Hampton. I wouldn’t say it was a hotel more a restaurant with rooms attached. Room was large with dated & broken furniture. My main concern was the smell in the room. Drains stank which resulted in the owners propping open the only window with a sign saying do not close. There were small touches of though with real flowers in the room & on the breakfast tray. Would I stay again? If I could be assured of a stench free room, I might as staff were helpful.

Start with the cons; Floor was dirty. Shower was half broken. For a supposed 4 star - this was not expected. What are the pros? That said, it was cheap hotel so limited room to complain. I would still recommend this place. The TV has all necessary functionalities for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was cheap and good as well.

Hotel was comfortable and staff very friendly. There is no bar or restaurant at this hotel but a very nice Turkish restaurant next door. The carpet in the room was dirty and the cupboards had seen better days and the bed was squeaky. Bathroom was a nice size clean and modern. For breakfast you have to select up to four items from a number of choices on a menu the day before you require it. Your breakfast is brought to your room on a tray at a prearranged time of your choice. In our room there were two chairs and a table. The food was good. Needed the air conditioning which worked a treat.

Room was spotless, bed really comfortable and this hotels biggest strong point was the reception staff - especially Zaf who was welcoming, warm and so helpful with everything needed - directed me to local restaurants, booked me a taxi to work and really does understand what good customer service means. Incredible value for money

Room was big and clean. Lots of noise from creaky floor above. Bed not the best, pillow’s terrible. Bathroom clean, but shower has no power, just a tickle of water! Didn’t have breakfast but did eat in the restaurant attached for an evening meal which was superb. Would go back to the restaurant again but not to the hotel as cherish my sleep too much!

The room was very modern and the amount of space provided everything and more, with nice additions like fresh flowers. We liked the blue light option and enjoyed the big telly. The shower was very spacious also. The only issue we came across but they weren’t major to make us dislike our stay was the thin walls and aircon unit right outside our window which created a bit of noise throughout the night. Overall, very good stay for a reasonable price, only a 10/15 minutes walk away from Peterborough train station.

Staff are lovely, room was ckean but needed repair....i had to fix thr shower door before my wife could use it and the curtains didnt closeto good as they were damaged on one side. But in general, the room was good. If you are the larger person thrn watch out for the toilet (rm 119 ) its tight to sit on as its right up to the wall and the toilet paper roll hits your legs/thigh.

The room we were allocated was on the top floor it was a attic room with no head space ,, we had to move the bed into the middle of the room otherwise I would have banged my head if I sat up ..the door into the room was only about 4 ft so had to crouch to get in the same as the bathroom ..It was impossible to sit at the dressing table to dry my hair as kept hitting the ceiling with the dryer .. Also worried about fire safety if there had been a fire on the staircase there was no window in our room to escape only a very small velox which we would been unable to reach .. The tv didnt work .. No compensation or apologies when mentioned the issues about the room ...this should not be used as a hotel room not adequate .

Hotel location is good 5mins to town centre. Raidiators didn’t work in room ( I did report it). That said there is a warm air unit in the room. Pillows are terrible. Wi-FI is good.

Everything was fine until checkout. On saturday we got an agreement with receptionist for a free late checkout. She had failed to tell house keeping & leave any notes. House keeper decided to argue with us that her colleague is new and we needed to pay. We told her were not paying as agreement was made and she should speak to the receptionist. She continued to argue and was rude and agressive. We told her we are not interested in arguing as non of this was our fault. Because of this i wouldnt be in any rush back. Also training is very much required to her re how to talk guests & better communication.
Everything was fine until checkout. On saturday we got an agreement with receptionist for a free late checkout. She had failed to tell house keeping & leave any notes. House keeper decided to argue with us that her colleague is new and we needed to pay. We told her were not paying as agreement was made and she should speak to the receptionist. She continued to argue and was rude and agressive. We told her we are not interested in arguing as non of this was our fault. Because of this i wouldnt be in any rush back. Also training is very much required to her re how to talk guests & better communication.

Room was spotless, bed really comfortable and this hotels biggest strong point was the reception staff - especially Zaf who was welcoming, warm and so helpful with everything needed - directed me to local restaurants, booked me a taxi to work and really does understand what good customer service means. Incredible value for money

I was prepared to write a glowing, detailed review of cleanliness, comfort, eco-friendiness, service and overall satisfaction with my stay. Then I discovered shortly after leaving the hotel my room deposit was not returned. I received no call or email about the charge. I thought it was a mistake. The next morning I discovered I forgot to return the room key. I immediately called the hotel with the intention of returning the key. I was told the hotel tried to contact me but was unable to reach me. The management was forced to change the room lock and charged me. I understood I made my mistake, but in all truthfulness, I received no communications about the missing key or the intention to penalize me. I was charged within an hour of leaving the premises. I understand their decision--it's a valid hotel policy. I feel the action was 'cold and calculated' response to an honest mistake. I'm deeply disappointed.

We stayed as we went to watch a show at new theatre. This was an easy walk to get there and back. Lovely big room and staff very helpful. Phoned me the day before because i have slight accessible needs and asked me if i would be ok with a 1st floor room and that there is no lift. As i was using my crutch it was fine and the stairs are a few then landing so pleanty of time to rets between. All in all a pleasent stay.

I was given a great reception from very friendly and welcoming staff. Had a room on ground level due to my heavy suitcase. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bed. I liked the discreet aircon and that the window could open for fresh air as well. Food at the adjoining restaurant was excellent. Pity no aircon on a very hot evening. A very pleasant stay and i will definitely return!

Hotel was comfortable and staff very friendly. There is no bar or restaurant at this hotel but a very nice Turkish restaurant next door. The carpet in the room was dirty and the cupboards had seen better days and the bed was squeaky. Bathroom was a nice size clean and modern. For breakfast you have to select up to four items from a number of choices on a menu the day before you require it. Your breakfast is brought to your room on a tray at a prearranged time of your choice. In our room there were two chairs and a table. The food was good. Needed the air conditioning which worked a treat.

Lovely boutique hotel with a great bar/restaurant inside. Our room was huge and decorated perfectly. The only downside was the complimentary breakfast which was pretty much bread based and served to your room. Would definitely stay again however as everything else was great!

We only stayed for one night and that's why we booked a standard room. Was fine for us. I've stayed in a lot worse. Staff were polite and professional on arrival and we were made to feel welcome. My only negative(and I emphasize we only stayed one night) was that the breakfast is not worth the fee.

The room was very small but okay since we've had the budget room. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was included but served in bed which was slightly inconvenient, also it was a rather small breakfast. The hotel was quiet and pretty from the inside.

Looked a little rough round the edges upon arrival but acceptable. Lovely warm welcome upon arrival. Sorted the room and ordered our breakfast for the morning. Went to find the room in the maze of hallways. Arrived to a smaller than expected room but it did have a huge bathroom. The mattress was ok but it was smaller than the very tired divan base it laid on. The air-conditioning wasn't particularly cold but it was an extremely hot day so anything was better than outside. Took a shower the next morning after a reasonably quiet night. The pressure wasn't great but it did the job. Breakfast arrived at the requested time to our room but another friendly member of staff. We had a simple scrambled egg on toast. This was a nice set up for the day. Nice place to stay if you need to get your head down. Very fair priced. Would stay again.

A very conveniently located hotel with lots of parking. Check in is not until 2pm. We had a king superior room which smelt of old cigarette smoke. The window was permanently closed, there was air conditioning to keep the room cool but fresh air would have been welcomed. Good quiet location with walking distance of the city centre.
