We were excited to stay in this "hotel" because of the location in central Toronto, which is right on Queen Street and close to everything. We were aware that it was a self check-in so we had no issues there. It was only after lugging our bags up four flights of stairs that we realized there was a service elevator tucked into the ice cream shop next door (?) that was available during the stay to help with luggage. The unit itself was the size of a postage stamp, with barely any room to shuffle around the bed. There was ample storage at the head board so that was nice. There was no window, just a frosted glass pane that must have opened into a lightwell but provided next to no light. The biggest issue was the bathroom. There was a glass barn door and translucent panel between the bedroom and bathroom, which means that if there are two people staying there, you can hear/ smell/ see everything that is going on in the bathroom with no privacy whatsoever, about two feet from the bed. The AC unit would also make a very loud buzzing sound about once an hour all night which kept us up each night we stayed there. The rooftop patio has amazing views and good seating; however there is no one up there serving food or drinks so you need to bring your own (even though they say you can't), and worst of all it closes at 8 pm, which is exactly when you want to be up there enjoying a drink and taking in the city views. A lot of potential here but overall a bad stay. Would not recommend.

The Sonder Beverly on Queen St W was a great option for staying in while visiting friends in the city. Parking is available down the block, below the MEC, and the neighbourhood is full of great restaurants and shops if you want to experience the city. It’s right on the streetcar line, and a few blocks from the subway station, so getting around town is easy as well, though, a lot of the tourist stuff is within easy walking distance, from the AGO, to Roger’s Centre, Scotiabank Arena, CityTV Studios, CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio, and so on. Highly recommend it for a no fuss weekend city visit!

For downtown work/visit, the Sonder Bev is ideal. Right on Queen St W in the heart of the arts scene. Travel light because there's no elevator and the rooms are "Japanese small", but convenience renders those moot. The automated systems are flawless (there's no physical staff on site). I love this place for convenience.

The stairs are quite steep to go up to the higher level floors. The A/C unit makes quite a bit of noise when on for a prolongeed period of time - though only periodically. The shower tile does get very slippery during showers. The staff are incredible through the chat! We had a small appliance issue that was able to fixed. The appliance closet and luggage storage was in a great spot. The neighboorhood was not loud through the night, and a LCBO, Shoppers Drug mart and Starbucks are close by for convience. As well as some small businesses that should be checked out. Would definitely recommend for smaller trips or for couples!

Enjoyed the uniqueness of the property, having a passcode instead of a key, ability to help self to extra supplies, location, Roku tv, chat feature helpful, and free luggage storage. Would have preferred a door or curtain at least into bathroom for privacy and better curtain rod for shower, something more stable/permanent.

If you can get it for cheap, the hotel is a nice, clean, comfortable place to sleep. But if youre paying the same price for Ocho, just go there. Its just down ther street, has an elevator and a lot more room.

I've stayed here before, but was disappointed in the the condition and cleanliness of the room. The sheets were old, and though clean had old stains on them. The never drained properly and the floor should have been cleaner.

The room was fantastic but the TV was much too large and hanging in a dangerous position obstructing the walkway, the AC was covered in dust and triggered allergies (the windows don’t open) in both of us when on - as well as making a loud rumbling noise when off. The side tables were very sticky…the bed was so creaky it made a loud noise when we put a little clothing down on it Nice view

I absolutely love Sonder and have stayed at multiple locations. This Sonder was very different from the others. The room had been poorly cared for over the years. My room also had the strongest smell of bleach throughout my stay. Also, I extended my checkout by a hour and room service still came to my door and demanded proof. My assigned room was also facing, Queen St, which is an extremely busy street with traffic and bars. I didn’t go to sleep until 2am. This place is a great option if you plan on partying and exploring Queen Street.

Tv was in a very awkward location as it was hanging from the wall in such a way that I had to duck when getting up from my side of the bed. Would have been nice to have some “creamers”for the tea. Room was facing the street so could hear quite a bit of the street noise at night. Would have been nice to be able to get some basic channels on tv instead of exclusively Roku.

We had a great stay and had all we wanted. Room was very nice size with nice view of the outside. Easy to get in and out with the app. Even on a busy street they provide a white noise machine in the room so we slept very well.

There wasn’t a real window in our room, so it felt pretty claustrophobic. The area was amazing, and we spent much of our time outside of the room, so it ended up being fine.

After reservation was contacted by Sonder DEmanded photo ID (THey had Photo ID on filefrom previous stay-So 15 minutes later I was checked ing) Was told check-in instructions would arrive 3 days before stay. They did. They also arrived 1 day before stayby text I could not log-in using google credentials Called reservations Was told text I received from wrong phone number and to ignore Got to propert (neighborhood nice) Logged in. OOPs log-in didn;'t work. 15 minutes later contacted customer service. They demanded I verify who I was (seemsreasonable) but wouldn't send me text. Wanted me to furnish confirmation number ( I didn't have it) 15 minutes later (I couldn't get e-mails, I was in Canada) they decided I was me. My room number changed and my access code changed. I got into building and climbed 3 flights of stairs to floor 4. elevator is availble through ice cream shop-on first floor (closed when I arrived) Log in worked Got to room and it is size of Kingsize mattress. Queen size bed inside so had 1 foot on each side of bed Bathroom similarly small (not even room for sink) Bathroom fan didn't work Toilet overflowed 3rd day. Do not recommend
After reservation was contacted by Sonder DEmanded photo ID (THey had Photo ID on filefrom previous stay-So 15 minutes later I was checked ing) Was told check-in instructions would arrive 3 days before stay. They did. They also arrived 1 day before stayby text I could not log-in using google credentials Called reservations Was told text I received from wrong phone number and to ignore Got to propert (neighborhood nice) Logged in. OOPs log-in didn;'t work. 15 minutes later contacted customer service. They demanded I verify who I was (seemsreasonable) but wouldn't send me text. Wanted me to furnish confirmation number ( I didn't have it) 15 minutes later (I couldn't get e-mails, I was in Canada) they decided I was me. My room number changed and my access code changed. I got into building and climbed 3 flights of stairs to floor 4. elevator is availble through ice cream shop-on first floor (closed when I arrived) Log in worked Got to room and it is size of Kingsize mattress. Queen size bed inside so had 1 foot on each side of bed Bathroom similarly small (not even room for sink) Bathroom fan didn't work Toilet overflowed 3rd day. Do not recommend

The service with the app is super slow and long. You can only make changes to the reservation with the AI operator and that complicated a lot the process. No Lobby, nowhere to leave luggage if needed and check in time is at 4pm, an hour after every other hotels. Room is tiny and expensive for what you got.

For downtown work/visit, the Sonder Bev is ideal. Right on Queen St W in the heart of the arts scene. Travel light because there's no elevator and the rooms are "Japanese small", but convenience renders those moot. The automated systems are flawless (there's no physical staff on site). I love this place for convenience.

This is a ripe off. The 5star places are in the same area same money. Trying to get in was terrible, they emailed me 4 times wanting among others bank details I emailed 4 times back saying with scams so rampant I don’t want to pass the details on. 4 times I was ignored Try and get in after 24hrs in airports and planes . Plenty of International calls getting wrong details I could go on. Enough. The vanity tap fell off, the hot water stopped working, the shower base is like ice, the acc just kicks in like a truck for a few minutes then settles down every half hour The place is a pig for the money. The good point (location).

We were excited to stay in this "hotel" because of the location in central Toronto, which is right on Queen Street and close to everything. We were aware that it was a self check-in so we had no issues there. It was only after lugging our bags up four flights of stairs that we realized there was a service elevator tucked into the ice cream shop next door (?) that was available during the stay to help with luggage. The unit itself was the size of a postage stamp, with barely any room to shuffle around the bed. There was ample storage at the head board so that was nice. There was no window, just a frosted glass pane that must have opened into a lightwell but provided next to no light. The biggest issue was the bathroom. There was a glass barn door and translucent panel between the bedroom and bathroom, which means that if there are two people staying there, you can hear/ smell/ see everything that is going on in the bathroom with no privacy whatsoever, about two feet from the bed. The AC unit would also make a very loud buzzing sound about once an hour all night which kept us up each night we stayed there. The rooftop patio has amazing views and good seating; however there is no one up there serving food or drinks so you need to bring your own (even though they say you can't), and worst of all it closes at 8 pm, which is exactly when you want to be up there enjoying a drink and taking in the city views. A lot of potential here but overall a bad stay. Would not recommend.

The Sonder Beverly on Queen St W was a great option for staying in while visiting friends in the city. Parking is available down the block, below the MEC, and the neighbourhood is full of great restaurants and shops if you want to experience the city. Everything settled in very well after initial difficulty with entry keypad. Thankfully, Elena (?) came to the entrance to help me. Kyle has to help me understand the workings of the TV with it's disappointing menu. Shower floor is a fall risk without a grab bar or a rough patch to stand on. Very slippery. Great area. Enjoy the Nespresso and tea selection.

Tv was in a very awkward location as it was hanging from the wall in such a way that I had to duck when getting up from my side of the bed. Would have been nice to have some “creamers”for the tea. Room was facing the street so could hear quite a bit of the street noise at night. Would have been nice to be able to get some basic channels on tv instead of exclusively Roku.

Great location, near Osgode station and street cars, 15 mins walk to CN tower and Rogers Centre. Room was small but clean and very well designed, had lots of storage space and 2 big suitcases easily fitted under the bed. Good value for money. Could do with a chair in the room but not a deal breaker as we were mostly out exploring and only needed a base, Air conditioning was really good very powerful and the room got nice and chilly. Staff was kind and very helpful. Would stay again.

Such a cute spot with an amazing sub shop attached. Only issue was when taking a shower the water leaked out onto the floor because it wasn't slanted to the drain enough. Other then that it was a great stay and close to our concert venue. Would book again!
