Nice small shallow boat ramp

Loved the location of our room-we could easily get coffee and head out to sit and watch the sunrise. Ice machine broken so that was a bummer but the staff was phenomenal especially when allowing us to check in early.

Overall 1 night stay was fine. This is our 2nd time booking. I was, however, disappointed not to have access to the bikes, etc.

If you are looking for a hotel on the smaller side, this is a winner. The room was nice and very clean. Small pool, some beachy area to sit, bbq’s, and a parrot enclosure that was entertaining. It’s in a good location for Islamorada restaurants. If you’re looking for a large property and pool with lots of amenities, this isn’t for you. If you’re looking for quiet and clean in a good location, I recommend this hotel.

It was great when we first arrived but we were informed that they had a great boat ramp which was perfect for us because we were bringing our boat so our family could have a great time. When we arrived and drove down the rocky Sandy driveway to the boat ramp there was no way to turn around to put the boat in not to mention the boat ramp was horribly unmaintained. It took us over an hour and a half just to be able to back up to the front entrance of the hotel since we had a boat on the back and we had to navigate sharp turns and other people's vehicles. On the second day we reversed the boat all the way back down to the ramp was able to get the boat in the water and went out for the day but in coming back there was no access back to the ramp because of the tide. When we managed to get the trailer into the water and get the boat on because the ramp had no concrete our boat trailer and truck got stuck in the ocean sand. We spent 2 hours trying to get it out with no luck. We had to pay $100 to the hotel next door to have one of their guys come and get us out and they had to drive our boat around to their dock. This experience alone ruined the vacation. With all the aggravation they also charged us $50 extra dollars because we left some dirty dishes in the sink. The Breezy Palm next door told us that the Sands of Islamorada have been lying to customers for 2 years about putting in a proper boat ramp and deck

Overall the property was nice, very clean. The property and rooms themselves are smaller than I expected, but that said still worked out well. There is a pool which was very clean. The beach area is small. No place to fish from shore. The dock shown in the photos belongs to the resort next door and there is no access. Cleaning staff was there every day and were very courteous.

I was charged $60 for the resort fee yet the kayaks paddle boards bikes were not available. The dock did not exist.

A good solid place to stay in South Islamorada. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Only dislike was the shower head. Not spaced far enough away from wall for a comfortable experience. We had an assigned parking spot and pool and beach area seemed clean and well maintained.

I want to first brag on the housekeeping. They were very polite and the rooms were very clean. They tried to help as no one was in the office the whole time we were there. I left a message, at least 3, with the office we would like to kayak one or two days while we were there. They did not return the call. The kayaks were all under a tarp put away. The pool was dirty on the bottom. No one ever cleaned it up. No one ever came to clean up the beach area.

I liked the place — it was very clean, and the pool was nice. There’s no area for kids, though. The king bed upstairs with a water view was perfect. Unfortunately, the sofa bed smelled strongly of marijuana, so we all had to sleep in one bed and barely got any rest. The smell and the pillow were disgusting. We also left a cooler behind, called the hotel, and were told they’d call us back — but no one ever did. Overall, I don’t think I’d return. It’s just too expensive for what they offer.

Nicely renovated older, smaller hotel with friendly staff that accommodates different arrival and departure times. Very clean, could have a better kitchen area, but comfortable stay!

The room was extremely neat and clean. Was spacious for two adults. The pool was a few steps away.

Extremely clean and very pleasant housekeeping staff. It’s not a a resort with all the bells and whistles but a good place if you are out all day.

The hotel was reasonably priced and while a little dated, the rooms were large and clean. The staff was SUPER nice. All in all, a great place to stay a couple nights in the keys at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!

Super Clean rooms, nice staff, TV was basic, easy on -off highway. Nice restaurants within walking distance.

Very nice place, rooms are small. Laundry was not working. Pool was convenient and in good condition. Easy access to sites on the island. Clean rooms.

Loved the room decor. Bed was comfortable for me but my husband has back issues and needed it a little firmer. Quiet. beautiful ocean view. Nice pool.

Rooms updated and modern

Stayed in room 17 and the AC didn’t work. The room is extremely hot and I wish we had stayed somewhere else

Beautiful property and very nice rooms. The only downfall was one of our doors wouldn’t lock or stay closed.

Older building but very cute and clean. The handle to the shower water came off in my hand and the shower curtain rod fell when I went to take a shower. The rest of the stay was fine. Beautiful waterfront stay

staff was great

First: Beautiful and very clean room. Very nice and helpful maid! But: We explicitly wished a QUIET room. This was completly ignored. We got a room next to the room with the laundry and vending machines and directly accross a parrot cage. Also something in the bath room was broken causing a loud noise from something like an on and on repeating water flow, all night long. No one was in the office for two days, no one answered phone calls under the emegency number...

Absolutely amazing! What a hidden gem this hotel is. It has the perfect Keys ambiance and is very conveniently located to restaurants, charters, and so much more in Islamorada. Thank you Sands of Islamorada, looking forward to returning soon!

Room was fine. Location perfect. Its a 2 star hotel but was nice and clean just not a resort and much cheaper than the others.

The property is close to the Atlantic coast and has a pool.

Great little place to get away! Right on the water and great view of the light house lit up at night. Some great food options around it. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Beautiful views of the water. Conveniently located close to shops and restaurants. Very clean. Beds were ok, hard to get a hold of staff but very friendly when we did.

No room service at all, parking spots are very tight, I came around 11pm from late night dinner, can not park in my destinated spot, either side cars were parked, I can’t park, also open hours are 10am to 4 pm, otherwise office was closed, it’s okay stay, but $500 for 2 nights, expect better

quaint, felt like a b/b,perfect for two day get away. no restaurant or ministore. staff not ther after 4 pm.
