Checkin was quick and easy, king room on the river side was perfect. Very clean property and staff were always friendly. Easily walkable to main street shops and food. The laundry machines need updating, and the hallways echo quite loudly when groups are walking through or housekeeping carts are being moved around. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel entrance is dated and inconvenient. Uneven concrete and pavement can trip up the unsuspecting or those pushing luggage carts. Lack of automatic doors, too - what? Our magnetic card key door lock was a complete assache, requiring us to call the front desk for help at least three times. And the hot water in the bathroom is altogether too hot - scalding risk. Room is clean, patio is nice, view is very pleasant, beds are comfortable, breakfast is good.

Nice place. Pool looked kinda odd color. I was told it is the paint not the water. Comfy beds nice shower.

It’s a bit over priced for what you get - $250/night. Picture of the pool on line website was not even close to the actual frog pond on site. Staff was friendly and helpful. At best, this place gets 2 stars.

When I chose this hotel I was looking for a pet friendly place to stay. They said they were and their promotional picture shows a nice grass area behind the hotel, however dogs are not allowed on the grass. Dog area is a gravel/dirt area, not pleasant for anyone or your dog.

I wish we were told the pool was closed and maybe get a discount because of it

Upon check in I was standing in the lobby and a young girl caught my eye and walked toward me and never even smiled or greeted me, and then she went begin the counter and still didn't greet me - awkward. I said I was there to check in. She may have been having a bad day, but it wasn't a great start. The pool was closed and I didn't know that, which was a bummer. The room was noisy because it was right on the end of the hallway next to the stairwell. The carpet was FILTHY with tons of spots on it. We stared at it and just contemplating - do we complain, do we leave, do we ask for another room - will the new room be just as bad. We had a small dog with us and we thought that maybe they placed us in a dirty carpeted room just in case our dog also messes? Who knows, but we didn't want to walk barefoot in there. I spilled water next to my bed and got a white towel to soak it up and the towel was black. That confirmed that those carpets are NOT shampooed. The balcony had no chairs on it. I did have a river view, which was nice to listen to the water at night. The location is great because Salmon is so small that you can easily walk to the river and to the park, as well as the downtown strip. I wouldn't choose this hotel again, I would choose to take my camper instead. This hotel was recommended to me but the people with us even said it has gone down hill from a couple years ago since they last stayed. Sigh. Almost $500 for 2 nights too.

pool looked like it needed attention

Pool area unsuitable to swim-old tile, looked like it needed good cleaning and/or new surfacing, not heated. Very loud band playing next to motel till 11:30pm-way too late, unable to sleep. Motel should have imposed time limit on band due to proximity to motel.

Very clean. Area for pets. Breakfast looked great although we went out with family to Wally's. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Filthy bathroom with pubes on floor. Hair on pillowcase. Bathroom light didn’t work. Advised hotel upon checkout as we got in very late. Their idea of making it right was sending a coupon for a future stay…

Clean and renovated in a nice way.

Staff was very nice but our room could have been cleaner. We had cobwebs on the walls with bugs on them. We were supplied with only one towel when we reserved for 3 people in the same room. The bed was very comfy but I was terribly itchy when I woke up the next morning. The floors could also have been vacuumed better.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located but is old and could use some upgrades. However, our stay was fine, and we would stay here again if we were in Salmon.

Bathroom cleanliness was terrible. The bottom 3 inches of the tub/shower had a ring around it that could have easily been wiped clean. While showering a large hairball came up out of the drain. Also, there was hair and a little blood on the bathroom wall. The television didn't work well either.

Due to old and faulty locks on both the balcony and hotel door, we got locked out on the balcony - the on site manager could not open our door because I turned the dead bolt - as is normal in a hotel room. The balcony slider locked automatically as we shut it, with us outside. An outside person had to come to open the door, which took about 45 minutes. other parts of the room showed its age as well, the bathtub being unthinkably soiled. Breakfast was egg mix and some kind of meat- no fruit available at all. There was a smell of smoke in the hall and room, although the whole place is supposed to be smoke free. Lots of noise from people outside and adjoining rooms. And to top it all off, the location itself was hard to pull out of, and you could not walk to town from there without crossing a busy road with a five point intersection and no traffic signals.

It’s a dive, even if the price were halved. When I asked front desk why no refrigerator, she replied only half the rooms get a fridge!

We were put in a room on the main floor right by where they prepare their breakfast. Starting at 4 am all we could hear was dishes clanging and talking. We have stayed here multiple times and this was the first issue we've had

Internet was slow. TV operation was inconsistent and limited

The hotel and room were very nice…but we found a used soap in the shower. That made me wonder if the shower had been cleaned! Also, for$200/night, I expected to be able to at least watch television in the evening but the “free TV”, while offering lots of choices, kept buffering and freezing up, so I gave up on watching it. The proximity to the Salmon river was amazing and enjoyed the river view room. Chairs on the balcony would have been nice.

Older style hotel is very clean and comfortable and located directly on the Salmon River. We stayed in a riverfront room, and enjoyed the view and opening the door to listen to the sound of the water. Large room, comfortable bed.

Nice hotel along the river. If you are not on the river side ask for an upper room or you will be right on the parking lot. There is a nice sitting are out by the river. A good hot breakfast is included. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown restaurants and the Shady Nook restaurant is very good and right next door.

The woman this evening running the front desk was extremely rude. We accidentally locked ourselves outside on the balcony, didn’t realize the door would do that. We called the front desk for help, she came in and unlocked the door and said “you wonder how some people function in life” then walked away. I won’t stay here again and will never recommend this place to anyone because of this rude and unprofessional woman

The front desk was awful. The older lady with curly hair rolled her eyes at me when I went ask for an extra door key and threw it at me after. Never had a service like this and it was very unprofessional. She was also rude to my family friend when she went to her for something.

Door did not have adequate locks. Front desk personnel was weird and concerning.

This has been a real treat! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Sent us to a great local Bistro for lunch and check in was smooth. The facility is very well maintained and in a great area.

Quick and efficient check in. Room is spacious with refrigerator. Welcome cookie and tea and coffee available.

Most everything was okay but the breakfast was not enough options. They also only have instant Decaf coffee instead of brewed and it was gross! We needed a new soap and towel and called from desk and they said house keeping doesn’t come in until 9. So we said we need these things and he said in a begrudgingly tone, I’ll write it down. Check out is at 11 which doesn’t give us much time. There was also only one bar of soap between 4 people for 2nights. It ran out yesterday. It’s also a sort of loud hotel. Slamming doors and loud footsteps. I know hardwood looks nice but there is no sound dampening. I did enjoy the bed though. Just the service really sucked.

The rooms were in decent condition for an older hotel. The real issue is the treatment we received from staff. Four of us (all in our 70s) booked 4 rooms for a girls trip. At checkin, the clerks seemed annoyed at our laughter and frustrated when we asked if our rooms could be near each other. The bigger problem was with our reservation. We had booked 6 rooms through Expedia and canceled 2 well in advance (Expedia confirmed). The hotel still charged a $50 cancellation fee. Even though we were paying for 4 rooms, the manager, Julie, said the only way to waive the fee was if she paid it herself. When I asked for the owner’s name to discuss this charge, Julie refused to provide it and wouldn’t disclose which other hotels this person owns. That lack of transparency was disappointing. Other issues: one room’s sliding door was unlocked upon arrival (a safety concern); we were given only 3 of 4 advertised ice cream coupons and treated like we were cheating when we asked for the 4th; 2 of us had repeated problems with key cards (5 reprograms in 3 nights) and were lectured as if it were our fault, though another staff member admitted it was a common issue. The strangest incident was staff knocking on our doors at 9 a.m. (checkout is 11) and instructing us to leave doors open after departure. We refused, as it felt unsafe. We left feeling unwelcome, unfairly charged, and blamed for problems not ours. This is the only negative hotel review I have ever written.

We stayed the night before our float trip. Close walk to dinner and the breakfast they provided was delicious. Rooms are neat, clean, and comfortable.

Great location next to the Salmon River and downtown Salmon. The property is a little dated, but well maintained. We'll stay there the next time we are in the area

The front desk staff were extremely friendly. The room and building were very clean. I enjoyed the waffle makers in the breakfast room. The rest of the breakfast was not as appealing. The coffee, however, was very good.

Right on the river was nice. Breakfast was surprisingly good since it said continental but was a hot breakfast.

From when I walked in the door to check in until I walked out with the suitcases it was great! People were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and always full. The rooms are clean and spacious and the view is amazing
