Older but clean and comfortable. No elevator but not to hard to climb stairs. Shared bathrooms were clean. Other guests were very loud and did not quiet down until early in the morning. I wish management would have asked them to turn down their portable speaker. Other than that it was a nice stay.

No frills, character hotel with shared bathroom/shower very conveniently located on market street. I really enjoyed my stay although the bed was not 100% comfortable. It was clean and felt safe.

Honestly the shared bathroom was not an issue like I thought it would be. The location was convenient and walking distance to many cafés and public transportation. We did have several bug bites after the second night, but we are unsure if it was mosquitoes or spider bites. Definitely could be a bit cleaner in the sense of having sheets that one could tell are visibly clean - patterned sheets are not the best for that, and perhaps having a bench in the shower for one to put their clothes on, but other than that, would stay here again.

I have never had a hotel without parking, without a restroom, without closet space. I went into this knowing it would be a little rough but I was not prepared. Part of that’s on me. Didn’t know I had to check for that. Staff was cool. Place was mostly long term rez and just had a dank vibe.

The Perramont Hotel is in an excellent location in terms of resource/transportation accessibility and overall safety. Just a few minutes walk away from Church street station, safeway grocery store, walgreens across the street, etc. Multiple dining and coffee options nearby as well. The bathroom and shower were shared just down the hall from my room, and no microwave/fridge in the hotel room as expected, although the room included it’s own sink. The room was very clean as well. In terms of safety and comfort, I would only book this hotel again if I were staying in the city for a couple of days, but not for a longer term stay.

I like old architectural style and this place has it. No my room didn’t have a restroom in it or shower but the ones that they had in the hallways were always very clean. I really enjoy this place and for the price I got what I needed my second time staying here I will be back.

I was not prepared for a boarding house set up. No elevator. No parking. No amenities in the room, like coffee, etc. Bathroom and shower are down the hall. I will be more careful in the future.

I had a better than expected stay here. it was in a good location, and within walking distance to downtown and my conference location. The gentleman at the front desk was really helpful and kind. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom outside and toilet was equally very clean. I would absolutely stay here again.

Horrible on all levels. The whole place smelled like it had been cleaned last time in the 2000s, the lobby doesn't exist and it barely gives you the keys. The room is dirty, stinky, door is broken, bathroom is shared and unclean. A refund would be in order.

All due respect with people that works at the reception because they are very gentle and nice. But the place is horrible. I’m gonna say exactly the DETAILS because I didn’t saw anything like that in here: I went around middle october, it was kinda hot, but in the room was very very hot. I left the window open otherwise is an oven there, but there is a barber place right on the side that was very loud, which didn’t help. There is a little tv in the room and some towels, a sink and a queen bed. The bad was horrible to sleep, I had to get a massage when I got back because I couldn’t move my back and neck. The restroom and shower are separated and is in the hallway, shared with all other rooms. The building smells like pee when you walk in, the room and the towels didn’t smell good either. The minute I walked in I tried to canceled and get a least a minimum refund and go to another place, but they have a no refund policy, I guess we know why. Anyway, girls bring your own stuff, shampoo is terrible and smell bad, and bring hair dryer they don’t have it.

The hotel is very clean and well cared for. The carpet looked new and the walls freshly painted. Nice neighborhood and easy to get around. The manager was very kind with me. I recommend for a budget traveler it had everything I needed

Kind of a crappy room. No temperature control, so I froze all night. Useless furniture. Uncomfortable chair. Creepy pillows. Only one electrical outlet. Staff was friendly, but probably won't stay again.

Staff was average. Not too friendly but not rude. Ok place if you just need a bed for the night. Walls are paper thin and i had a guy right next to me(hotel wasn’t full) that clapped his hands and banged on things, was in and out to use the shared bathroom and slammed the door every time… all night long. Keep it mind if it’s hot your only choice is to open the window (which have no screens) and you hear everything. Probably not a good place if your goal is to sleep.

The price was cheap but you definitely get what you pay for with this one. Solid wifi (after restarting router) and decent quality bed, but they didn't run the heat at night so I was really cold. Shows worked okay. I would definitely not take my GF here with me, went on my own, and I don't think I'd go here again. Staff was niceand helpful though

The minute I walked in I tried to canceled and get a least a minimum refund and go to another place, but they have a no refund policy, I guess we know why. Anyway, girls bring your own stuff, shampoo is terrible and smell bad, and bring hair dryer they don’t have it.
All due respect with people that works at the reception because they are very gentle and nice. But the place is horrible. I’m gonna say exactly the DETAILS because I didn’t saw anything like that in here: I went around middle october, it was kinda hot, but in the room was very very hot. I left the window open otherwise is an oven there, but there is a barber place right on the side that was very loud, which didn’t help. There is a little tv in the room and some towels, a sink and a queen bed. The bad was horrible to sleep, I had to get a massage when I got back because I couldn’t move my back and neck. The restroom and shower are separated and is in the hallway, shared with all other rooms. The building smells like pee when you walk in, the room and the towels didn’t smell good either. The price was cheap but you definitely get what you pay for with this one. Solid wifi (after restarting router) and decent quality bed, but they didn't run the heat at night so I was really cold. Shows worked okay. I would definitely not take my GF here with me, went on my own, and I don't think I'd go here again. Staff was niceand helpful though

I reserved and paid for this room for my young adult stepdaughter for 3 nights. The manager told her he would not give her the room because I was not there. He told her “you can see where the door is,” forcing her to leave, when she had nowhere else to stay in San Francisco at night. I called to discuss it with him and Sam was equally as rude to me. He was unwilling to help us in the situation. And he was unwilling to refund any of the three nights.

The hotel is very clean and well cared for. The carpet looked new and the walls freshly painted. Nice neighborhood and easy to get around. The manager was very kind with me. I recommend for a budget traveler it had everything I needed

The Perramont Hotel is in an excellent location in terms of resource/transportation accessibility and overall safety. Just a few minutes walk away from Church street station, safeway grocery store, walgreens across the street, etc. Multiple dining and coffee options nearby as well. The bathroom and shower were shared just down the hall from my room, and no microwave/fridge in the hotel room as expected, although the room included it’s own sink. The room was very clean as well. In terms of safety and comfort, I would only book this hotel again if I were staying in the city for a couple of days, but not for a longer term stay.

The man at the front desk was extremely helpful! I had trouble figuring out parking and he was more than willing to help me figure it out. As other reviews state, this is an older hotel with shared bathrooms and showers. The reviews honestly had me more worried than I needed to be as I had zero issues while staying here. I went to a show right next door so the location was perfect. I am a solo female traveler and I felt safe staying here. I would stay again if I had another show next door.

I love EVERYTHING about this property. It kinda gives a dated but modernized hostel. Beautiful, clean showers, very clean and updated rooms. Excellent location, here in the Castro. LOVE it!!!

I rated it 5 stars relative to the price I paid. For the price, it absolutely delivers. It's very basic and pretty much just for sleeping and showering (it has shared shower). I spent most of my time outside to be honest and it was for few days only.

Bedbugs. Completely stained bed cover. Hair in the sheets. Next to a loud bar. Dirty in general. I found a bed bug and got a refund and stayed somewhere else. Yes, it’s cheap but I wouldn’t sleep here for free.
