The room was fine and clean. Bed was comfortable. Hallways and common areas have seen better days. Some parking is offered offsite which can be inconvenient.

The parking was often full so I had to park on the road (of course there was something at the arena so there were tons of people and no parking for a few blocks away). The rooms are not really soundproof. The fan in our bathroom was broken and we could see some mold. We never stayed downtown before. Not sure if it is all the same, but at night we could hear the band playing from the bar beside (mostly the bass). This might depend on where your room is in the hotel. Breakfast was decent (I saw worse). The lobby was nice. The location is pretty central to a lot of things. Lots of restaurants close by.

Unfortunately I did not have space to park during the evening and had to park in a Tow-Away zone and pray my vehicle wasn’t towed during the night. I got up at 4am to move my vehicle to an open parking spot. The room was small but nice - and clean. There was a lot of music into the late hours from a nearby nightclub (but this was expected for the location). I would stay again.

The parking was not good however, we were provided with alternate area with parking ticket.

This was a nice little motel. The location was good. The room was small but fine for just myself. The bed was comfortable. There is limited parking, fewer spits than rooms, but there was a parking garage which is free on weekends across the street. There was a sports bar two doors down one way and a live entertainment bar two doors down the other way. There was no noise from those places in my room. You could definitely here people talking in the hallway. There was no hot water on the morning of checkout.

Stayed 10-11 May 24. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The price was reasonable. The shower was small and hard to move in. The Satellite tv was very limited. Not enough sport channels for this time of year. Staff said just google the games on your device. Couldn't get Baseball game or NHL playoffs. Didn't want to sit in the Madrocks bar attached to hotel. Parking lot is very small making parking not easy for late arrivals.

Staff are courteous and friendly and the room I have is large enough, clean and it's quiet. The good thing for me is it is conveniently located downtown close to work and shops and restaurants.

Lobby and common areas are dirty and sometimes it smells bad. The stuff was really helpful in everything.

My room was OK but the halls are definitely in need of cleaning and carpet replacement. The parking lot is quite rundown. Even though I did a complete check in online. I had to check in all over again at the front desk. Since it was late at night. I’d really hoped to just pick up my key and go to my room as advertised in ‘advance check’. I won’t stay at La Quinta again.

Would not recommend at all. We stayed in room 112 for two nights. The first night everything seemed fine aside from no tv remote but I woke up the next day very itchy with red spots. Thought maybe it was mosquitos and carried on with our day. That night, I became very itchy around my ankles and backs of my legs. Got up and investigated to find bed bugs. I captured one and brought it to the front desk. The employee moved us to the room next, 110 and stayed the manager would see us in the morning for a refund. I documented everything. Took photos of the bites. Catalogued every item we will now have to throw out or pay to have steam treated. Spoke to the manager the next morning when he arrived. Was told we would not be receiving a refund, nor any sort of assistance with our belongings that now need treatment. We are from Alberta. We now have to deal with this mess and possible contamination before heading home. Absolutely unacceptable by management. I'm covered in bites on my legs, itchy as hell.

The staff was great, super nice. the issues I had was the room it had a broken floor in the bathroom, the shower was broken the door didn’t stay closed, there was a light bulb out in there making it pretty dark, the sink tap was broken didn’t stay on,nothing had Been wiped down there was what looked to be toothpaste on the mirror and sink there where dirt marks all over the walls,the only nice thing is the bed seemed clean and the towels seemed clean. was very disappointed with the condition of the room have stayed here before and had an amazing time and everything was super clean and incredible. our room being like this during this stay to say the least was super disappointing and that doesn’t even seem like a strong enough word.

Very dirty and not maintained

There wasn’t any bed bugs in our room BUT. We had friends in another room that did have bugs. Our bedding was dirty and there was mold everywhere…

Friendly staff. Veey old. Poor cleanliness. Chemical smell to room incliding bedding and towels . Poor breakfast food quality . No recommended

The hotel itself is older and rundown, the neighbourhood is a few steps below gentrified, but the staff is friendly and the room was absolutely spotless.

Floors in room very creaky. Bathroom door blocked entry door and bathroom door wouldn’t close

Awful varnish smell in hallways and elevator. Bathroom door was very difficult to close. It was a barn door type but rolled to close on carpet. Needed two hands to close and then it didn’t close completely.

Neighbours were very noisy throughout the night. Every conversation and sound could be heard through the walls. Disappointing stay

Old building that has been renovated...wooden carpet covered floor creak...basement with breakfast flooded when it rained...parking limited...

The room was clean. The washroom was very small. The floors in the room I was in were very creaky. The safety lock on the inside of the door was broken. The bathroom door knob was stuck and I had a difficult time getting the door open.

in town for a sport tournament with 2 teens. older hotel with thin walls. waiting 15mins at desk-no one at front desk to check in. smell of marijuana on main floor. Room was clean, basic. Breakfast was very basic. went to bed hearing next room taking on the phone. was awoken by another room obviously having sexual relations. Not a restful sleep obviously! bring earplugs if you choose to stay here! price was more reasonable than other places in Oshawa. Parking around back- felt like the area was sketchy at night.

We stayed there from January 11 to the 12th. Hotel was okay, room was okay, bed and pillow very comfortable. What to say about our stay, VERY noisy. A groupe of people were going from one room to another during the night, slamming the doors and talking loudly. Doors are not soundproof. We were on the 3rd floor. Early morning, they were talking on the phone, on speaker and walking up and down the hall. I got out of the room, 2 times asking to keep quit. At 8:50 am, the music was loud in the room across, I recorded and showed the reception. People have no respect!!!

The manager Guyan, is very rude. I witnessed him yell at customers and staff on two separate occasions. Very unprofessional.

Fast check in and out, friendly staff, clean rooms

They would debit your card for damages without consulting you..I was charged $60 xtra for spilling coffee on a face towel without consulting me and this is aside the $250 bond withheld from my card. When i saw the debit and asked why there was an unauthorized debit of $60 on my card, I was told I damaged their ‘used face towel’. Manager said ‘that is their policy and nothing can be done, I can report to head office if I want. Anyways. am never going there again and I will tell anyone I come across never to patronize them again. Might mean nothing to them but that is what am going to be doing from now on. I spent 3 days in the hotel FYI.

I've stayed at this LaQuinta before and always found the place to be wonderfully convenient, and affordable. I think last night was just an off night as the other guests were really loud. Check in was a breeze and the young lady that handled the process (September 20, 2023), I can't recall her name sorry,please make sure she receives the recognition, was fantastic!

Front desk staff were super friendly.

After the first night we didn’t get our room cleaned and the cleaning staff put a card on our door. It said they were unable to clean our room because we had a do not disturb card on the door. Our room doesn’t have a do not disturb card. I went to discuss this with the front desk and they said it would be “taken care of”, the next day, same thing. 3 days, no cleaning, no new towels. After that I went to the front desk again and the front desk staff looked in their binder where the first person had made a note of our complaint and said our room would be cleaned. Still nothing was done. We had one set of towels for 2 people. Ridiculous! After speaking with them on the phone and in person, still nothing was done to remedy the problem. It’s a failure of the cleaning staff and the front desk staff and there’s no manager available at any time.

Great spot for walking to restaurants and other stores. Pretty good facility and service for the price.

It was in a rough area… but I was grateful to see a security guard out front when I returned that evening. It was a good deal. Comfortable bed- but was a bit noisy. White noise machine helped!! Staff was very friendly!

This hotel is downtown Oshawa and right beside a bar. And apparently a men’s hostel or homeless shelter. We arrived late - midnight on a Friday of a long weekend. There were lots of people hanging around outside the hotel. Plus a lot of people hanging out at the back door of the hotel where the parking lot is - inside and out. We had to walk around the bar to front of hotel from parking lot to check in. Most people we encountered were drunk or high and very loud. We felt unsafe outside the hotel and inside the hallway and even in our room. It is an old building and paper thin walls with even the slightest movement- walking in the room above or talking anywhere can be heard in our room. Probably a great place if you want to party and be up all night. The safest area I felt was in the lobby because there was a person at the desk and it was locked. The staff were friendly and helpful though. I slept a bit better knowing that the lobby was locked and there was a front desk person there. The back door was just down from our room though and people were coming a going from though. Rough night and a ridiculous price on Expedia for what we got. We did not stay the second night and were not able to cancel because we got there so late cause of our flight.That coupled with my disaster of a car rental booking (flight delayed so rental company (economy car rentals at Pearson) canceled my PREPAID rental. My Expedia experience this trip has been awful. Not happy with this hotel or Expedia.

Super central to downtown, parking is a bit confusing. Good experience overall.

Good location

It was close to our evening at the regent theatre

A good little room for the price, honestly nicer than I was expecting. There was a rip in the carpet near the bathroom door, a dresser handle was broken & our mini fridge was either broken or not plugged in. Those are all the Negatives really. Our phone did ring at 6:30am though and we didn’t ask for a wakeup call so maybe mute your phone if you stay here. Everything in the Free breakfast was good except for the eggs, so if you stay here I would avoid them. The Fitness centre was small but I was still able to get my workouts in that I needed. Overall would recommend if your looking for an affordable room.

Decent room with good room amenities. Common areas (like hallways) are quite dated, old and comes across as dirty. So-called included breakfast is exceedingly austere.

There was a pub next to the hotel with music banging on our walls until 1am. Neither Expedia not the hotel advised that this might be an issue at the time of booking. Staff- angry, argumentative, humiliated us in front of other guests. Asked us to leave the premises. Food- stale bread and bagels, juices unavailable Parking - very limited. Other parking lot is a block away so you walk with kids and luggage in freezing temperatures. Never going back again.

All went well. Everything offered was as promised. Parking was good,. room access was good. Staff was very efficient, cooperative and good-natured. Breakfast was standard but quite decent. Quality was very high, considering the economical price. I was pleasantly surprised

Great stay! So close to everywhere we were going and very friendly staff. The rooms were great! Had no complaints at all except the juice machine was broken at breakfast. Other than that, the stay was awesome! They even have a little store to buy drinks and snacks!

No printed bill at check out to advise what final charges were for rooms - nobody at desk upon checkout waited for person to arrive took our keys - no printed bill offered. Awaiting final billing on credit card. Very disappointing. Hallways & stairwells dirty. Guests smoking directly outside doors - very unpleasant. 2 Lightbulbs burnt out in our room. No tongs to pick up bread/bagels on breakfast buffet. "Communal" serving spoon for self serving ones scrambled eggs.

The service was very professionnal at the front desk. The 1rst room I was assigned did not work out because I am allergic to mold and my throat was sore after 5 minutes. When I reported it, I was immediately told that if I could wait an hour they would take the time to clean one on the 2nd floor. Thank you for this. Also the breakfast was OK.

The staff were a pleasure to deal with. The room, bed, bath were very clean. There's definitely room for a facelift - carpet, doors, trims, etc, but the cleanliness was more important. Lovely breakfast in the morning with lots of variety was much appreciated. Screaming babies and children in other rooms until after 11:00 p.m. wasn't great.

Stayed 3 nights for a medical appointment for our son. The room was clean, roomy, modern and comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent and came around 10am every day and happily replenished any needed items, asked if we needed the room cleaned (sheets changed, room vacuumed, etc.). Our only complaint was breakfast. The first morning there was very little selection an nobody was topping it up. The two days after that, it was better; but still poor selection. There are no waffles, despite being pictured online. There was some missing things, like butter for the toast, a serving spoon for the scrambled eggs. It was still okay though. And honestly, for the price of the room/overall quality of the room; I'd stay again regardless of the breakfast.

Load and noisy. The bar next door is a attached building, and could hear the music until 2am. Breakfast was minimal and eggs and cereal only, eggs tasted terrible.
