easy checkin, lovely room, immaculate All staff friendly and willing to make your stay as best it can be . We stayed on a Sunday evening, food service finished too early for us to take advantage and be aware bar closes early too. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall would recommend staying just check serving times for your stay.

Nice hotel, room well equipped, breakfast service was slow and only one cereal available, if you love spiders theres a big one in its web in the velxlux window above the stairs that lead up to the rooms. Other than that good value for £70 a night bnb but not great when saturday prices are £167 bnb on a Saturday night. Down side to was reception didnt open until 10 am on a Saturday even though sign said 9am. Would feel better if receotion was maned 24/7

From the moment of arrival the hotel and its staff were perfect, such a clean, bright and lovely hotel...awesome views, so peaceful too xx inclusive breakfast was so filing... the nights we stayed we ate at the sister hotel Horse and Jockey, superb menu and even with a shuttle service offered too... couldn't ask for more..

Another restful stay at this lovely hotel. It’s always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The bar /restaurant is excellent. We normally stay weekdays and it’s pretty quiet but it’s a near perfect wedding/party venue so I would imagine it’s pretty busy and maybe not so restful at the weekends. It’s situated near but not in the Peak District in lovely surroundings. Hopefully we’ll be back again sometime.

It's such a lovely spot and the room was spacious, super clean and with a view out to the lovely surrounding area. The bed was also very comfy and the pillow too, and this from someone who is princess and the pea with her pillows! I also got a really great rate for my one night stay.

Wonderful place to stay. The room was clean, bright, & spacious. The bar was very cosy, & the food was really tasty. The staff were also very friendly & helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Paid extra for a superior suite which was right over the front door which wasn’t working properly so slammed every time someone went in or out and didn’t close properly at night so anyone had access to the hotel. There was a fight between drunken wedding guests outside our room at 1:30am no staff on duty at night so just had to put up with it. Fire alarm went off again no staff on duty called the emergency number which just went to voicemail which is really useful in an emergency guests didn’t have a clue what to do or where to go. Paid nearly £200 for my worst nights sleep ever and wouldn’t recommend

Another really comfortable stay in quality surroundings and a warm welcome from the staff. The Hart Suite is cosy and welcoming with great views over the surrounding countryside. My first choice of hotel when heading north or south as it’s very conveniently located near the M1 - but feels much further away thanks to its tranquil location. I look forward to the next time…thank you. MW.

Spacious room, comfy bed, quiet area as in the middle of nowhere. We very much enjoyed breakfast, too. The not as good: -we couldn't get the jets on the bath to work -soap at the sink ran out after the first use, but there was plenty of one in the shower so we didn't bother asking for replacement -the TV has very long response time - you press the button on the remote and nothing happens for at least 15-20 seconds. Overall, very good value for money.

Room was excellent. Such a shame I was forgotten about in the restaurant. 40 minutes from ordering then brought my main before my starter. Then another 10 minutes wait fat starter. Then my main course which had obviously been kept warming!

We liked the outlook from our rooms, found the pillows a bit hard but thats a personal preference. Meal was lovely in the evening and so was the breakfast. Bit dodgy driving down the country lanes to get to you but worth it once we got to you, will definitely stay again.

Another really comfortable stay in quality surroundings and a warm welcome from the staff. The Hart Suite is cosy and welcoming with great views over the surrounding countryside. My first choice of hotel when heading north or south as it’s very conveniently located near the M1 - but feels much further away thanks to its tranquil location. I look forward to the next time…thank you. MW.

Brilliant stay for my birthday at the white hart . Staff were polite and friendly the hotel was very clean and set in beautiful surrounding evening mean and breakfast was lovely ,loads to go and see in the surrounding area , highly recommended .

Another restful stay at this lovely hotel. It’s always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The bar /restaurant is excellent. We normally stay weekdays and it’s pretty quiet but it’s a near perfect wedding/party venue so I would imagine it’s pretty busy and maybe not so restful at the weekends. It’s situated near but not in the Peak District in lovely surroundings. Hopefully we’ll be back again sometime.

Spacious room, comfy bed, quiet area as in the middle of nowhere. We very much enjoyed breakfast, too. The not as good: -we couldn't get the jets on the bath to work -soap at the sink ran out after the first use, but there was plenty of one in the shower so we didn't bother asking for replacement -the TV has very long response time - you press the button on the remote and nothing happens for at least 15-20 seconds. Overall, very good value for money.

Room was excellent. Such a shame I was forgotten about in the restaurant. 40 minutes from ordering then brought my main before my starter. Then another 10 minutes wait fat starter. Then my main course which had obviously been kept warming!

We liked the outlook from our rooms, found the pillows a bit hard but thats a personal preference. Meal was lovely in the evening and so was the breakfast. Bit dodgy driving down the country lanes to get to you but worth it once we got to you, will definitely stay again.

easy checkin, lovely room, immaculate All staff friendly and willing to make your stay as best it can be . We stayed on a Sunday evening, food service finished too early for us to take advantage and be aware bar closes early too. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall would recommend staying just check serving times for your stay.

Fantastic room with a Spa bath. Really good sized room with toileteries and refreshments in the fridge. The restaurant was lovely as well and well worth using. Would stay again.

Great service from staff. Evening dinner and breakfast was not great at all. Had to complain as wasn’t nice and had to leave it some of the food wasn’t fresh was warmed up!!

Wonderful place to stay. The room was clean, bright, & spacious. The bar was very cosy, & the food was really tasty. The staff were also very friendly & helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

One night stay. Room was a very good size, very good shower and all you need including tea, coffee. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I’m in the area. Highly recommended

Stayed for 2 nights, we weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel room. Even with a wedding party taking place, the room was quiet. All facilities were good and the air conditioning was a blessing.

Beautiful Inn in a lovely rural location. The property is in excellent condition with all the amenities you could ever need. My room was spacious with a lovely bathroom and the all important air conditioning in this warm weather. I ate in the restaurant and the food wasn’t quite as good as the venue. I had salmon steaks. The recipe and flavours were good but unfortunately the vegetables were a bit too al dente and the boiled potatoes were basically hard. Breakfast was ok. The restaurant needs to be improved up to the level of the Inn itself.

Booked at last minute to meet our daughter and grandchildren in Matlock over the weekend. Good quiet location with only a 15-20 min drive from Matlock. Price (£63) for 1 night was very good and as a bonus included breakfast which was cooked fresh including coffee etc. The only downside as far as I could see was the carpet of our bedroom was seeing better days and was a bit grubby and could either do with a 'professional steam clean/vac' or be replaced. Other than the above we'd certainly consider staying there again if we visit the area again in the future.
