Excellent location... office close by 9 pm at the ice machine is there. I recommended to put in other place so guest has access to the ice.

Rooms are clean, a tad small but ok for q couple nights. Parking is a bit tight especially if you have a full size truck like we did. Easy to walk

Excellent location right on the boardwalk. Steps to the beach and walkable to dining options and the pier. Older motel but well kept. Our room had a separate bedroom with its own TV as well as a sofa and queen bed in the main room. Also had coffee maker in room and small refrigerator. Office manager offered advice on places to eat and places to visit. Ice machine in office and some limits on how much ice you could get. Would highly recommend this motel and would stay there again.

The view to the beach was stunning. Bbq area awesome with the beach in the background close.

Great location, view, and parking!

I've stayed here before a few years back but never in the room I was recently in. Also, the outside has changed dramatically. I did not like that they changed out the outdoor fire pit for a dolphin statue. It was so nice to sit out there on the cool nights. This time it was just my husband and I so we downsized to the smallest room available and it was so incredibly small it was horrible. There were limitedcoutlets, you had to unplug either the fridge or microwave to run the coffee pot. Unplug the clock to charge a phone. The room was so warm in the afternoon with no AC we had to leave it or leave the door open. Not worth the amount we paid, but I get it, you pay for the veiw and location. The grounds need upgrades and the rooms to compete with the other places close by.

View is amazing, the rooms were pretty decent. The patio area was a plus. Michael in the office was friendly and helpful and our check in and check out was quite fast. 5stars from me

Our vacation was wonderful with convenient and safe parking, great amenities in the room and a beautiful view of the ocean. Check-in was quick with Michael, who accommodated us with excellent service and professionalism. He gave us some great tips on places to eat and nearby attractions to see. We will definitely be back!

Room was clean, staff was helpful, location was perfect

We like this place for the convenience. We park and don't have to leave in the car at all until vacation ends. But the floor was dirty we could feel the same grinding when we walked in and when we got back from a day at the beach then shower drain wasn't working! We went down to front office and no one was there finally someone came and the manager took 15 min to get a hold of. And then they said they called the plumber and it would be 30min minimum before he arrives. We were full of sand and dirty. We decide to change and go to dinner and get back and still not ready plumber is working on and then the owner asks me why we bought sand and told us 2 days ago it was fine and now it's not. We reminded him that we just arrived and checked in today and only 1 of 5 of us got to shower and it was not draining. It would have to have been days of sand pile up. We left again to let them finish come back and now it's 2hrs later and they're cleaning up. Unfortunately, it wasn't fixed. He couldn't give us a new room and only offered us to shower in another room THE NEXT MORNING. My husband demanded we be given a new room now or a room to shower now not tomorrow morning. Mind you it's now 830pm tired and dirty and the thought of going to bed like that felt horrendous especially after paying $300 for a room. Plumber told owner also that this wasn't us. That didn't help he was not being helpful. Finally he agreed to give us another room so that we could shower he allowed us until 10pm.

The location is perfect. However this property is badly in need of renovations. It’s a no go for me when the shower doesn’t drain and you have to shower in standing water. The staff, which lives onsite in an upstairs unit, were very friendly.

Here's what I like. Location! It's right at the beach. It's around the corner from Pomeroy and all the good restaurants and shops. But...it definitely lives up to the "motel" name. It's old, low ceilings. A year ago, we found a dead roach - which means the bug spray is working. This trip, the roach was alive in our room - gross. The shower head barely spits out any water. And our friends next door had mold all over the bathroom window. While it's a great location, I didn't feel clean when I left. I know they try - just didn't execute.

Super close to everything, the property is nice, and the staff was great. The only complaint we had was the floor in our room was not mopped and after we showered our feet turned black… had to ask the front desk to run in and mop while we went to dinner.

Clean and comfortable. Proximity to the Pier and beach was perfect and saved a ton on parking.

The room was very clean and looked like it was just remodeled. First time I've seen a ceiling fan/light with a remote in a motel. I slept like a baby. Right on the beach and super short walk to the pier and restaurant's. I would definitely stay there again.

The view from the room was beautiful! Loved the fresh ocean air coming in through the windows! Room and bathroom were clean! No complaints! Choosing a place off a web search can be risky, but I was impressed! Would love to stay a here again! Perfect location right on the beach! Could not ask for more!

Great location and very clean.

Loved the hotel! But the floors were not cleaned. Our feet were black and even when i spilled water on floor the paper is black. I will be staying again because I love love this hotel! Everything else was clean and very presentable. Thank you so much Dolphin Cove!

Hotel was right along beach, but that was the only highlight!! There was NO A/C and the room was sweaty hot. There was one window that opened in the bathroom, but it was next to dumpsters and didn’t provide much air flow through room. Room fan was on remote system, but had to turn on light switch to make it work. A tower fan was in tiny closet, but only button that worked was timer feature which didn’t even turn on the fan so it was pointless. There were very few plugins unless you unplugged the mini fridge or coffee maker. The room was so small that our luggage wouldn’t fit between the queen bed and dresser. My spouse and I had to take turns passing though the room because it was so tiny. The bathroom had lots of brown on walls, on blow dryer cord, and on baseboard; could have been sand and/or rust starting. Guy in office was not friendly, even when he came to install a mini air conditioner after much complaining. We tried to get money back after being there maybe 30 minutes, but office guy refused and offered to put a note on file for next time… there will NEVER be a next time even if it were a free stay! Would not recommend to friends or anyone!!!

We loved our stay at Dolphin Cove. Our queen room was tiny, but we weren’t in there much anyway! No A/C in room but it did have 2 fans. Not ideal as I like my room cold to sleep, but was ok for one night. Being right on the beach made up for everything. I would definitely stay there again

Right beside Pismo beach jetty. Although property is not new, it’s okay. Space is tight in the room with no space for a second luggage.

The motel itself was not in bad condition but, the AC did not work and it was pretty small. There is little air flow inside as well. Thankfully there was a big ceiling fan in the main room. The staff at the front desk are nice, but are very dismissive. When I tried to get the attention of one of the cleaners for help they hurried inside to hide from me. The location is perfect! Literally right next to the beach and a short walk to the pier and shops! I would recommend to a couple but not to a family with more than two kids.

I’ll start with the positive, as there are some wonderful attributes about this property. First and foremost you are literally right on the beach. One step out of the parking lot and you’re walking in sand. The location right downtown is really convenient to places you want to shop, eat, or just be touristy. Everything is within walking distances of a mile or less. The rooms were a little small, but very clean. Now what I consider the major downside with the “Cove” is there is no air-conditioning in the room. That wouldn’t be so bad, but the rooms also don’t have windows that open just paned glass. And I can tell you that it doesn’t matter how mild thr weather is, if you can’t get the air circulating inside the room, it doesn’t matter. Now they did have multiple fans stowed in the closet and a large ceiling fan. But after a while it’s just blowing hot air around. We would keep our door open until 10:00 so it would cool down a bit so we could sleep. I’d tell you how warm the room was but the thermostat was dangling on the wall. Let’s put it this way, my wife and I were both sweating in the room. Also, most of the guests were outside well into the evening as they didn’t want to be inside their rooms.

Great location, clean and comfortable. You can hear footsteps from upper units which was the only downside.

We got room 8 which was on a corner and it had good views and we loved that we didn’t have to move our car to go to the pier because the pier was just around the corner. The room was clean and had extra blankets and pillows. It was a bit noisy from the people upstairs and there was also another noise that was very present, probably from the restaurant next store. Overall good hotel but if you like privacy then this is not the place because there are people walking past at all times, we had to close our curtains because people kept looking inside.

Great views, rooms were small but clean

The location cannot be beat! Literally steps away from the pier, beach, restaurants and downtown, we did not have to move our car once during our visit. Our second floor room had a view of the ocean, and we could hear the waves all night. Parking was easy and Wi-Fi was fast. That said, the property is tired, walls are thin, bed so-so and our room was quite small. For the price, it was perfect. If you are looking for luxury you might want to upgrade.

The only reason I’m not happy is people is to loud after hrs. When I call the office never answer.

Everything was basically fine except check in. I received my key at 4:30pm and went to my room to find the door open and the room not cleaned. Come back in half an hour and it will be ready. Room was not ready until 6:30pm.

The beds were not comfortable. Mr. Gupta, Manager was rude and said, “you Americans just want to take everything.” Just because I asked for an hour later check out time. So we ended up checking out on time at 11 am. Didn’t want to be charged extra. Also, we paid $281 for ocean view and only had view of parking lot.

The location is absolutely amazing beachfront/steps from the pier/walking distance to downtown and even with the amazing location, Jimmy at check-in managed to be the best part of the visit. We are already planning our next stay.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. I had a late check in and they took the time to call to ensure I was coming. I also forgot my key on the second night of my stay and they did picked up my call after hours and let me inside my room. Location is right on the beach near the boardwalk and conveniently located to the shops, bars, restaurants and the Pismo Beach Pier

Nothing fancy. But you can’t beat the location. Walking distance from the beach shopping and the main area of Pismo Beach. If you are looking to stay in the room on vacation pick another place if you are looking for just to stay and sleep. You can’t beat this location.

My second time staying here..easy check in, pleasant staff..ocean is steps away, so is the pier! Will definitely be back!

When you book a room with an ocean view, it's a bit deceiving. If you're on ground level, you mostly see carsin the parking lot.

Perfect location. Older motel but well kept. Small rooms but you didn’t come here for the room . You came to see the Beach and it right on it. Close to pier and everything in walking distance. You can hear the water break.
