The staff was generally pretty nice people. The hotel itself needs work. The rooms need to be bigger and they need to update the outlets to include USB cord usage. The bathroom only came with one wash cloth for two people. We had to ask for more. They only provided us with one key card that stopped working after one day and had to be reprogrammed. Also, the sheets at first seemed clean but once you start actually separating the layers, you can tell the sheets are permanently stained. The tv situation was as lack luster. It required us to make an account to access the smart tv portion. I’ve been to hotels that atleast have more than 5 basic channels. Also, no vending machines. If you wanted a snack they were behind the desk and you had to pay like 5 or 6 dollars for a bag of chips and a canned soda. No breakfast either. I know breakfast isn't always guaranteed but just a suggested additional amenity.

There was young kids who were from the homeless shelter who were camping out in front of the room where I booked They were noisy and loitering the hallways I ended up leaving 2am it was disturbing and loud, do I qualify for a refund?? They ice machine was broken and the room didn’t have what was listed as in toiletries and comfort, there was a small odor in the room.

The room was tiny, and had a broken lamp on the wall, but was good enough for what I needed (a place to crash after the fireworks). The parking is not good, so prepare for that but otherwise it'll serve its purpose for a quick overnight stay.

This is a lovely new hotel. I'm giving it only 4 stars because THERE IS NO COFFEE AVAILABLE IN-ROOM OR IN THE LOBBY. This is stupidly short-sighted on the part of management. COFFEE is expected in American hotels for $100 bucks a night. Actually at any price.

The website of the property advertises free breakfast, free coffee and a business center, none of which are true. They have none of those. The elevator door of the floor where we stayed had graffiti in it, and while we were in the room, the hotel staff knocked at everyone's doors and told us they had some men coming in to repair the blinds. Why they had to do that while the room is still occupied is beyond me. The pillows are flat and not sure about the cleanliness of the beddings. No coffee maker in unit. The only nice thing is the bathroom which seems renovated, but there was no separate handsoap (you use the liquid body soap in the shower), no hair dryer. Also it's walkable to several small restaurants. If we were not in urgent need of a room to stay in Brooklyn and too tired to travel to Manhattan we would not have stayed in this hotel. For a basic room that we had, the room rate of $250 a night wasn't worth it and clearly overpriced Will not stay here again. Will most likely not recommend,

Small and Basic room. No wow behind it. If you plan to just sleep there and spend all day doing activities, it's a great spot. Only 4 parking spots and limited side street parking. You will be driving around a bit looking for parking.

Overall ots not thw worst hotel, looked nice. The walls are SUPER tjon so i heard a lot of stuff ar night from the hallway and other rooms. My biggesr complain is the bed sheets. Eavh layer was stained and one even had cigarette burns. It was very hard to feel clean and sleep.

The room was a nice size, but it was filthy. Grouting in the bathroom was stained, the shower was grimy and the floor was filthy in the room. There was a used band aid on the floor so it also clearly wasn’t swept. Other than that it was quiet and cheap, but I got what I paid for.

This property is in a fairly convenient area, it’s on a bus line & easy to get to if you’re driving. There’s no parking. I got a $115 ticket, but that’s a me problem. The property itself was not well maintained. My room had peeling wallpaper, mold, and what I assume was water damage and more mold under the air conditioning unit. Also it smelled funny.

Pictures looked way better then reality. Small rooms, very uncomfortable beds, super tiny pillows (literally like a toddler pillow). Our bathroom door wouldn’t close, the curtain wouldn’t come down in our room, hallways were super smelly. Location was fine, close to 5th ave and a lot of stores and places for food, but we drove everywhere we went because we went to nicer neighborhoods to walk around and eat. Wouldn’t stay here again.

the hotel was great, it even has some parking spaces in the front if you are crazy enough(as us) to drive to NY!! One plus is that I mistakenly booked the day before our trip so I called them and they agreed to give me credit for the next day, The room was well designed, modern and clean, the bed was comfortable, the only minus is that it did not have darkening curtains. After further inspection I saw that it did have them before but they were removed. The room was spacious by NY standards!

Stayed in so many rooms here over time I can confirm that almost all rooms have comfortable beds and w normal pillows. Havent mentioned in other reviews and it’s not appreciated enough that most of their bedsheets (and obv towels) are all cotton. Rooms are all almost identical, just small things vary room to room. I tend to like the smaller rooms usually but they are all slightly different in small ways, If you come just for one or 2 nights it won’t even influence your experience probably it’s just stuff that can add up if you’re staying 3 nights or more (but they have daily housekeeping and don’t make you wait for hours if you need to change towels or anything like that kkke in some hotels. They’re very normal when it comes to this No problems at all when it comes to that at all , worst case scenario you’ll go downstairs and pick up whet u need if it’s some cray hour in the morning and housekeeping is doing other rooms etc /less # of staff. Elevator is quick here plus there are stairs it’s not a big hotel it’s all compact but enough room for all guests not to feel on top of each other

Loud noise throughout the night made it hard to sleep. I could hear people through the walls screaming. Doors would slam and people would stomp on the stairs. Mattress was too hard. Bright lights shone through the curtains from across the street.

The room was not exactly shown on the picture. The infrastructure such as toilet and lights were not working great. The room also had low wifi signal. Noise was also loud. I was in the basement area instead of higher level.

Not a good wxperience apparwntly i could not have visitors for a few hours. My family came by to see me and the unfriendly staff kicked them oit and threatened to kick me out. I was so turned off about it i wound up leaving and did not stay the night

During our stay at the King Hotel, a pipe leak near the bathroom caused water to spread across the floor, which led to my wife slipping and falling. When she tried to steady herself, the bathroom barn door— which was not properly secured at the bottom and came off its track, making the fall even worse. We immediately went to the front desk, but the attendant offered no real assistance. He couldn’t provide an incident report and told us we would need to wait several hours for a manager. We ended up writing our own statement on a scrap of paper and had the employee sign it, all while recording the process on video for proof. This experience was extremely unprofessional. The hotel took no responsibility for the situation and couldn’t even provide a proper incident report. Be cautious… your stay here is truly at your own risk.

It is a very nice place and the associate Kevin was very welcoming and kind. The only issue was it took me an hour to find parking.
It is a very nice place and the associate Kevin was very welcoming and kind. The only issue was it took me an hour to find parking.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel seemed to have updated the rooms and bathrooms recently. A special thank you goes to the gentlemen that work the desk, very pleasant and always ready to help. No morning coffee available, but they are working on that. They also let us check-in a little early, without an extra charge. Thank you also to the friendly cleaning ladies.

The staff during our stay was never at the front. You had to wait at least 10 minutes before they appeared and if there was any issues you would have to wait for him to appear because the phone wouldn't have anyone to answer and no bell or anything to notify someone that we needed assistance. Also steer clear of this hotel if you want to book a double bed room above first floor. All their double beds are underground and anything first floor and up are queen sized.

The staff were amazing, the room was clean and comfortable. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distance and we felt safe at all hours. A bit of a hike to the subway, but still manageable. We did not have a car, but there seemed to be ample parking around.

A very basic hotel, but had a great time here. There’s a ton of restaurants within walking distance and sunset park is a very diverse neighborhood and had a cool vibe. There’s a couple train stops a few blocks away and make getting anywhere in the city easy. I’d stay here again for sure. It’s almost a mix between an apartment and a hotel

The staff was generally pretty nice people. The hotel itself needs work. The rooms need to be bigger and they need to update the outlets to include USB cord usage. The bathroom only came with one wash cloth for two people. We had to ask for more. They only provided us with one key card that stopped working after one day and had to be reprogrammed. Also, the sheets at first seemed clean but once you start actually separating the layers, you can tell the sheets are permanently stained. The tv situation was as lack luster. It required us to make an account to access the smart tv portion. I’ve been to hotels that atleast have more than 5 basic channels. Also, no vending machines. If you wanted a snack they were behind the desk and you had to pay like 5 or 6 dollars for a bag of chips and a canned soda. No breakfast either. I know breakfast isn't always guaranteed but just a suggested additional amenity.

This is a lovely new hotel. I'm giving it only 4 stars because THERE IS NO COFFEE AVAILABLE IN-ROOM OR IN THE LOBBY. This is stupidly short-sighted on the part of management. COFFEE is expected in American hotels for $100 bucks a night. Actually at any price.

Everything about this hotel was amazing. Really would book another stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly. The only thing i would like have next time is breakfast being served for the guest but overall i will be booking my stay at this hotel when i am visiting New York again.

The website of the property advertises free breakfast, free coffee and a business center, none of which are true. They have none of those. The elevator door of the floor where we stayed had graffiti in it, and while we were in the room, the hotel staff knocked at everyone's doors and told us they had some men coming in to repair the blinds. Why they had to do that while the room is still occupied is beyond me. The pillows are flat and not sure about the cleanliness of the beddings. No coffee maker in unit. The only nice thing is the bathroom which seems renovated, but there was no separate handsoap (you use the liquid body soap in the shower), no hair dryer. Also it's walkable to several small restaurants. If we were not in urgent need of a room to stay in Brooklyn and too tired to travel to Manhattan we would not have stayed in this hotel. For a basic room that we had, the room rate of $250 a night wasn't worth it and clearly overpriced Will not stay here again. Will most likely not recommend,

Nothing really wrong with it, just manage your expectations. I knew what I was getting when I booked. You should, too. TLDR: Staff was chill, location was fine, room was as advertised (mid). In case you want to be told: -room was in the basement so my cellular barely worked -wi-fi also clocked in at about 750 kbps (not enough to even check your email), so when in room I made due by sitting on the windowsill and reaching towards the sky with my phone -stinky basement room, as you would expect -why stinky? well that probably has to do with the shower door that won't close all the way causing a big puddle to form in the bathroom, but I suspect there may be a deeper issue with a leak Any other things can really just be chalked up to "budget hotel, manage expectations" like, you have to ask for a blowdrier, or, they don't have umbrellas. Also most of my complaints had to do with being in a basement room, so I really can't speak to the quality upstairs. I don't care about noise at a hotel, and it's kind of silly that some reviewers put so much weight in that category. Location wise, it is about ten minutes walk to the subway, which is totally fine. You are about 20 minutes from the city. Would not recommend if you are planning on visiting Brooklyn or Queens more than Manhattan, as those are a longer train ride. Definitely don't count on parking. But you should avoid bringing a car to New York anyway, let's be real.
