A nice, family run hotel within easy walking distance from the town and the seafront. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Nice garden at the rear of the hotel. Dog friendly. Room was clean and nicely presented,a great shower and good lighting in the bathroom though the room got a bit warm, even with the window open - having a fan available in the room would be a welcome addition. Had a great stay.

Hotel clean and tidy. Nice modern bathroom , just a lack of storage. Service only average. Think hotel is missing a massive trick. NO bar staff ( honesty bar whats all that about ) Lovely conservatory and garden which nobody used while we were there. I know the economy is struggling but at the prices charged per night more staff required

Quite an old building but every room is unique and full of character and maintained in excellent order. The staff work as a team and it shows in the polished service on offer. Special commendation to Maxine for her tips on where to visit.

Unfortunately, our sleep was disturbed evening (11.30 pm) and morning (6.00 am) by the noise of water in the sinks and showers from adjoining rooms, and on the first morning by housekeeping coming into the room whilst still in bed. We booked an impromptu couple of nights away and randomly found this wonderful gem of a hotel. Such a friendly, clean and comfortable place to spend the weekend within easy walking distance to the town and seafront. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and we had everything we needed. The perfect place to spend a couple of relaxing nights away.

A lovely hotel- immaculate inside - a lot of thought gone into the decor. Friendly welcoming hosts . Only one thing in the single room there wasn’t space for a bedside lamp/ table and the light switch for the room was by the door and the bathroom light above the bed! Overall a delightful place.

Great stay for me and my family and two dogs - great location a short walk from Sidmouth front and beach. Friendly, helpful service throughout - particularly from young waitress at breakfast who was so cheery, pleasant and helpful. Really loved Sidmouth and this hotel.

We were given a friendly welcome, shown where the bar, restaurant were. We were in room 2, which was spotlessly clean. Staff were excellent and even though it is dog friendly it did not smell of dogs. There are hens in the garden for fresh eggs. Would certainly stay again. It is a very short walk to the seafront so ideal if you like swimming in the sea.

Best thing was the friendly and helpful staff, and nice food, but a bit overpriced. ( dinner £35). No food available midday, not even bar snacks. Comfortable bed but furnishings and furniture in our room very random, ill-matched and tired-looking, wood-chip wallpaper, too many cushions! No fancy toiletries as promised, just hand wash and shower gel, cramped shower room. I would not describe this hotel as “ boutique “ which suggests fashionable and sophisticated, it definitely wasn’t, we were somewhat disappointed.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and run a well organised small hotel.We would recommend to family and friends without hesitation. Only and only a small downside we would have preferred choice of time for dinner rather than a set time of 7pm. However this would not stop us from returning in the future.
