Overall, the stay was pretty good. My big negative comments are the walls are paper thin and you hear every word next door, could even hear the phone ring! And the floors aren’t much better, heard every footstep on the floor above. There are train tracks next to the building too. So every morning at about 6 AM there is a train that came through there blowing its whistle. If we had a room in the top floor on the side of the building away from the railroad tracks, then I would have rated it a 4.5 star. But when you can’t sleep due to the loud conversation next door and the kids running around upstairs, and then woken up at 6am by the train, then the experience was more a 2 or 3 star.

Perfect location, great room with everything we needed. Fabulous breakfast buffet! Only complaint is dim lighting in the bathroom area. I truly don't understand that decision.

The building and location was perfect. Good breakfast as well! My only complaint was the air conditioning wasn’t working properly in our room. It was cool but it was very damp. The paper map that I had was “wet” from laying on the table. Something isn’t working correct to remove the humidity.

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff. And the hotel was clean and beautiful. Our room was comfortable and we had an amazing view of the Iowa State Capitol. AMAZING! The pool area was clean and fun! The breakfast was delicious! Easy walking distance to lots of places and dining. We picked Hessen Haus and would go back every time. Hands down a great trip thanks to the hospitality of the hotel and HH. I would add lotion to the amenities and maybe some seltzer waters for purchase. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
