Unfortunately, our first room had cockroaches, a completely ripped-off flyscreen, and a non-working AC. After requesting a change, we were moved to another room, but the AC still didn’t work, and the beds were so uncomfortable that we barely slept. We wouldn’t come back. Breakfast was basically just toast from a shared fridge. On the bright side, the reception staff were friendly. Shared bathrooms were not dirty.

The room was clean and lovely, as was the shared bathrooms and kitchenette. The aircon kept the room cool, with good blackout curtains allowing a solid sleep in.

Charming place, great vibe, great staff, room was lovely, food was great too!! The live band playing that night was also awesome!! the only fault is that the bathroom light is on a timer & it went out half way through my shower so I had to finish shaving my legs in the dark!!

Fantastic pub stay hotel. Way better than I expected. Modern, clean and welcoming. Cracking pub with great staff. Free continental breakfast( help yourself) but note there’s no on suite bathrooms even if site may suggest that. Communal bathroom and toilets spotless. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, top marks to Nick and staff.

Our stay was wonderful, they have complementary breakfast (milk, juice. bread, cereals and yoghurt) bathrooms were slightly squishy but great pressure and hot water. Friendly staff and really accommodating.

Room and facilties clean. I\'d stay again. Confusion though on checkin. The cheapest room description said "shared bathroom" but my slightly more expensive room didn\'t have the same description. Turns out they are all shared bathroom. My room came with a sink, that was the difference.

The best Pub stay I have had. The band playing downstairs was loud but very good also. Having a dining area and kitchen upstairs was a bonus.

Great astics old looked old school. Very clean, beds a little hard. Shared bathroom for all rooms. Showers where amazing nice and hot. Downside heater/aircon did not work asked bar staff if they could look at this they never showed up, NIL heating for the night. Breakfast included was a litle kitchenette with out of date bread in the fridge.

As soon as I opened the door to my room a strong urine smell hit me. Even with an open window the smell did not go away. The pictures indicated a sink in the room which was not there. The bathrooms were okay and the staff was friendly but very short with explaining the hotel and surroundings. The price of course was cheap but for me not worth it and I would not stay there again.

Hi there, Firstly the positive was that the staff were friendly. That made a difference. The biggest problem for me was a safety concern which I am sure was not intentional. I checked in there for two nights with my 4 year old son on Wed 1st and Thurs 2nd of October. So on the 2nd, just as we were about to sleep, our door was opened by the guys that were checking in next door. I was so scared and loudly said "Excuse Me" and they closed the door before stepping in. I went outside and they told me that they thought it was their room (they were in 1A and we were in 1). I called the front desk to ask why the people next door can open our door with their key as this is a very scary situation for me and my child. They then fixed the key cards and one of the employees (maybe Manager, I'm not sure) came up to us and sincerely apologised for the error they made. This apology changed my reaction by a lot. I'm sure it was a one off mistake but please be very careful and use the other internal security locks when you're staying here just in case. The toilets, sinks, benches were so clean but the shower was a different story with stained walls and floors. Shower really needs a good clean. The kitchen includes tea, coffee, bread, milk for guests to help themselves for breakfast. Open the plates cupboard and you will see dirt on the small plates. The kitchen cupboards are not so clean. I do not recommend this place for people with small kids but the staff are friendly. Thank you.

Rooms are simple and comfortable. Shared bathrooms are obviously not modern, but extremely clean. All in all a great place to get a simple night's sleep

Always lovely to stay here. As a solo woman traveller, I feel quite safe and the rooms/linen/bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. I love that the old fashioned decor is maintained.

As far as pub rooms with shared amenities go this is great value and spotlessly clean. The staff are cheerful and very accommodating. I will definitely put on top of my list for my next stay in Maitland.

The room was spacious and as described on the site. I was there on a Saturday night the band was loud downstairs but I was aware that might be the case. It's a pub with live music. Staff courteous.

The musical noise from ground floor bar lasted till 130am when I stayed Friday night. I do not know other days.

staff were great

The staff were very helpful during my 5 night stay. Facilities and extras that were provided like breakfast, showers, lounge area were all more than satisfactory for my needs. The room was spacious for one person. The single bed was very comfortable. The wide variety of eating options within 500 metres was a positive.

Great staff on check-in went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Lovely old building full of history with touches of modern style. Great food and live entertainment . Will for sure be back

Absolutely charming building. Needed last minute accommodation and was able to get in here. The room was great. Super comfy bed. Clean Room. Check in was super easy and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Pleasant room, good bed. Hard to find staff at times. Limited breakfast food selection.

Room was really good value as its location was right in the centre of town. Ate at the Bistro downstairs. Overall very happy with my stay.

Clean, neat & tidy, short walk from railway station - Great cafes All around - Lovly quiet walk along the river @ the back - Plenty of free parking - Teriffic for an overnight stay

Reasonably priced Central Clean

Clean rooms with good access to central Maitland shops and restaurants. The staff are delightful and the bistro food is tasty and well portioned.

Good value. Room clean, beds comfortable. Self serve breakfast is available and included in the price. Excellent bar and bistro. Live music Friday and Saturday is noisy but you're warned. That was my 3rd stay and will stay again.

The booking site said breakfast included, it was not. The booking site was misleading with respect to room facilities, no bathroom, and tea and coffee was in separate area. Bed was small and uncomfortable, with springs looking into us. Extremely noisy ( very loud music and patrons)until 1am, then for next hour till around 2am, drunken patrons in the street outside our window were extremely loud, yelling. Only 2 of the staff were friendly, most were scowling and barely acknowledged any greeting. Overpriced for extremely basic accommodation. When I complained about the false advertising, I was told that it was the fault of WOTIF.

Country pub feeling in a city pub. It was clean and quiet with off street parking and staff were great. The meal in the dining area was absolutely fantastic and well priced.

Thanks for a nice stay! Loved the Irish publican in the day time he made us very welcome. Clean comfy digs for a rural stay, food terrific and we also enjoyed happy hour prices whilst we watched the footy. We will be back!
