Alpine Motel

This motel is a step back into the past. Park in front of your large room. Since I have been staying there, they are constantly upgrading and improving. It is quiet and safe. On pretty days, I sit outside under the shade trees and read. I would like a larger TV, but it is not needed to have a restful night.

Motel is very nice and pretty modern. Could use a soft drink and snack machine.

Room was very clean, great for a one night stop off. Would have been better if the ice machine worked and if the room had a chair in addition to the desk chair.

Old school motel that was remodeled, well lit, clean outside, clean/spacious/comfortable inside. I will absolutely stay here again when I’m in Abingdon for work.

I was in town. because my friend had a motorcycle accident and broke his leg and was in the local hospital. Found this hotel last minute. Danny Patel was outstanding. I stayed until my friend's wife arrived the next day. Danny let me book another room for her, so I could leave my friend's stuff in it and give her the room key. Danny also let me park my motorcycle in his carport as it was raining when I got there.

Clean and comfortable room, felt very safe in parking lot, friendly staff

The motel was a great stay for the money. You can tell they care about the property, the lawn was beautiful and well kept. The room was clean and large. Parking is right in from of your room. Views are great, convenient location. I would definitely stay here again.

Fast and easy access to rooms.

No coffee pot in the room for morning coffee, not enough towels and wash cloths, only 2 little bars of soap, couldn't find an ice machine to get ice for cold drinks. Room itself was very nice.

The floors hadn't been cleaned in some time.

Exceptionally clean.

Basic but extremely clean, comfortable and convenient.

Beautiful setting and large room, as others noted. However, room was not clean. Bathroom floor had droplets in front of toilet, and scum in tub. I’ve never posted a review before, but I felt obligated. I’m not a fussy person, but this was unacceptable. Will never stay here again. Price is not worth it.

This property is nearly antiseptically clean, safe, and well maintained.

We stayed for 4 nights. We had to kill over a dozen stink bugs over the days there. There was a gap below the front door. We tried to cover it with a blanket from our car. Still had to deal with the bugs (probably mostly when the staff came in to clean and left the door open. The towel bar by the sink was not fastened tight and came off a couple of times. The light in the bathroom was full of dead insects. I cleaned it out. The floor was nice but very dirty and our showers showed a lot of dirt in them from our feet. The cover for one of the beds had a lot of tears in it. I like the location and would like to stay again, but there needs to be a lot of work done to make it a better place. Rm 110

This was a refreshing little gem of a motel. I wasn't expecting what I walked into. It's older and seems to be non franchise. But it has a quirky charm about it. And the room was super clean, smelled great and HUGE. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it felt. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area for work.

Motel is easy to get to right off of I81. Convenient parking in front of your door with no steps which was a plus. I always check room for cleanliness when I arrive. One bed was clean, the other looked like it had been slept in. Hair and dirt in the bed. Went back to the office and they moved us to the room next door. Beds were clean, room was not. Very dusty, cob webs on the curtains and in the corners and stink bugs all over the wall. We addressed this with the owner. He came in with a vacuum cleaner and cleaned up the bugs and webs. The bathroom appeared clean, I'm not sure about sanitary. Being a professional house cleaner, this place did not appeal to me. The rooms were newly renovated with new furnishings. It was very basic. 2 beds, I nightstand, TV, desk and rolling desk chair. There were no comfortable chairs to sit in to watch TV and the first night our TV didn't work. There was a container and bags for the ice machine and disposable cups. It was all covered in dust. No coffee maker or hair dryer. It did have a microwave and mini fridge which appeared new and was clean. The air conditioner was old but very cold. All of our concerns were addressed very quickly. The staff was friendly enough. There was hot coffee in the office in the morning with sugar and powder creamer. No breakfast items as advertised. If you are looking for a basic room with a bed to sleep in that's budget friendly, this is your place. Otherwise, i wouldn't stay here. I would not stay here again

It is very retro on the outside. The grounds awe me very nice. We had a smoke free room. The room was Large and looked clean. The sink had mold as well as the shower curtain. The shower curtain was pink on the inside and very pink at the bottom. We bought Clorox cleanup to get rid of all pink mold. The pillows were old and flat and only 3 for a king size bed. The outside door had a gap the whole length to the outside and the air conditioner had had built up dirt and had a smell.

This motel is a little hidden gem. It’s older, but remodeled on the inside. It features large rooms and is very clean.

sparsely furnished .. but super clean, beautiful sunrise views. was nice enough to book again on return trip thru. only complaint would be the pillows were real flat.

Mostly it was good. But non-smoking room smelled a bit like smoke, and air conditioner was quite loud.

Spent two nights on a motorcycle trip. The views are amazing. The owner was very nice and accommodating. There was a chance of a bad storm moving through and he let us park the bikes in the breezeway. Room was clean and quiet. Bring your own shampoo. None was provided. It was a quaint step back in time. Cool place to stay!

Service desk not staffed. I guess the owner checked me in had very little to say at check in. Went to get coffee the next morning NONE (ONE thermos) available. If there had been nothing to sweeten the coffee. No one there at checkout. Just laid my key card in the desk and left. A plus was the view of the hill overlooking a pasture with cows grazing.

Late night check-in and the desk clerk was waiting for me by name. Very pleasant and attentive and the room was clean. This motel has been completely updated and provides a clean minimalist environment. Great choice for a late booking for weary travelers.

The motel is very well located and reasonably priced. The room was large and clean but could use more hooks (only two and located at door all the way across the room from the bathroom)for wet towels and some hangers for coats etc. While the desk clerk was clearly not a "people person" he efficiently checked us in and I would have no hesitation recommending the motel or in staying there again.

Room, cleanliness, locale, comfort were pleasing enough. Wasn't the hotel's fault we had noisey couple next door who exhibited domestic drama way too long. A lot of odd noises from the refrigerator, squeaking and clanking noises but no evidence of rodents so I know that wasn't the problem. Front desk clerk wasn't welcoming or smiling.

An older property but maintained nicely, convenient to restaurants and the Interstate, comfortable and relaxing on the inside and beautiful scenery and pastures with cows at the fence line.

This is a great little motel with beautiful views. There is great dinning options a short drive to historic town 2 miles away.

We were not expecting such great views! The motel is up on a hill, with every room looking onto a field overlooking the mountains. We took advantage of the folding chairs set outside the rooms to enjoy the sunset in the evening, and watch the sunrise in the morning. In fact, we sat under a tree in the field just outside our room all morning watching the cedar waxwings, blue jays, and woodpeckers. Of course the highway noise is ever present, but the views are gorgeous, totally unexpected for such an inexpensive motel! I would have LOVED a coffee maker in the room, or to have had access to coffee earlier. I'm an early riser, and coffee in the office was not ready until sometime after 7:00. I'll bring my own next time, or grab some at Dunkin Donuts. But other than that, this place was perfect. Very clean, very quiet, comfy beds, and again, views and access to nature that you don't usually get at this price.

Stayed here for one night. It's your basic motel, nothing more, nothing less. It was what we needed at a decent price point. Very quiet, which was nice. Ice machine wasn't working and there's mention of a free breakfast, but I didn't see one (unless I missed it). Property was clean, rooms were clean, but old. Staff was very nice.

Needed a place for the night so booked this place while fueling. Clean, quite and not smelly. Took a while for the room to warm up and the worst coffee I've had in a long time.

Great location, quiet, and beautiful view. Unfortunately, the basic amenities are really lacking. No cups or tea or coffee in the room, even though there is a microwave and nice sized frig. The frig kept making a racket. No donuts or pastries in the lobby. They only have coffee in the lobby, but nothing to make tea or anything with. Towels were super thin. I requested that the room be made up with sign on the door. It was flipped over later to the do not disturb side. The room was not serviced. Overall, very clean and great location. Bit of a disappointment for the price, that there is no little extras.

Overall, it was a good stay (2 nights). The place is clean, cheap and quiet. There is no breakfast, but I knew prior to staying. No problem.
