Clean comfy and affordable. Great stay

Very clean, quiet and conveniently located lodge at a reasonable price. It was just remodeled in retro style, which is very neat. Lots of parking. No breakfast but coffee and tea station is open all day. This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We travel to Roanoke often so we definitely will stay here again

I had a fantastic stay at this recently renovated motel. The new owners restored and kept the mid-century vibe with a lot of fun touches, from the vintage style mini-fridge to the paint and wallpaper choices. The bed was excellent and my room was very quiet, although I was on the back side and I don't know if road traffic noise would affect rooms on the front. I also loved that the window had a double set of shades instead of the janky curtains most motels have that never fully close. Great location too with lots of food places and shops nearby and only a few minutes from downtown by car. There were a few quirks that were not dealbreakers for me and I would absolutely stay again but might be useful info for other travelers. As I mentioned there are fridges in the rooms but no microwave or coffee maker. There is fresh coffee in the lobby every morning though. The rooms have these charming wood outer doors but if someone knocks without opening the outer door the peephole on the inner door is useless. And finally the water pressure is abysmal. Plenty of hot water which is great but of my minor criticisms this is the one that really needs to be improved. Again, I'm not taking any stars off and I would 100% stay here again, this is all just FYI stuff so others can make informed decisions.

This was a great overnight stop on our road trip and I would plan to return for a longer stay as part of a Blue Ridge Parkway trek. We stayed in one of the back rooms facing the mountain in a spacious two queen room with our pup. I appreciated the levered door, giving an extra layer of privacy between the room and the locked door. The linens, mattress and pillows were amazing! Quiet room even though on a busy road. Even the heat/AC unit wasn’t noisy. Larger-than-normal fridge for the room (but no freezer). Morning coffee was excellent, good tea selection.

Just a real quaint place to stay.
