Comfort Inn New River

I think this hotel was "average"...a 3.5. I graded it a little lower because the room had a bit of a sweaty clothes smell and the bathroom countertop was tiny. We opened the window for a bit (the temp was in the mid 60s outside) &, after, ran the AC. However, when we returned from dinner, the slight smell was still there. The breakfast was good & included scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits, gravy, bread, bagels, waffles, cereal, yogurt, juice, muffins & fruit. The desk staff was kind & helpful. We had dinner at El Bandido, after a recommendation from the desk agent. The food was good & the prices were very reasonable. The location of this hotel was in close proximity to some of the hiking & sightseeing we were doing.

Hotel was not prepared. No towels and washcloths. Lights in bathroom, one lightbulb working. We asked multiple times for 2 days for towels and washcloths but were told they didn’t have any. I’d give it a 2 out of 5.

First room we checked into had water leaking from the toilet onto the bathroom floor. Moved to another room that had filthy old grout around the bottom of the toilet and the shower curtain was covered in mildew. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Paid $144.00 for one night.

There is a swimming pool and fitness center. They could improve on breakfast - there were no biscuits but there was gravy for them. One of the handles for a drawer was broken when we walked in so I told the front desk person.

Comfortable place to stay. It had a nice hot breakfast, friendly staff, clean room, and great location to the NP.
