We had the best time at this resort! The views of Lake Wawasee are absolutely beautiful—especially at sunset. It’s such a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. The food was seriously amazing. Every meal we had was delicious, and you can tell they put real care into the menu. Great variety and super fresh. The tiki bar was one of our favorite hangout spots—great drinks, fun vibe, and right on the water. Perfect for kicking back in the evenings. Overall, it’s just a great place to relax, eat well, and enjoy the lake. We’re already talking about coming back next summer!

Everything is wonderful, the property , the little beach, the breakfast option, the facility around, the cleanliness outside and inside, the kind and wonderful staff, the availability of restaurants in less than 10 min. And The walk around .

If you go in the early spring time and it by chance gets hot they do not turn air-conditioning on AT ALL until they shut down boiler system. Thats what we were told. Rooms were HOT at night.

We love Oakwood Resort! We sat at the Tiki Bar and enjoyed the water! We ate dinner at the outside restaurant and had fabulous food and service! We enjoyed the blues music being played outside and watching the families enjoying the bon fire!

Really bad, avoid this place, it's not like it used to be: 1. old frappucino in fridge from prior guest (or prior prior, who knows?) 2. beetle in room flying around 3. refused to provide towels or service room as it had not been 3 days yet (never mind its not covid any more). 4. Even though their own sign said "service every 3 days but if you'd like you can request it every day". When I pointed that out, after their second refusal, they said, "yeah, that sign is wrong." Worse than all that is the lack of concern of the staff. Each issue was met with basically, "yeah, that's just the way it is." Staff looked disinterested, bored, and not what I'd expect here, nor what I experienced a year ago. They have forgotten they are in hospitality business.

I chose to stay here because I had heard good things about the resort and my wife and I were looking for a close getaway. My check-in and checkout were smooth. The desk staff were always present, friendly and helpful. The public areas of the property were mostly in good condition, but our room clearly was falling into disrepair. The other negative was that on our way to breakfast in the morning there were construction guys swapping out the light fixtures so they had there tools all across the steps leading down to the front desk. I was disappointed in the condition of the bathroom. The toilet was left dirty even after housekeeping 'cleaned'. The inside door frame paint was peeling

Not only is the place spotlessly clean and has friendly personnel, but they were very accommodating to an early checkin and late checkout!! The breakfast buffet was excellent!

We've stayed at Oakwood a few times and it's always very clean, comfortable and well kept. However, this time we noticed that the air vent on our room was rusty and the flooring was coming loose and made funky slapping noises as we walked around our room. It seems like upkeep has gone a little downhill lately. That's sad to see because we really like staying here.

Oakwood is always a beautiful place to stay. Even though I usually check-in late after delayed flights to South Bend. The rooms are clean, the lobby smells good, and the staff are extra helpful. The grab & go breakfast was a nice treat too! I absolutely recommend Oakwood to anyone staying in NE Indiana.

We were pretty comfortable. Black out shades would be good as a lot of light came into our room from the hallway around the corner leading to the restaurant. We were told the room would be cleaned every day, not a big deal to us, but it wasn’t although we were gone all afternoon both days with no sign on door. The breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the lakefront setting.

We loved the design of the hotel. The biggest problem was we could hear everything outside our room and in the room next to ours. It was very loud, especially while trying to sleep.

Oakwood Resort offered a peaceful and relaxing stay, made even more special by the beautiful view of the lake right from our room. The only aspect that felt out of place was the refrigerator—it stood openly in the room and would have looked more cohesive tucked into a cabinet that matched the furnishings.

I have never been so mad at a hotel. I paid for a room that was shown in the picture, turned out it wasn’t the same room at all, also the TV didn’t work and we tried to lower the temperature and it went down one degree all night. The person at check out said “well you don’t necessarily get the room in the picture” and I can put in a ticket for the TV but other than that you’ll have to talk to a manager (who was not there.) This was my first trip with my guest and it ruined my stay and therefore both of ours.

It was an awesome trip with excellent customer service. My issue was with Hotels.com and not having me registered to stay at the hotel. Luckily they had available rooms.

We had the best time at this resort! The views of Lake Wawasee are absolutely beautiful—especially at sunset. It’s such a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. The food was seriously amazing. Every meal we had was delicious, and you can tell they put real care into the menu. Great variety and super fresh. The tiki bar was one of our favorite hangout spots—great drinks, fun vibe, and right on the water. Perfect for kicking back in the evenings. Overall, it’s just a great place to relax, eat well, and enjoy the lake. We’re already talking about coming back next summer!

We enjoyed our room but were told there was no free breakfast, so we were unhappy about that. The free breakfast is advertised as part of the room charge.

Need yo upgrade breakfast, this not a resort breakfast We were there 7-8 years ago 3 times always a nice buffet you can put what you have now for customers to get also put micro waves in rooms and get cable tv, i wii not book again unless you change the breakfast

Not only is the place spotlessly clean and has friendly personnel, but they were very accommodating to an early checkin and late checkout!! The breakfast buffet was excellent!

We love Oakwood Resort! We sat at the Tiki Bar and enjoyed the water! We ate dinner at the outside restaurant and had fabulous food and service! We enjoyed the blues music being played outside and watching the families enjoying the bon fire!

I have stayed at this resort numerous times over the past several years on business trips and vacation. I have always been pleased with the service, the staff and with my room. This stay was markedly different. We were given a ground floor room on a very busy hallway on the way to the restaurant. The room was uncomfortably warm and humid, but was facing the water as promised. I asked for a different room, maybe an upgrade to a higher floor, which I would pay for, anything more quiet and comfortable. I was told they did have empty rooms, but room changes and upgrades were for people who call the Resort directly to book. I had booked online, through an app so I was not eligible! We paid top dollar for a meal at The Pier restaurant on site. The food was good but very expensive. Our waiter was extremely nice but had more tables than he could possibly manage and provide good service. The second night we were there we had a bad storm. We knew it was coming, but had been informed that the Resort had generators, so even if there was a power outage, we would be fine. We received emergency alerts on our phones in the middle of the night of tornadoes in the area and the power went out. The generators kicked in a few minutes later and stayed on for approximately 10 minutes and then they went out. We were without power for several hours. Our already humid, warm room was very uncomfortable. We checked out the next morning and don’t plan to return.

This is definitely a great place. The rooms have been upgraded. The hotel has been upgraded mini new TV. Staff always taken care of me. Beautiful spot on like well. We’ll see if you don’t have the Lakeview. The courtyard view is beautiful lots of trails watch lights just a fun relaxing place.
