It's a keyless entry place, so a bit lacking in terms of ambience upfront. But the service in the morning was outstanding! Room was large and nice, about what I expected. But could never get the AC thermostat to work, and being a remote entry/keyless place, I couldn't reach anyone in reception to ask about it. The bathtub and shower were fantastic, but only 2 towels? Minor quibbles, though. I'll be back.

Fantastic small and cozy bed and breakfast hotel. Walking distance to downtown Napa and many dining options. Details have been tended to from decor to the waiting champagne In room spa (jets didn’t work) and fireplace made for a great couples getaway

We are disappointed in our stay. Amenities we were counting on like a refrigerator and a fireplace were either broken or not included. The shower seemed to be missing a head. The bathtub leaked from one of the faucets so we were afraid to use it after one try. The room was clean and lovely but unfortunately these small things accumulated into a frustrating experience.

The room was very cozy and I loved having the tub in the room with the tv. I loved the the downstairs area and backyard with seating for breakfast and the fire pit. Parking was very easy to settle and downtown was a very close walk.

Great breakfasts & very nice host. Our front upstairs room & shower was very spacious but there’s street noise, dirty windows, 2 chairs that felt like they were not working well & jetted tub had no jets.

This tends to be our go-to B & B when we travel to Napa. The reasonable price compared to most other lodgings in the area, the included breakfast, complimentary parking, and and easy walk to downtown Napa or easy drive to wineries makes this the perfect spot to stay for a night or two. It is an older property, so don’t expect modern furnishings or decorations. If you like romance, you’ve got a fireplace in every room as well as a big tub. The sheets are of a very high quality. The bed is a little hard for my liking, but that’s not enough to keep me away.

I booked through Expedia with a non-refundable fee that stated “includes all fees.” Immediately afterwards, I got an email from The Inn On First through the Expedia portal indicating I still owed a $211.61 deposit. The fireplace is the only source of heat. I tried to turn it on and it was not working. I called the office and the inn keeper walked me through the instructions to turn it on. It still did not work. She said her husband would come in 15 minutes to fix it. He arrived about 40 minutes later and was in the room for about 30 minutes trying to fix it. This was awkward as I was getting ready for dinner the whole time he was in my room. But the overnight forecast was for a temp of 39 so I wanted it fixed. He was unable to fix it. It was cold overnight. Not miserable but it would’ve been nice to have some heat. The hot tub jets are not functional; there is no motor. The walls were thin; I could hear cats and other conversations around the property. In the morning as I was leaving, a cat ran into the room and under the bed. I was already late but had to spend extra time shooing a CAT out of the room. Good location but do not recommend.

Thought it was overpriced for a property without an innkeeper. If you needed something extra like a towel, etc...there was no one to ask. The hallways/rugs look worn. The thing that bothered me most is while I appreciated cleanliness greatly, there was a very strong smell of industrial strength disinfectant cleaner in our room and the public areas; it was overwhelming and borderline nauseating. Clean is great, but the smell of cleanliness should be pleasant. For these reasons, I wouldn't stay there again.

I loved the privacy and the small atmosphere. The breakfast was great and the staff was very accommodating. The only thing that was a problem was some ants came in thru the front window.

The property is immaculate. The breakfasts are delicious, homemade, and gourmet quality. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and quiet. I almost didn’t do a review so I could keep the hidden gem a secret;) Book the “Inn on First” it will make your weekend!

My husband and I stayed for the weekend and loved everything about the B n B. The place was exceptionally clean, staff went above and beyond for hospitality, and we loved that the room had a tub and fireplace. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The staff were very attentive. Communication was good via text. Everything was very clean and inviting! Breakfast was amazing each day; plenty to keep you full till happy hour! Loved everything about it!

This was the first time my husband and I stayed at a bed and breakfast and this was the perfect place! I would definitely stay here again. We had the room with the balcony. It's a very large room with his-and-hers vanity design bathroom, and lots of natural light. The breakfast in the morning is very good and fresh baked cookies made daily that were delicious! The staff was very friendly and the property was very clean. We felt very safe and didn't have any issues with parking. It was pretty quiet when we stayed and didn't have any noise disturbance. It's about a 20 min walk to downtown Napa. I would stay here again!

This was my second stay here. I think the self check in is great. Room had a patio and large soaking tub - great value for price, and includes breakfast which is homemade! There is no tv so may be an issue for some, but it didn’t bother my sister and I. Wish the mirrors above sink were larger and lower - I am 5 foot and couldn’t see in them!! Also with some water was available. But besides the 2 minor critiques I would recommend and stay again.

There aren’t enough good things I could say about this place! My fiancée and I checked in late, and were provided very easy instructions for our after-hours check-in. There were cookies and a bucket of ice waiting for us in the lobby upon our arrival which was a very pleasant surprise, and they were even playing soft Christmas music to add to the already comfy atmosphere. Our room was immaculate! Extremely spacious, private balcony, HUGE bathtub, extraordinarily comfortable bed, the list goes on. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was served(I heard it’s great), but the friendly innkeeper didn’t let us leave without offering hot coffee and quite possibly the best muffin I’ve ever had. Our stay felt much too short, and we will ABSOLUTELY be back in the future!

Love love love this air bnb. The highlight was the breakfast with the mother and daughter. They were so sweet and everything was homemade, I would have easily paid for that breakfast at a restaurant but it came with the price of the hotel. the Tub was also very nice to soak in after walking around Napa. MY ONLY minor complaint is the mattress in room 1 was too soft and sunk in the middle. Still loved the homey experience and location was beautiful and close to downtown. 5 stars and would 100% book again!

We enjoyed our one night stay in Napa. This B&B is close to the downtown area in a pleasant neighborhood making dinner plans easy with many options nearby. Traffic was unexpectedly heavy in the Napa area so we were glad to be able to avoid a long drive to dinner. This B&B was clean and well-run. The owner is not on site but check-in was easy and all other necessary information efficiently provided. We learned the B&B recently underwent a change in owne. It was known for its fabulous breakfasts and we were told the same recipes were passed along and are being used. Our breakfast was unique and delicious. The cookies available upon our arrival were so good, similar to a chocolate chip cookie but not quite. My only disappointment was that our mattress was very soft offering little back support. We seemed to run into this problem more frequently than usual on this trip. We tend to like firmer mattresses. The garden outside was well appointed for relaxing and smelled sweetly of jasmine. There wasn’t much in the way of common areas indoors to enjoy, just a large dining room and a foyer with some seating. It wasn’t a problem for us since the weather was nice and we were out and about. We will certainly keep these accommodations in mind if we have the chance to return to Napa.

Over-the-top labeling of everything, even the lock on the door was labled "Lock". No one was on site when we arrived and we did not receive instructions for checking in / entry, so the neighbor was helpful in getting us in and oriented. The contact-less check in via an iPad was clever but again impersonal and made us do all the work, so not a good experience. It seemed the place was designed by robots to run without any evidence of human contact or caring. We probably won\'t be staying here again, better more personal options abound in the neighborhood. And referring to the main house as the "Mansion" probably makes those staying in the back house feel second class, curious. A very sterile and distanced sort of place. And the packaged breakfast strategy, while also clever, felt as if it was really for the innkeeper\'s benefit, to make it easy for them to mass-produce a breakfast option - again, it required too much effort on our part to make breakfast selections and what arrived was only slightly warm and frankly mediocre. The sort of thing you might expect if staying at an economy hotel chain. Again, impersonal and without any human touch. A place run by robots.

It's a keyless entry place, so a bit lacking in terms of ambience upfront. But the service in the morning was outstanding! Room was large and nice, about what I expected. But could never get the AC thermostat to work, and being a remote entry/keyless place, I couldn't reach anyone in reception to ask about it. The bathtub and shower were fantastic, but only 2 towels? Minor quibbles, though. I'll be back.

A great place to spend a few days in Napa! A wonderful property, ideally located for Downtown & its amenities & close to the main attractions. Easy access to Silverado Trail & tge surrounding towns and area. Hospitality couldn’t be faulted - straightforward checkin process & the care and attention from Cindy & Molly as our innkeepers was first class. Great breakfast on offer - the hot entrees are well worth trying! Our room was very comfortable & tge fire in the room was perfect for the cold January nights and mornings! Couldn’t fault anything at the Inn & will definitely be coming back & would fully recommend. A gem

Beautiful stay with such friendly and kind staff. The breakfast was make to order, and was lovely, even when taking into consideration all the breakfasts options just a quick walk into town. They were so great at communicating with me to ensure I had a smooth and successful (late) check-in. Will definitely stay again!

The room was very cozy and I loved having the tub in the room with the tv. I loved the the downstairs area and backyard with seating for breakfast and the fire pit. Parking was very easy to settle and downtown was a very close walk.

This tends to be our go-to B & B when we travel to Napa. The reasonable price compared to most other lodgings in the area, the included breakfast, complimentary parking, and and easy walk to downtown Napa or easy drive to wineries makes this the perfect spot to stay for a night or two. It is an older property, so don’t expect modern furnishings or decorations. If you like romance, you’ve got a fireplace in every room as well as a big tub. The sheets are of a very high quality. The bed is a little hard for my liking, but that’s not enough to keep me away.

From cozy and scenic baths, to a comfortable and clean sleep; paired with a communicative and attentive staff and clean lodgings, what’s not to love!? If you can’t attend an on-site breakfast, they’ll prep you a continental breakfast with some of the freshest fruit available. They make sure to outline everything you might need and then some with their stellar communication. 2nd time staying and I’ll continue to frequent this spot!

The staff was amazing and made you feel right at home as soon as you entered the door. The B&B was very charming and I loved that there was a hot tub in our room. The breakfast was wonderful, that there was parking available was a plus, and its location being so close to the town was the big bonus! I would stay here again!
