I arrived on time and booking was confirmed, however I was refused a room due to a previous overnight stay where I was given room #115. I had settled into the room and turned on the air conditioning and smelled a musty odor not usually associated with air conditioners. Looking further I noticed black mold on the cover vents. I took the unattached filters into the bathroom to rinse. While in the bathroom I utilized the toilet. While sitting with my head bowed a large clump of black mass dropped on my head from the bathroom exhaust fan. Looking up I saw that it was completely covered in black mold. I took the cover off and the whole fan and motor were completely covered in mold and it seemed to be almost growing on it. I immediately went to the office and requested a different room and showed the clerk the fan cover and explained the situation. Her reply was, "yes, I know, I've stayed in the room myself and tried to clean it but was afraid to remove the cover. But I'm sorry, I can not give you a different room. We have other reservations still coming in and we are sold out" I asked for the manager named Dee and again was refused. "I was told not to disturb her" was the answer. I couldn't reserve a room somewhere else because I had limited funds until the next day and decided to unmount the fan and carefully disconnect the 2 electric wires and brought it up to the office. Damaging nothing in the process and taking photos of the process showing the mold inundated the shaft too
