Motel 6-Roseville, MN - Minneapolis North

Affordable stay, bed smelled sour and musty with stains on the top cover. Very nice staff and security. Safe parking.

Valarie and Samir are awesome employees (& deserve a raise). Location is pretty convenient. Theis place is doing renovations, some rooms have been done but not the rooms on the back side. Landscaping could stand some sprucing up. Some rooms have refrigerators but not all. Pool was drained & covered while I was there in July for repairs. Housekeeping... or lack of it. You do not get any housekeeping while you stay there. There's a rolling bin at the bottom of the stairs for you to place your trash. Apparently when housekeeping is done for the day, they just leave, rooms left open without pillows and don't mop. What they do clean is not up to most Mom's expect.

I was in meed of a room for a few nights. I decided on Motel 6 becasue it was near where i needed to be and they had a pool. Rates were decent. Not great for the room after the fact, but when i booked it, they seemed fair. Part of the reasom i deciced on Motel 6 was becasue they had an outdoor pool. Advertised on their web site, etc. Upon arrival, it turns out the pool was close "indefinitely." In hind sight, that was probably a good thing. The enployees seemed indifferent, except for housekeeping. It was obvious they worked their ass off and did a good job. But the front desk seems "put out" and it felt like they were there for a paycheck only. One of the guys when i checked in late at night, was completely oblivious it seemed. Also, they didmt check license plates, amd the lot felt like there were quite a few abandoned vehicles, people sitting in their car all night, etc. Im normally not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but i couldn't ne quiet on this one. I wont say i will never use Motel 6 again, but i will MOST CERTAINLY never go to this location again. I should mention the fact that i had to go to a local store and buy "fly strips" due to the fact that were an inordinate amount of house flys AND fruit flys in the room. When there wasnt any fruit. I am not sure where they were coming from, I believe they were coming in through the drain pipes in the sink.

No covers. Dirty. Smelled like cigars. Staff lied about other available rooms. Transients and drug users staying longer term and around pool. Pool out of order. Laundry out of order. Staff couldnt produce a receipt on checkout. Should be torn down. Never will stay there again.

The toilet seat was broken and not attached to the toilet, the laminate counter tops of the dresser cabinets was delaminating. The pool was not open. The place looked worn out and unsafe. There was a man out on the balcony watching us the entire time. Even when we made it up to our floor and to our room. We talked briefly about the situation and decided to leave. Ww just did not feel comfortable to stay. The photos from when i booked the reservation absolutely do not match what we saw when we checked in our room. Even my bottom sheet of my bed looked crumpled and slept on. Including someone elses hair in the bed. Just ish. We did not ask for our money back, we just checked out at the desk and left. Surprisingly the guy behind the desk didn't even ask why since we had just checked in. Very disappointed and would not recommend. Sorry.

The rooms were very clean at least my room was. My partners room had a broken chair and the room smelled like a dog but they happily changed his room. The employees were really nice and accommodating. Unfortunately their pool was out of service that was the sell feature of my booking the room.

Very cheap. Allowed pets. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning was pretty good. Pool looked fine. No fridge, microwave in lobby. Lots and lots of drinks in the soda machines. Ice machine worked. Beds didn't have blankets just sheets lol but they gave me one blanket.

Initial roomed checked into had major issues?? Lights didn’t work, no cable connection, ice machine broken, no fridge, no microwave & bedding looked unclean? I phoned the front desk & the desk clerk sympathized with my complaint & made the effort of checking me into another room!! Second room as adequate for the evening? I will not stay again at this hotel…Ever!!!

had roaches and bedbugs

The customer service was fine- but that’s the only thing that was good. The room was dirty, there was no remote control, the furniture was old and broken, the sheets were dirty- and we slept on top of the blankets. The bathroom door didn’t close or lock, and the sink leaked.

Room smelled really bad and front desk did nothing about it. Didnt clean the room the entire stay(4days) The fitted sheets didnt even fit

Room had smoking odor, tons of flies, poor water pressure & no clock or hairdryer. Broken toilet seat; filthy microwave. One wall light did not work. Positive: air conditioner and TV worked. Unlikely to return to this motel or the brand.

There were spider webs and spiders on the walls, the rug in front of the door was soaking wet, it stunk like mildew, black mold growing in the bathroom, bugs flying around. The walls looked like they were melting from water damage behind the walls. Dirty walls and doors and flooring.

Upon entering the room it was evident the room was not cleaned properly after the previous guests. The towels were refolded but covered in hair. It appeared other towels had been used due to a crusty substance. The bed sheets had hair on them. Even if it was clean the outside lights were bright all night and the beds were no better than sleeping on plain springs. Worst night of sleep. I will never go back to that disgusting place.

No fridge, no microwave, not even a chair to sit at the beat up table. Place was disgustingly dirty and in disrepair. The AC is locked so you can't go below 76°. There's a certain smell in the air constantly and it's not the smell of something legal...

This property was dirty there was hairs in the shower and the beds seem to not be cleaned properly. We got moved since the previous room was not made. When I asked for towels the desk clerk said he had none and I could use washcloths to dry myself. That was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Motel6.

Non smoking room that reeked of cigarette smoke. Unironically the smoke detector was covered in plastic. There were stains on the curtains as well which was interesting. Paid for a queen and I’m pretty certain that bed was not a queen. Restroom door did not close unless you lifted and body slammed it. It didn’t lock regardless. The A/C was barely running and barely blowed any air. General comfort was fine otherwise.

It was loud until about 3am

Room was clean. Desk guy said all rooms had a mini fridge and microwave though, and ours didn’t, so our meal prep went to waste. Otherwise good stay.

The room was renovated which we appreciated.

The price is good and the size is ok for a single night, you can tell the room was given a makeover, it was within walking distance to a little mall and some restuarants, however I would not go there again. The walls are paper thin and I had a hard time sleeping due to all the commotion outside at night time, you can even hear the traffic on the road, the air conditioner vent was very dirty, the smoke detector was missing, the door looked like the corner was chewed off, the shower head was leaking water everywhere when it was turned on, the desk chair was broken and there was no label on the phone so no idea how to use it. I felt incredibly unsafe as someone traveling alone.

It was clear that the room was under construction, but the secondary lock on the door was broken, the room was all plaster and light fixtures in the room were missing. It was inexpensive.... So I got what I paid for.

No refrigerator or microwave.Shower isn't suitable for big people. Bathroom sink. Low water pressure. No hot water. Couldn't get some of the listed tv channels.

A long check in process. Hotel wanted a driving licence and didn't undertstand a UK driving licence. Had to pay a $75 deposit which was not mentioned in the expedia details. Small room was very basic, needs modernisation.

The first room the ac was not working. The second room it was clunking along but worked. The toilet took a few flushes every time. One of the lamps had a burned out bulb. The door you could see daylight through. Rained in during a thunderstorm. Had to use one of two bath towels to stop the water from coming in. The shampoo was used by the sink. The second night we couldn’t get in the room had to have the staff get us back in. The bed was decent, two pillows make one nice one. Never had an issue but the clientele’s iffy. We stay every year but after this year might have to rethink it. We just need a shower and a bed so the price is right. The staff was nice.

The room we got had a zip lock bag taped over the smoke detector, the toilet seat was loose, the lights didnt work, the sheets were dirty and the shower head has masking tape holding it together. They did move me to a new room, but that was the only good thing about my stay.

I had a reservation made sense Jan 2025. Came th day of my stay May 20th. When calling to let th office know we would arrive late, due to attending a concert in which is why w booked for a room. They had told us there was no open rooms. Leaving us out in the cold and rain with nothing opened in any surrounding areas in a price we could afford. We had to sit outside the closed bus station until 4:30 am. Not sure whos to blame? Expedia? Or motel 6 in this error of a reservation gone wrong. But I would like a free night's stay at any location at no cost. Due to the high inconvenience and stress put on our long planned trip.

We have stayed here many times. Staff is always very friendly. Rooms are clean. Great place to stay at a good price.

Room had lights and tc on when we arrived -seemed like someone was there already. No blanket on ved (just sheets). One bath towel. When we called desk, they told us to come get a blanket and towel. We waited an hour and went to desk and they couldn’t find a blanket- eventually they did. Woyld not give additional pillow (had 2 in room). Told us rooms were always had lights and tv o at checkin “ That’s how hotels do it”. ???

When we arrive, we were told they did not have any room with the two beds as I had reserved since they were two of us my older grandson and I we needed the two beds and they couldn’t accommodate us. She claimed it was because of the construction. I am hopeful I’m getting my money back. He canceled the reservation. I was very upset and it left us late in the day without any place to stay.

I ended up not staying at this hotel due to overbooking issue. I booked my reservation a week out. I called a day prior to my stay just to confirm my reservation after reading the reviews of overbooking issue - the guy who answered my call confirmed my reservation and to not worry too much. Then I called the day of and let them know I'm on my way to Minnesota and will be there later evening - another guy or same guy said there's an issue of overbooking and we are one out of 7 parties that they have to cancel. That weekend was also Breakaway and other stuff going on in the Twin Cities so it was pretty stressful to find another hotel that matches out need (luckily we bought Expedia's travel insurance and Expedia customer care also helped out). Issue was there's inspection going on for few months on the 2nd and 3rd floor, so only 1st floor is available to book. Staff needs to update Expedia on number of rooms for temporary fix so future customers do not experience the same.

This property did not feel safe. Our flight was delayed and we got there at 2a.m. The person at the desk was not welcoming. A couple of people were milling around the outside of the hotel which has all outdoor entrance doors. It was designated a non-smoking room, but it smelled like smoke in the room. Maybe rooms next door were smoking rooms? I'm not sure. I know it's an older hotel and in need of updating and repair. It was inexpensive, so not over-priced, but I would not stay there again.

I like how there's shopping so close, like Walmart and restraunts. As well as the Mall..

Excellent locatuon next to the Rosedale Mall. Quality of the motel and stay is just fine for anyone who is lookimg for modest on a budget.

The only think positive is the location. close to fairgrounds. The negative is to long to list. This property would be best burned down and rebuilt With new management!

The location wasn’t great, the pool was closed

This property gave us a bad vibe from the moment we drove into the parking lot. People lurking around staring at us as we pulled in and went to the office to check in. Families feeding their young children on the outdoor staircase. Families sitting in their cars for hours with blaring noises coming from them. All of the exterior doors had dents and scuffed paint, showing they had been beat on at some point. The outdoor pool was unavailable and was a murky green color-I booked specifically because I wanted a pool. Upon entering the room, it had a stench of smoke, that WASNT from cigarettes. There were light bulbs that were burned out and the door seal had light showing all around it. When leaving the room, we attempted to shut the door and had to finagle it to shut. We felt so unsafe and dirty being there that we checked back out within two hours of checking in. We will Never recommend this Motel 6.

Check in was fine. Room was very plain. Very noisy, Ambulance, patrol cars were there 2 times in the 12 hours we were there.

Bit deceiving based off the pictures but also if you know the area at all shouldnt come as surprise. Check in was seamless and our room was in order but bring a flyswatter and probably air freshener (room reeked of unknown odor that may have been urine mixed with cigarette smoke ~ who knows tho.) we just needed a place to lay our heads for the night on our roadtrip so could have done worse but for sure could have done just a bit better. Definitely a grungey place so if you need a cheap room it’ll do but might be better off splurging bit more on a room to be in a safer area.
