Clarion Pointe New Bern

It is always clean and quiet hotel. My dad lives here so we stay here every time we visit. We did experience however consistent problem with accessing our room every night (five night stay) The keys did not open the door. Multiple tries until we ended up with three keys to try during our visit. This is annoying and needs to be remedied. Suggestion: Fill the hot water dispenser hot. Tepid temp. every morning. Additional selection of fresh fruit such as apples instead of just bananas would be a great addition to the very carb selections.

Nice Staff, decent breakfast, loved the pool!

We normally stay at Marriott Springhill when we are at New Bern. Marriott was unavailable and we opted for the Clarion. Very happy. Clean. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds, pillows and good shower. Gym with the basics. I’m typically nervous at a hotel outside of Marriott but couldn’t have been happier at Clarion New Bern. Would not hesitate to stay again.

The hotel was clean, comfortable room with friendly staff (although hard to find at times). I did not like the parking, as I was traveling alone and because there were so many work vehicles and large trucks taking up the front spaces, I had to park farther away in darker spots that didn’t feel safe. In my opinion the staff should’ve asked the drivers of these trucks (that took up more than one spot) to kindly park farther away. Other than that it was close to shopping and dining.

Doesn’t look impressive from the outside, but the room was very nice, super comfy bed, great healthclub with actual dumbbells, free breakfast. Staff was kind, competent and very helpful.

This facility was amazing. The price was great and the rooms were clean. They had a washer and dryer for $5 bucks 😍 they have ice, exercise room, beautifully kept pool. Nice longe area. Staff are very kind, attentive. Quiet and relaxing. I was more than pleased. definitely coming back next time i'm in town.

The hotel lobby and my room were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool is nice and clean. The breakfast was not extravagant but there were good options. I was pleased at the large variety of toppings for oatmeal and waffles. There are even some breakfast items available for any time of day. This was a convenient location if you don’t want to be downtown. Lots of shopping centers nearby.

They have tried to do more with technology than they can support. Door key system was challenging to get to work. 3 visits back to desk for help.

My stay would have been perfect until the battery in my room door lock died and we couldn't access entry into our room. The kids wanted to swim, i wanted to get dressed to go to dinner with the family i came to visit. It was unnerving and an inconvenience. I had to keep going back and forth to the front desk trying different reset keys. After the 5th trip back to the desk, it was understood that it was the door and not me. We missed dinner wirh the family and that was upsetting.

Gentleman that checked us in was very pleasant and polite. Our room was not clean. The carpet and tile were both dirty. Carpet and bedsheets felt damp. After walking through the room the bottom of our feet were dirty.

Exceptionally clean! Staff does a great job and for an older motel the premises were very well kept. We enjoyed our stay while visiting family and exploring New Bern.

The person that checked me in was very nice. Actually everything was great until I found bed bugs.

Very clean nice rooms comfortable beds

This hotel needs a significant renovation. Our room smelled like marijuana and was in poor physical condition. Bathroom was dirty and tiles and accessories falling apart. Water pressure did not exist.

Carpet looked clean but was sticky. Don't go barefoot.

The hotel was great with one exception. It was walkable to everything! Location fantastic. The only complaint was that there was virtually no soundproofing. It was like a modular room set up. We could clearly hear the neighbors flush the toilet, shower, hair dryer and people down the hall getting ice from the ice machine.

Breakfast choices lacked hot choices unless you fixed a waffle. No eggs, bacon or sausage, grits for example. Disappointing. Also, internet did not work at the property. Someone ‘up front’ said they were working on it when I checked in about 4 p.m. But 19 hrs. Later it was still not working. Had to go elsewhere to connect and work while my spouse was in a conference. Very irritating.

The only issue I had was the limited cable channels which did not include either ABC or CBS. Bad timing this week as both the Men’s and Women’s NCAA tournaments were on those networks which precluded us watching the games on the television in our room.

I don’t know if it was the bed or what but I’ve slept in hundreds of hotels and this was the best sleep I’ve ever gotten.

WiFi was not the best. It was just one night. Good enough.

Fair Stay, but Noisy Location The room was reasonably clean and fairly priced. We appreciated the free bagels and clean towels. However, our room was near the gym and back door, so it was noisy—especially early in the morning with the door slamming as guests checked out. The room smelled musty, and there was visible wear on the bathroom walls. Light and sound came through the door at night. Not bad for a short stay, but I’d suggest asking for a quieter room.

Overall an enjoyable stay, but cooling/heating unit was really load.

The surrounding area was ok. I enjoyed the stay. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

Room was clean but the A/C didn’t keep the room dehumidified at all. It was like a cool sauna.

It should be known in advance that the hotel charges a credit card for incidentals abd it takes up to 10dsys to release the charge

We stayed here when dropping our son off at Camp Seagull. Previous years we have stayed at Springhill Suites which was great. The hotel was fine but customer service was non existent. Room was clean and comfortable and our son enjoyed the pool. The pool is outside is in parking lot. We first arrived at the hotel at 11am. I went into see if we would be able to check in early (check in was 3pm) and if so what time. Sally said she didn’t know if there was a room available but it would be $35 to check in early. Understandable. It didn’t seem like there were rooms available and she seemed overwhelmed so we decided to come back after going and getting lunch. We came back at 2:30. When I walked in to check in there was no one at the desk and eventually Sally came out reminded me it would be $35 to check in because it wasn’t yet 3pm for another 30 minutes. And she said l, “Policy is policy.” Rooms were ready and no one was there. I called the sister hotel next door and they said anytime after 2pm. I called other Clarion Pointes and they said anytime after 2pm. Another guest walked in and was told she too would have to wait 14 minutes to check in or pay $35. At 2:56 I walked up to check in. Then a man came up behind me. Sally grabbed my card and license and abruptly put it on the counter saying it wasn’t yet 3pm and then attended to the gentleman behind me. Sandra walked up and said, “Can I help check you in?” and Sally tried keeping her from checking me in. Sandra was very pleasan

We are regular customers of this hotel. It's always been our favorite New Bern Hotel and we can't imagine staying anywhere different. The first night was the absolute best, I had the BEST night of sleep and it was so quiet. The second night was a different situation. Someone had checked in after 9pm that night and was given a room on our floor. Next to our room, all I heard for almost 2 hours was children screaming at the top of their lungs and thudding and running and banging thing's around. It was so loud you could hear it in the hallway. I did eventually go to the desk to see if anything could be done (husband and I were there celebrating our wedding anniversary.) She said the person next to us was not supposed to have anyone with him and I told her there have to told her there has to be At least 2 kids in that room having a huge meltdown. She said she'd handle it. I laid awake well past 11pm listening to it and was promptly woken up the next morning by it. I really wish someone had done something to address the issue. He may have been there a few times but it didn't change the fact I had to listen to kids screaming in the room next to us. Other than that it was a goodstay.

I called the front desk, told them we had a service dog, they assured me we were near an exit on the first floor. The next day we were approached aggressively, and told this wasn’t a dog friendly hotel, the staff should be “trained” how to ask without being argumentative.

The housekeeping staff was excellent. Our room was taken care of every day and if we needed anything they took care of it immediately.

The front desk double charge me the accidental fee. And dont know how to reverse the charge. Ridiculous

The check in did not show the correct type of room I booked but the employee fixed it right away!

Check in was done in a fast and efficient way. Staff was exceptionally nice. Will certainly stay there again.

Wonderful staff

The property met our needs well in providing a place to stay for a family wedding. What was absolutely exceptional was the customer service when we forgot an iPad in our room. I received a call from the hotel that an iPad was found by housekeeping before we noticed it was missing. As we were already on the road traveling home, I asked if the item could be shipped. The staff arranged for this and immediately sent the iPad (and a small stuffed toy that my daughter left behind) home for us. I am so grateful for the trustworthiness of staff and how well we were accommodated.

This was an overnight stay for my wife and I. The hotel was conveniently located to downtown and shopping nearby. The room was clean and updated with nice furnishings.

Good room, very convenient to Craven Community College. Only a "bare bones" breakfast, however ... I might have expected a few more offerings for the price.

Great bed, clean room, quiet hotel with shopping and restaurants close. Bagels, waffles, cereal, yogurt at breakfast bar, didn't see fruit or hot protein food like eggs or meat. There is an IHOP across the street. I would stay here again.
