The Beresford Hotel

The guy who worked at reception was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late around 8pm. When we booked in there was no parking left to use. The guy at reception said no problem you can use my parking space around the back, he said there was room for us and guided us around. He then waited at the back door and let us in to save us walking around to the front of this large hotel. Excellent service from a great and friendly guy. The hotel itself is very tired and run down. Our room was clean so we were not that bothered by it. It was very cheap for the night so bear that in mind you get what you pay for. If you’re easy going like us you wont care. We enjoyed our stay which was made better by the efforts of the friendly guy at reception.

Awful experience. Room was in a terrible condition- rusty handle in shower, paint flaking from woodwork and stained carpets. Would never stay here again

This was most probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. We knew as soon as we saw the outside it was going to be grim!!!. The reception guy was nice enough. Firstly he went to put us in a room on the 3rd floor. When i told him i was disabled he moved us to the 2nd floor. Luckily he got the lift working. But what he didnt mention was thst to actually get to the room ypu need to go up 2 flights of stairs. When we finally got to the room the corridor carpet was filthy. Once we entered the room, the room itself was ok. I was too frightened to look at the matress as there was no protecters but after a 9 hour drive all we wanted was a good nights sleep. I then opened the bathroom door and the stench was unbearable id never smelt anything like it. We opened the window wgich did very little.. my friend who suffers from sinus problems was up most of the night with terrible sinuses. I had to spray purfume on my pillow to overcome the smell. Whem we awoke the following day exhausted with headaches as during the night the fire alarms went off twice. We looked at online reviews and read that the smell was septic gas. We were horrified to read that it can actually kill you so we considered ourselfs very lucky . Outside parking reads reserved but we parked for free . We also sneaked 2 dogs in No breakfast facilities or onsite restaurant. Overall Newquay has seriouslly declined so wont be visiting again. Hotel needs to be condemed as its a death trap Do not go

C’est un établissement à éviter à tout pris. Je laisse peu de commentaires mais il est dans un état déplorable. Il y a des fuites , des moisissures, les sols sont sales , rien n’est entretenu correctement ! La chambres était presque inaccessible avec les valises à cause de la pente des escaliers, bien sûr l’ascenseur ne fonctionne pas. Arrivé à la chambres la porte était dans un état pitoyable les sols du couloir très sales, la salle de bains le toilettes pas nettoyé avec des « cadeaux dedans », les lits fait aléatoirement, les meubles d’autre temps. Nous avons vu la chambre sans avoir monté les bagages. Nous avons bien fait . Nous avons refusé de dormir à l’hôtel. Nous avons cherché un autre hôtel du coup. Remboursé ou pas de la nuit nous ne voulions et pouvions pas y dormir. Bon courage pour ceux qui y séjourneront !

Fire alarm went of once during each of my two nights stay Once at 1.30am and the other day at 3am in the middle of the night No one from the staff came to check on guests, no information given either Really unsafe process in place - doubt its compliant either … would be interesting to check Horrible stay and they refused to refund the stay while they could not even fulfil the minimum required from a hotel - being able to sleep basically Not recommending this place at all
