My husband and I were booked for 4 nights. When we arrived we were told there was no elevator and no luggage carts. They did offer a first floor room. However, we explained that we both have heart issues and lots of luggage. The walk to the room included 2 sections of hallway on quite an incline and then a long walk to the room. We explained that we would not be able to carry all of our things that far. There is no mention on any info that I read about the facility not having an elevator. There was no offer to assist with luggage. The lobby and hallways were not air conditioned. There was a slight funky smell throughout. We did not go near the pool. But, from a distance had quite the green look to it. We could not physically stay there. They would not waive the one night fee that was charged to our card. The cancelation policy requires 24 hour notice. This is not a good location for anyone with any health issues that would make it difficult to get luggage to a room.

Beds were super comfy! No elevators, but they have an easy wheelchair ramp up to each floor so it is super easy to navigate. Rooms were very clean and up-to-date. Great stay!

Check in was friendly, the room itself was great very clean and comfortable. The hallway smelled very unpleasant and the pool looked sort of like dirt had settled at the bottom and then too much chlorine got put in to tey to counteract. Overall I was pleased with this day the bed was comfortable and that's the most important part to me along with the cleanliness of the room.

Stayed here after crossing Lake Michigan via the SS Badger from Wisconsin. This was my second time staying here as it was convenient and of good value the year prior when I did the same motorcycle trip. The hot tub was welcoming, as was the staff. The rooms were clean, and I loved the pillows. No funky smells. The hot tub could’ve used a cleaning - the bottom was beginning to accumulate a slipperiness. Other than that, it’s always been right on the money for the convenience, comfort, and service.

Got the King Suite specifically for the 2 person hot tub. It has no jets, just air bubbles from the bottom. Only one ice machine for a large motel. Pool and hot tub were nice but pool surface needs refinishing. Great location

We understand the facility had no impact on the electricity going out due to what we believe was an accident that occurred down the street. Power was out from about 7pm to 1am. My husband pointed out when we got into the room there were dead bugs in the bathroom floor. We are always ok with dead bugs. However, the next morning when a roach ran up the wall. That is just more than I can take! Call the exterminator again! There was someone's clothes left behind the door in the bathroom. This makes me feel the room was not cleaned very well. The room looked clean and didn't have a bad odor.

Our room was clean but overall our stay was only okay. This hotel just smells bad. The hallway and our room had a mildewy, musty smell. We went to the store to buy an air freshener and avoided being in the room most of the time. We had family that stayed in a different part of the hotel and it didn't have that same smell so I'd recommend only accepting a room if the number stays with a 3 or 4. Our room number started with a 2 and that whole section smelled terrible. The hotel is built on a hill and is long, so each numbered section is separate and goes higher up the hill, (1-4) with 3 and 4 in the same section with 2 floors. The free breakfast was good and had many options. The pool and hot tub needed to be cleaned. We appreciated the microwave and refrigerator in our room.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, the Manistee hotel would be fine. The pool and hot tub were nice and the bed comfortable but we were quite surprised when wiping up water after a shower that the floors were filthy. The bath towel we used was completely black and it appeared it hadn’t been mopped in a long time. As stated by other patrons the hot breakfast was horrible and they would have been better off not mentioning a free breakfast. It consisted of sausages, 2 kinds of cold cereal (no milk), waffles (no syrup), bread, and bagels. Everything was rationed out and food was put out one or two at a time. Apparently they were afraid someone would take too much or take something home. Even the butter, cream cheese and coffee was out in limited supply. Right at 9:30 on the dot, what food was out was whisked away. Don’t count on this breakfast to start your day.

The hallway smelled horrible on my way to my room and once I entered it there was mold in the tub, the grout in the tile floor was supposed to be tan, but majority of it was black, the view out the only window was of a

Checked in and checked out the same day-within 5 minutes of checking in. We found dead and live bugs (cockroaches) in our room! They offered another room, but where there's one roach there's sure to be others. They would not give us a refund. Wouldn't recommend staying there.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, convenient location. Pool and hot tub available (we did not use them though) and hot breakfast in the mornings. Cons: Second bedroom didn't have A/C so it was pretty warm/stuffy.

The hotel is dated however the lobby, dining area and our room was very clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent and had a good amount to choose from. If you're looking for somewhere budget friendly to stay a night or two, this is a good option.

Our stay is always good. The check in was ok. The clerk was very nice, but maybe new? In my online reservation note, I asked for 300 hall. He didn’t see it and tried to put us upstairs. No elevator so I showed him my request and he apologized and fixed it. No problem, but a delay. Not a big deal. Then he put a hold on my credit card. Kinda messed up my shopping ability. After he put the hold on he asked if we have stayed before. We have many times over the years. He said I should have mentioned it and they wouldn’t have needed to hold it. Maybe he should have asked before the hold. That was my only aggravation.

It was a good stay. We’ve stayed at this hotel for the past few years and this time the staff didn’t seem as friendly. One day we asked when they were going to be able to clean our room around 3pm and the guy just said he has a list to go by and he will get to it when he can. He did get to our room but he only took the trash and the dirty towels. He did not replace the towels, did not replace toilet paper, and he did not sweep or vacuum. When we went to the front desk to get towels and toilet paper - the lady only gave us two towels and one roll of toilet paper — but we had three people staying in the room. We borrowed the broom from housekeeping so we could have a clean floor. The hotel is in the middle of a bunch of updates so this may be why they aren’t as attentive to the customers - but the customers are the main reason for having a hotel. Perhaps they need more staff.

Clerk was not a bit hospitable. Rooms were dated and seriously used. light switches to nothing and let me stop there and call it a place in need of renovation.

When we checked and got to our room the card key wouldn’t work , so we went back to office and they reprogrammed our key and went back to our room and key still wouldn’t work. We had to wait for maintenance to come and fix the door, then after a while we went out on the town for a bit and when we got back, our keys wouldn’t work again and had to go back to office at 2:00 am to get someone to let us into our room.

Value for money in comparison to similar priced competitors. The front desk staff is excellent, the bed was clean and comfortable, the body contoured bath was excellent. The hot breakfast was great value and again the staff kep the area immaculate. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but the area was again kept nice. The outside isnt much but the the offering inside is well worth the stay. Would definitely stay again. 10/10

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly! The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was decent for what you pay to stay. The outside of the property was very bland and uninviting. The coolest part about the outside of the property was the big ship across the road.

Breakfast could have been better, but area was nice. No fruit or yogurt. Staff was very friendly. It’s positioned on a curve that people take fast, so caution pulling out to the street. It’s on the base of a wooded hill, so it can feel like being in a secluded cabin.

Cold water. Reported. Sent up maintenance. Told it takes time to heat. Ran 10-15 minutes before it would get hot. Walked around room with my white sock footies. When I took off the bottoms were totally black. 730 am eggs were Luke warm. Sausage not hot. Coffee good.

This is an average hotel. Good price for the stay as it is clean. Customer service isn’t great. “Hot breakfast” is true but the eggs are always burnt and the rat is limited. The only pluses are the coffee and waffle machine. But if the person who is responsible for breakfast isn’t there, your “hot” options will be white toast. Good luck

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, the Manistee hotel would be fine. The pool and hot tub were nice and the bed comfortable but we were quite surprised when wiping up water after a shower that the floors were filthy. The bath towel we used was completely black and it appeared it hadn’t been mopped in a long time. As stated by other patrons the hot breakfast was horrible and they would have been better off not mentioning a free breakfast. It consisted of sausages, 2 kinds of cold cereal (no milk), waffles (no syrup), bread, and bagels. Everything was rationed out and food was put out one or two at a time. Apparently they were afraid someone would take too much or take something home. Even the butter, cream cheese and coffee was out in limited supply. Right at 9:30 on the dot, what food was out was whisked away. Don’t count on this breakfast to start your day.

This place is OLD!!! Although they are trying to renovate it, they should just bulldoze it and rebuild. From the pictures, we thought it might be "retro" -- NOT! OLD and nasty! And, to boot, even though we got down to breakfast 35 minutes before it ended, they were out of everything and wouldn\'t even refill when we requested. Another patron said it was the same way for the past 3 days. Juice machine had NO juices, there were no breads or muffins at all, and the eggs and meats were awful. Sorry, I can\'t recommend this place to anyone.

This is our 2nd time staying here in a month. This time we got a room with a Jetted tub and what a wonderful night! Everything was clean and in good working condition. The bed was comfy. Very friendly staff. Great hot breakfast in a nice, clean cafe setting. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Bar soap and makeup remover towelettes are provided, but no shampoo or conditioner. Extremely happy with our stay here and you can't beat the price!

The hotel is dated however the lobby, dining area and our room was very clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent and had a good amount to choose from. If you're looking for somewhere budget friendly to stay a night or two, this is a good option.

This place is a CON! I’ve never experienced such disrespect and lack of empathy for people! For 1 they wouldn’t allow me to check in early and that was fine but I asked if I could swim while I waited and they said no. So I waited to get there at 3 and once I got there the owner refused to let me check in because I last minute had a extra person and the room I booked was for 2 so he threatened me a $150 fine if I stayed. Then when I decided to go elsewhere and he refused to cancel my booking so I could get my refund. He said either stay in the room and get fined or I’m screwed. He’s made it EXTREMELY difficult for me. This place is definitely gross and dirty looking, it has a rice and shine attached to it if that doesn’t tell you something. I would HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else! When you book a hotel your expected a certain hospitality and this place is NOT it. Save yourself the headache. You get what you pay for here.
