What a perfect first night stay in the UK! Everything about Bel & The Dragon Cookham was lovely. From the warm staff, to the quality of the food, to the great bed, to the guest-only self-serve tipples (sloe gin and whisky), everything was carefully attended to. Every staff member was helpful, esp to help us navigate on our first day. Highly recommend a stay here in one of the oldest pubs in England!

From the warm staff, to the quality of the food, to the great bed, to the guest-only self-serve tipples (sloe gin and whisky), everything was carefully attended to. Every staff member was helpful, esp to help us navigate on our first day. Highly recommend a stay here in one of the oldest pubs in England!

Fantastic find! Great location. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Dinner was delicious! Not very easy to park but wait after 6 pm and spaces become available. Overall, we liked the hotel a lot.

The check-in was straight forward and the rooms lovely. The beer garden was lovely. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, great selection.

Nice property! Not an abundance of seating in the bar area, but an excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Room was clean and well appointed. I like a hard bed, but it might have been a bit too much even for me. A really great stay overall!

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, this hotel is a great option convenient to Marlow and Bray, friendly welcome and price. The staff were very friendly and we had everything we needed for our stay, complimentary water, tea, coffee and biscuits and tipple were a nice touch. There is no carpark but we used the carpark close by which was fine. Entrance to the hotel is through the main pub which was a little chaotic as New Year’s Eve but that was to be expected and everyone was very welcoming. Would stay again, I imagine the garden would be nice in the summer too.

Loved the quiet atmosphere in Cookham. Glad we opted to stay here instead of Marlow. Fabulous hotel. Great atmosphere in pub and dining room. Great selection of wines. Gorgeous outdoor area. Breakfast was fabulous.

We loved this little B&B in Cookham. It was located on an adorable street. It had a beautiful garden and restaurant. The room and bathroom was large for England standards. We loved our stay here.

Nice hotel with clean and comfortable room. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food in restayrant was excellent with a good choice. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and not buffet style.

We had a lovely time, the hotel was very well maintained and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The food was good, we had Sunday lunch and breakfast which was good quality. The room was on the small side and could do with more storage if you were to stay longer.

A very pleasant place to stay. Our room was quite small, perhaps unsurprisingly for a venue in town, but clean and well appointed, with a separate toilet (and sink) and bathroom with shower and basin. Breakfast was fresh, well prepared and generous, and the staff were very accommodating. Would happily stay again if the occasion arose.

Stunning location with an old world pub feel mixed with excellent contemporary restaurant. Be aware rooms in main building have very low head room until your in the rooms, but rooms are lovely and generally well maintained. Could do with a small desk or work area for business travellers. Breakfast amazing and dinner generally excellent

It’s a beautiful area and the inn itself is lovely. Sadly we were given “Hilda” as our room. It was small, shabby, no room for bedside tables and really cramped. The widows were small and hard to open, on a hot day with no air con, it was a small oven, we were really uncomfortable, I cant deny we felt disappointed, the pictures obviously don’t show this room, not even enough room for a coffee machine as shown on all photos. Toilet needed a deep clean too, skirting’s were really grubby. I get the feeling that this room isn’t used much, sadly we got given it. Breakfast very good though, but still had to return to our little room, which wiped out this positive.

I had to wait ages to check-in as the only member of staff was being engaged in conversation with couple also checking-in. It would have been nice to have been acknowledged. The room was so small that there was insufficient room for a bedside table. It was cramped and nowhere to work. The bed had a large and unnecessary bolster pillow but I couldn't move it as there was nowhere to put it. The bathroom was adequate but no very clean. Possibly the biggest irritation was a lack of a USB point which I would take for granted in any hotel. Fortunately, the battery on my phone lasted just long enough to recharge in the car. Some of the room decor was very tired. Plaster missing in the ceiling and a large hole between the window frame and the wall. The road outside is extremely noisy. Only on-street parking. Breakfast was very good although a little slow. Nice creamy well cooked and well seasoned scrambled eggs. This is the second time I've stayed at a hotel within the group: it will be the last.

The hotel and facilities were excellent but my room faced onto large air conditioning fans which rendered undisturbed sleep impossible. Won’t stay here again.

A very pleasant place to stay. It's a cute place, and I loved the complimentary drinks. The room I occupied had a lot of charm, including the low door-frame when coming out of the toilet (and banging my head against it, despite being warned of it just moments beforehand).

I had to wait ages to check-in as the only member of staff was being engaged in conversation with couple also checking-in. It would have been nice to have been acknowledged. The room was so small that there was insufficient room for a bedside table. It was cramped and nowhere to work. From our arrival to our departure, everything was better than expected. Although we arrived early, our room was changed so we could check in early and we were served coffee gratis while we waited. The room was comfortable, the bar area cosy for having a drink and the quality of food and service for our evening meal was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and included a continental buffet as well as cooked items of choice. They also held our luggage until our departure later in the afternoon. The assistant manager was friendly, approachable and helpful as was the lady who checked us in and served us breakfast. It was sad to leave.

Breakfast was very good although a little slow. Nice creamy well cooked and well seasoned scrambled eggs. This is the second time I've stayed at a hotel within the group: it will be the last.
I had to wait ages to check-in as the only member of staff was being engaged in conversation with couple also checking-in. It would have been nice to have been acknowledged. The room was so small that there was insufficient room for a bedside table. It was cramped and nowhere to work. The bed had a large and unnecessary bolster pillow but I couldn't move it as there was nowhere to put it. The bathroom was adequate but no very clean. Possibly the biggest irritation was a lack of a USB point which I would take for granted in any hotel. Fortunately, the battery on my phone lasted just long enough to recharge in the car. Some of the room decor was very tired. Plaster missing in the ceiling and a large hole between the window frame and the wall. The road outside is extremely noisy. Only on-street parking. What a great place full of character, after staying at the Marriott this was a breath of fresh air, parking was the only problem. Is a very old pub so parts are very quirky. Bags have to be carried upstairs but was helped by staff on our arrival. Breakfast scrumptious. Didn’t eat at night as caught up with relatives. Peaceful walk along the river starts just down the road. Could definitely recommend, if I came back to this area would stay here again

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, this hotel is a great option convenient to Marlow and Bray, friendly welcome and price. The staff were very friendly and we had everything we needed for our stay, complimentary water, tea, coffee and biscuits and tipple were a nice touch. There is no carpark but we used the carpark close by which was fine. Entrance to the hotel is through the main pub which was a little chaotic as New Year’s Eve but that was to be expected and everyone was very welcoming. Would stay again, I imagine the garden would be nice in the summer too.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Bel & Dragon and we will stay there again when next in the area. Close to great restaurants and pubs. Their service and accommodations are top notch. It’s a lovely cozy charming village break from the big name hotel chains while still being accessible to London, airports, and parts surrounding.

Nice property! Not an abundance of seating in the bar area, but an excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Room was clean and well appointed. I like a hard bed, but it might have been a bit too much even for me. A really great stay overall!

Loved the quiet atmosphere in Cookham. Glad we opted to stay here instead of Marlow. Fabulous hotel. Great atmosphere in pub and dining room. Great selection of wines. Gorgeous outdoor area. Breakfast was fabulous.

Constantly rave about this place. Best place for miles around. Great accommodation, great food, perfect surroundings. Almost don’t want to recommend it as it gets booked up. Prices up there a bit at the moment, so tough to get through expenses…quick gin as you get to your room, always good to relax you after a days work 😊

Last minute stay and very pleasant surprise. What a beautiful hotel. Room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Lovely building with a mixture of original 600 year old pub with an amazing restaurant and outside area. Staff could not have been more pleasant. Our breakfast was a delight with a choice of some excellent alternatives.
