We enjoyed our stay at The County The rooms were excellent The Breakfasts were delicious The parking is free if you can find a white space in a nearby car park (200 metres away) But it’s a town centre property so it is okay.

The hotel was excellent. Welcoming staff and a good clean room, including an upgrade. Only problem was no parking at the hotel. Good was good and well presented.

Location was ideal for my needs. Parking is not straightforward. Staff are superb, many thanks to Fiona for her friendly welcome. Bed not the most comfortable and it does get noisy quite early, so if you are not looking to get up early … use the ear plugs provided.

Great stay, staff were all lovely and accommodating to our family. The room was very comfortable and nice size. It was very clean with great facilities. Breakfast was tasty with quick service and great quality. Parking was very easy around 100m walk away was a very large free public car park, and we found it very easy to stop outside the hotel to unload and load the car when needed.

We stayed at The County Hotel, Hexham for one night whilst on a road trip of Northumberland, arriving on a Saturday, and what a great stay it turned out to be. The hotel looked very smart and tidy to arrive to and we received a warm and helpful reception. It was good to receive the off-site parking information by email a few days before our arrival so we were prepared on where to park, which was in the large and free shopper’s car park a short downhill walk away, where we used the parking disc provided by the hotel. Once we got to our room, we were very pleased with the cleanliness, décor, furnishings and comfort and ended up having a very good night’s sleep there. Our spacious and large bedded room faced the main road at the front but we were not really troubled by any noise. (Ear plugs were provided!) The bar was also very welcoming, busy and appealing so we choose to eat there from a very good menu and also sampled the drinks from a very good choice of lagers and beers. The bar staff were very friendly and tentative and the food and beer was very good! Breakfast was also very good with a very varied choice from fresh fruit to full English. Nice ambience in the breakfast room too. Hexham itself is a very interesting old town with plenty to see by foot from the well-placed hotel. Very pleased with our stay there and wished we had stayed an extra night. The County Hotel rates as one of the best UK hotels we have stayed at since Covid. 10 out of 10 to The County Hotel.

All round great hotel. Friendly, clean, central, free parking nearby, good choice at breakfast. If I was to pick any fault at all it would be the mattress in our room was a little harder than we are used to, but dont let that put you off - a great place to stop.

This is a privately owned hotel that has all the qualities of a major 5 star chain, it is spotless, the attention to detail in everything is incredible, it’s a warmly welcome from everyone and the amount of customers it gets shows, there are no signs of cheap bedroom furniture bought from cheap shops, everything is matching and feels like quality. Well done to all of you and keep going onwards and upwards.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and totally helpful. The menu was varied and suited us well. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was situated well so we could walk down and see the Christmas lights. All in all a perfect stay. Thankyou all.

Arrived on Saturday 27th August check in was straight forward & was shown to our room by the manager who explained some information about meal times etc. There was also a book with all information in it regarding fire precautions,local amenities & places to visit.Very nice room,cleaned daily. Good selection for breakfast & the evening meals we had were superb.All the staff were friendly & the service was excellent.

Very nice room and stay, staff were great. Only issues were room was cold, didn't think to turn radiator on so was fine when that happened, telly is small and no mirroring or hdmi option. Fire alarm went off but those things can happen.

The County Hotel is comfortable, with excellent breakfasts. Although our room was directly over the bar area it was quiet by bedtime & just in case they are needed... the hotel provides free earplugs in the room.

Great food, excellent staff. Fiona is an awesome manager. Nice big room, very accommodating - they made me a terrific bag lunch for my walk on Hadrian's Wall. I would recommend them very highly.

Did an overnight stay as a couple on the way back down to Nottinghamshire from Scotland. Wd could not fault the room and the service for the price and the restuarant wad great value wigh good quality too. Breakfast was all you could hope for: we will definitely use again when we ard in the area.

All the staff we dealt with were personable, pleasant and efficient. Everything was done with a smile. Room was comfortable and well provided. Food was good and most reasonably priced. Pity we could not stay longer. We really enjoyed our break.

We were a couple, staying over for 1 night after a day at Hexham races. The check in was great, very easy and straight forward. We were shown to our room by the lady owner (sorry I can't remember your name) who was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, with an area to sit, a huge bed and a big en-suite. We had lunch in the bar downstairs which was a toastie and chunky chips for £8.95, excellent value. The breakfast was good the next day, a cooked breakfast to order and cereal, fruit, muffins etc on the buffet table. Would certainly stay again next time we are in Hexham.

Once we got to our room, we were very pleased with the cleanliness, décor, furnishings and comfort and ended up having a very good night’s sleep there. Our spacious and large bedded room faced the main road at the front but we were not really troubled by any noise. (Ear plugs were provided!) The bar was also very welcoming, busy and appealing so we choose to eat there from a very good menu and also sampled the drinks from a very good choice of lagers and beers. The bar staff were very friendly and tentative and the food and beer was very good! Breakfast was also very good with a very varied choice from fresh fruit to full English. Nice ambience in the breakfast room too. Hexham itself is a very interesting old town with plenty to see by foot from the well-placed hotel. Very pleased with our stay there and wished we had stayed an extra night. The County Hotel rates as one of the best UK hotels we have stayed at since Covid. 10 out of 10 to The County Hotel.

We stayed two nights at the County Hotel in Hexham while we explored along Hadrian's wall. The building was very charming both outside and inside, the staff were all so helpful and delightful, and the food in the pub was excellent. It was also very centrally located within easy walking distance of both the train station and bus station. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hexham.

Did an overnight stay as a couple on the way back down to Nottinghamshire from Scotland. Wd could not fault the room and the service for the price and the restuarant wad great value wigh good quality too. Breakfast was all you could hope for: we will definitely use again when we ard in the area.

Large comfortable room with a wonderful bathroom. Both the food and the cocktails were quite good. The only drawback was that there is no on-site parking.

We were a couple, staying over for 1 night after a day at Hexham races. The check in was great, very easy and straight forward. We were shown to our room by the lady owner (sorry I can't remember your name) who was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, with an area to sit, a huge bed and a big en-suite. We had lunch in the bar downstairs which was a toastie and chunky chips for £8.95, excellent value. The breakfast was good the next day, a cooked breakfast to order and cereal, fruit, muffins etc on the buffet table. Would certainly stay again next time we are in Hexham.

I love the County Hotel have stayed there many times. Fabulous friendly staff. The lunch menu is varied and delicious and the breakfast is great with local ingredients. You are made to feel so welcome. We stayed in room two which was lovely, with a fab bathroom. Only problem I found as someone with arthritis is the quite deep 3 stairs leading to that particular room. I think a small handrail would be helpful. Also what happened to complementary water in the room? Apart from that I would recommend The County 100%. Well done everyone.

We had room 6, good size, as was the bathroom & lots of coffee, tea etc. we ate in the hotel which was good and had a few drinks in there. The room was warm but it was during the hot weather and a fan had been provided. Good choice of breakfast as well. We loved it and would recommend it if you’re heading to Hexham!
