Holiday Inn Lexington - Hamburg by IHG

Stayed here for daughters UK graduation weekend. The shower only had hot/warm water the morning of 5/9 and was cold on 5/10. We switched rooms hoping that the water issue would change. It was still ice cold on 5/11. We also didn't realize there was no continental breakfast that we've always had when staying at any other Holiday Inn. Were told at the front desk on 5/9 that if we had paid for breakfast. we would have received tickets for it when we checked in. When I made the reservation, I don't recall being given the option to include breakfast.

Comfortable room and very convenient location. Easy & pleasant check in.

Only problem was water in shower and sink was luke warm. I really wanted a hot shower after driving all day and it was barely warm. No i didn’t report it because i was tired and didn’t feel good so i just went to bed.

Stayed for 5 days - did not have hot water during the stay. Pool was closed for maintenance the entire time. Limited room service - did not replace towels or in room coffee pods. On a positive note - the front desk was always willing to help. But the hot water and pool situation was just out of their control.

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. First, we did not receive the room we booked. We reserved a king bed but were given a room with double beds. When we called the front desk, we were told there were no other rooms available, so we had no choice but to stay in that room. The bigger issue was that we had no hot water. When we reported it, we were told to let the water run for 10 to 15 minutes, which is not normal. The staff member was not very helpful and acted like this was standard. We followed her instructions, but the water never got warm. When we called back, she seemed frustrated but moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the new room also had double beds instead of a king and still had no hot water. It appeared to be on the same system, so the issue continued. This caused a lot of stress as we had plans and a schedule to keep. We were told we would receive 20% off our stay, and later were told it would be increased due to the continued issues. However, at checkout, a different employee informed us only $30 had been taken off, which was not even the promised 20%, and nothing additional was honored. She said she was unable to adjust it further. What’s most concerning is that the hotel was very busy, yet guests were not being informed about the lack of hot water. That is a major issue. If there is a known problem, guests should be notified so they can make other arrangements. The location is great, but stay elsewhere if you want what you pay for
