Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Austin NW - Arboretum Area by IHG

Friendly staff, pretty clean. Noisy since the freeway is right next to it, not sure why it's so noisy, I guess the windows aren't thick enough. Pool was closed for renovation, problem is that it was closed for the same reason last year?! I look for pools in hotels for a reason, and I hate paying for amenities I can't use.

Lobby did not look too good because they are fixing the roof over the eating area... besides that the hotel is very nice, very clean and we had a great stay there.

Both elevators were broken. Carpet in stairwell and hallways was stained and visibly dirty. White bedsheets had spot stains (reddish). A clean hotel is my expectation. This place was not. I would not stay here again. This is twice now that a Holiday Inn Express was just dirty and gross. The other time was in ABQ.

The staff here is SO friendly and accommodating! Our kids have a wonderful time at this hotel and the pool + cabanas are a blast, with lots of floats available. It is a little home away from home!

The hotel was clean, nice staff, and great breakfast options. The major disappointment for us was the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was beyond murky and then we realized it was COLD and not working whatsoever (no sign or anything saying it was broken or closed). The pool was also so cold we didn't have much interest in swimming without a hot tub! The outdoor space had a lot of potential, but it was just a bit neglected!

We came in for the State Cross Country Championship. The hotel was nice and quiet and clean. The only thing I didn’t like was that we were out by the pool watching the college football game in one of their cabana like spaces. There was only 6 minutes left in the game and the employee lady came and told us that she was closing the pool area and we had to go inside. That wouldn’t have been bad except they didn’t have a tv in lobby anymore and there was 10 of us watching the game so we wouldn’t fit in any of our rooms.

Breakfast options were great! Enjoyed the pool and even the hot tub. Staff at the front desk were very accommodating

Excellent service, but the elevator was out of order, staff was offering gratuities from the pantry to compensate.

I was terribly disappointed by this hotel. With all the positive reviews, I expected to find an awesome hotel that is clean and worthy of the rates charged. Well that did not happen. Check in was great, the front desk person was super nice. However, the disappointment began when we opened the door to our room. Filthy, filthy room! The carpet and rug were so stained that I was afraid to take my shoes off. The room was so run down! The furniture looked so old and scuffed up and the desk chair was frayed and ripped. The sofa and sofa chair were disgustingly stained. Everything in that room including the lamps were stained and dirty. I wanted to run out of that room but it was past 10pm and the chance of finding another hotel that late at night would be tough. My entire family was so disappointed, as I was, in the condition of the room and overall cleanliness of the hotel. The swimming pool and breakfast were the only decent things this hotel had to offer. I’ve stayed at nicer and cleaner hotels for less money. Holiday Inn is a no go for me from now on.

Been here twice. Consistently very clean, no odd smells, great breakfast & 24/7 coffee. Also front desk help are always friendly & helpful. Will keep staying here on future visits.

Quick turnaround trip over weekend. The hotel was located in a great area. Food and restaurants close-by. We didn’t eat breakfast because Ruby’s was close. Hotel was clean and quiet. Good night’s sleep. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

It was a good stay. Breakfast was tasty with good variety. It was a bit confusing with the dining area being taped off. Also, when entering our floor the carpet was really dirty. The 2nd day it seemed that there was some vacuuming but it was still trash here and there in the hallways. The security lady seemed to have never moved from the front desk chatting. Not cool.

Loved the comfortable beds

The fitted sheet was dirty with pen marks and other stains that looked like human oil body. The shower had no water pressure. The bed was very hard and not comfortable. We’ve stayed at other Holiday Inns express and never have run into issues as these.

Staff are super friendly and helpful . Room was very large and extremely clean. Little bit of renovations going on in lobby area when we stayed. Overall good property.

Super friendly staff, good clean room, blackout curtains, good AC in room, easy self parking with good visibility from room, bed arrangement with double beds were exactly what I booked and beds were very comfortable. Shower curtain was a bit of a challenge to keep water from getting on the floor because the shower head was not very adjustable and was very high pressure at all settings, but we worked it out okay with minimal fuss and a decent bath mat towel was supplied in addition to extra towels. Mini fridge worked great for refreezing ice packs for small cooler we brought. Complimentary glass of wine and hot wings and French fries (apparently it was National French Fry Day, lol) at check in was a really nice treat after a long drive to get to the hotel. Pretty quiet, but areas of floor in rooms without carpet resounded loudly from our room as well as the floor above, so we tiptoed around late at night, and the guest upstairs did too after 10pm, so it worked out fine. We didn’t visit the pool, but it looked beautiful and well kept when we peeked out at it. Getting out of the parking lot is a little challenging because the freeway exit merged into the access road at the entrance/exit to parking, but loved easy access to the freeway to get around town. Very close to very nice dining. Microwave in room had a crumb inside and bedroom furniture was a little bit worn, but overall we really enjoyed our overnight stay and will definitely be back! Good experience for the price!

The staff is very welcoming. The breakfast was well stocked. Price per night is on the high side. Our room was comfortable but people above our room were very noisy walking around their room 2:00 am.

I’ve been to numerous hotels and many places, but this is the first time I’ve ever slipped going into a shower. The surface of the bathroom was rather slippery and when lifting my other leg to get into the bath, my foot that was in the shower slipped forward after it was planted firmly. I luckily didn’t hit my head, but my leg is still sore from this. I ended up just staying at my friends home the rest of the time. Also, when I got back the beds were not made after using them one and no personal items left on them. Not my best stay and this is probably my last stay at any IHG hotels in the near or distant future.

AC worked great, water was hot, beds and pillows very comfortable, hotel provided dove soap shampoo and conditioner, lonby provided toothbrushes and other essentials people frequently forget free of charge, hot breakfast was great and varied daily with lots of healthy options, and all staff were very friendly. We will be staying here in the future.

I appreciated the kindness of both of the staff members I dealt with. They went out of their way to be caring and kind. Both the check in and check out experience was magnificent. I commend your hotel for hiring them. The beds were cozy, and the coffee was terrific. It was a cold day, so hot coffee was great. Did not have the same experience with the tru location, so id choose this locatiin over the other next time

Staff was helpful and friendly. Traveling on my own, I liked that you had to be fuzzed in after 10pm. Felt secure. It was one of the only places in Austin that doesn’t allow pets which was a huge plus for me because I am very allergic to cars and dogs even after a place is cleaned and vacuumed. Everything was spotless and well appointed. Will stay here every time I visit my family in Austin.

The breakfast was great and the hotel staff was amazing.

Stayed here during a sports tournament. We were able to use the lobby for a gathering place and to feed the boys dinner. Everyone was comfortable. Very clean. Front desk was accommodating. Breakfast was quick and easy and the attendant kept the food and coffee fresh. All around great stay.

The front desk person was accommodating. His name was Adam and he allowed me to check in an hour early, which was great because I was really tired from being on the road all day. He was friendly and even remembered who I was from my phone call.

Terrible experience, RUDE receptionist. WIFI did not work on 4th floor; the cards could not open the room door, tried two times and didn't work out. The receptionist was rude, aggressive, and unwilling to help.

Requested extra pillows from front desk representative, but she failed to deliver.

The staff was extremely nice. The young lady that checked us in was kind enough to sign me up for the reward program. Jose was extremely kind late in the night to help with multiple items. We’re not a traveling family but we enjoyed this hotel and had us considering other trips as long as we’re staying with similar amenities. Thank you!

Really pleasant stay. Super friendly and helpful staff - day and night!! For a crowded place, it was impressively quiet! First room smelled like smoke and they were quick and happy to move us to a different room. Very accommodating in a variety of ways. Walkable food options and other big stores nearby.

This place is very convenient to the freeways with easy to get around. The staff is very nice and it is very clean and the morning breakfast is nice. I only complain to visit we would put in a working that was right next to the kitchen and the first floor and it was a bit noisy around 6 am. I want ear plugs the second night which made it easier.

One night quick trip. Decent location but egress can be difficult because of extremely high traffic highway frontage roads. Hallways needed to be vacuumed. Rooms were fine but the hallway appearance was less than optimal.

Ellenor at the front desk is fantastic! Very friendly and helpful, remembered our names and family names. Breakfast had a good selection, and different offerings each day. While the hotel is undergoing remodeling, it was not intrusive, or noisy. Room is comfortable and all the appliances worked well. Bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains did keep the light out well if you wanted to sleep in. Great location for our activities. Thank you
