We were there during the week so it was a quieter time… location is great, the views are amazing, the hot tub is big with a view of the ocean, the continental breakfast is high quality, the rooms are nice & the bed is really comfortable.

Pros: This property is very clean and well maintained with updated facilities. The parking is free and the room was nice and big with a very large bathroom as well. Cons: On the down side the hotel has thin walls, you can hear every footstep and even running water from rooms above and next door. They only serves a cold complimentary breakfast with no cereal, bacon, eggs etc. only fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and drinks. Only a few small tables to sit and eat, so you have to bring your food back to your room.There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel. The “gym” was a closet sized “room” with only enough space for two cardio machines, one bench and set of small dumbbells. Not enough room to even fit a mat on the floor next to the bench. The door practically hit the bench when opened. No circulation or air in the gym room. The staff were polite at the front desk but not friendly. I was honestly a little disappointed for the price.

This is a very nice hotel overlooking the beach and ocean with immediate access to the coastal trails. Great restaurant/bar immediately next door. The terrace, pool and spa area is great. It’s nice to soak in the whirlpool while watching the waves crashing. Very comfortable room with living room and kitchenette. Nice deck. Good bathroom amenities

The room was very clean and the staff is really responsive. There’s breakfast until 10:30 and plenty of parking space. Jacuzzi is open pretty late outside overlooking the water. Fireplace is awesome in all rooms. There’s no restaurant in this hotel so you’ll have to book something outside. Not all rooms are over looking the water. Overall, we were very pleased during our one night stay in half moon bay because of this hotel amenities. I would recommend.

This was our first time here, and it won’t be our last. The hotel surpassed our expectations in every single category! It’s clean, quiet, people are so nice at the front desk, the location is phenomenal with wonderful view of the ocean, their free continental breakfast is wonderful, and their parking is free!!! A bonus is that there’s Sam’s Chowder house next door you can walk to and their food is amazing! You’re getting this review from a person who usually stay at Ritz Carlton and eating at Michelin Star restaurants, so I know a thing or two about hotels and restaurants. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. It’s charming and is a hidden gem. I will come back every year since my mom is buried at Skylawn Memorial Park which is up in the hills near Hwy 92. Very convenient and so happy I found this place!

We stayed here the last evening of a California road trip. The hotel and room were immaculate and well maintained. Some minor issues were noted. While it’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting, for the price point some aspects were disappointing. The shade above the exterior balcony door was broken; which made sleeping past sunrise impossible. The coffee maker was dirty, and we opted not to use it. Reception staff were wonderful.

While it’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting, for the price point some aspects were disappointing. For the price we paid we had to pay $2.50 for a bottle of water that probably cost a fraction of this amount. Most hotels will give you one free per day. Also, there were ants in the bathroom

We only stayed for one night, but the Hotel Was clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff were all very nice and helpful. Our room was very welcoming and accommodating. The location is great, the pool was warm even though it was only in the 50 degree temperatures. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and included fancy pastries in addition to the basics. We loved it! We would definitely stay here again!

Nice location on the water and walkable to restaurants, shopping, breweries, and beaches. Fireplace, kitchennette, and separate shower and tub were nice ammenities. Parking was full on a busy weekend but once parked we had no need to drive since dining and shopping were within walking distance. I would stay here again.

There is not much to not like about this hotel. We had a ocean front balcony room with a super comfy bed and a comfy sleeper sofa (although we couldn't pull the sofa bed out for some reason and the bedding smelled slightly musty so we slept on top of the very deep sofa). The view is gorgeous, including the precious bunnies below. The big drawback was the small child staying in the suite above us who stomped around until 1am above the bedroom and woke up early to boot. Also a wee bit annoying was that the wine hour from 6 to 7 ended early and we missed it, but that was a small thing. Overall, the attention to detail, the updated amenities (the hallway smelled gorgeous which was an unexpected treat for a seaside hotel where they are often musty) and the kind staff who granted us a later checkout due to the ruckus above us make this hotel well worth the splurge.

This was my first time staying at this property and it was great. They were able to accommodate me coming a bit earlier than check in, and the front desk was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and the fireplace and balcony was a great touch at night. I would definitely come back and stay again, and hopefully for longer next time!

The beach house is a beautiful hotel right next to Half Moon Bay beach. Generally, we had a good experience. We had to upgrade because our original room was facing the freeway and had a wall in front of the window. After the upgrade, however, it was fabulous.

The only place to stay by Half Moon Bay. Such a comfortable room, bed, bathroom & living room sitting area with a real wood fireplace. Great outdoor patio sitting area, heated pool & large spa. Walkable to some restaurants, the beach & bike/walking path. Great continental breakfast. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great ocean view, liked the stove top, refrigerator , microwave even though we did not have the opportunity to use them. The only negative, for me is the bed was a little bit soft, could use a replacement. Breakfast was very good.

Nice room with a fireplace and balcony, great breakfast, easy access to the sea. Only demerit is that it is very close to the highway and therefore a bit loud sometimes.

The property is on the beach, this is my 3 time staying at this hotel... however the check in process this time wasn't smooth and welcoming like usual. A young lady without even welcoming asked me for my Id and my credit card and without even asking me nothing she is trying to charg my card $1.119,00 after 2 time my card got declined BCS I do have a max security amount that you can be charge in one transaction...she tells me my card got declined!!! I disappointedly look at her and I explained to her FIRST of all I have already payed the amount for 1 night(I have reserved the room through a third party) Second of all I said to her you should have checked on your computer my reservation to figure out if I should have paid and how many night I should be charged of... I couldn't believe my eye...when she kept trying to make me paid $1,119.00...I never ever had experience something so embarrassing!
The property is on the beach, this is my 3 time staying at this hotel... however the check in process this time wasn't smooth and welcoming like usual. A young lady without even welcoming asked me for my Id and my credit card and without even asking me nothing she is trying to charg my card $1.119,00 after 2 time my card got declined BCS I do have a max security amount that you can be charge in one transaction...she tells me my card got declined!!! I disappointedly look at her and I explained to her FIRST of all I have already payed the amount for 1 night(I have reserved the room through a third party) Second of all I said to her you should have checked on your computer my reservation to figure out if I should have paid and how many night I should be charged of... I couldn't believe my eye...when she kept trying to make me paid $1,119.00...I never ever had experience something so embarrassing!

This was my first time staying at this property and it was great. They were able to accommodate me coming a bit earlier than check in, and the front desk was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and the fireplace and balcony was a great touch at night. I would definitely come back and stay again, and hopefully for longer next time!

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Beach and horizon and ocean view fabulous. Also -- the Reception staff went 'above and beyond the call of duty' to help me with an unusual need. I needed car transportation to another part of HMB, and they arranged for a driver to pick me up, do the errand I needed to do and drive me back to the hotel at a very reasonable cost. Also -- the breakfast on our next day morning was far and away the best 'breakfast offered' we'd ever had: VERY fresh and delicious pastries and bagels from nearby bakeries. A surprising and excellent treat!

Ocean/Inlet view with outdoor patio and fireplace in the room. Next door to Sam's, an excellent restaurant with incredible views. The person at the desk was not very welcoming, not a good vibe, but I have stayed there many times and that is not usually the case.

Nice location on the water and walkable to restaurants, shopping, breweries, and beaches. Fireplace, kitchennette, and separate shower and tub were nice ammenities. Parking was full on a busy weekend but once parked we had no need to drive since dining and shopping were within walking distance. I would stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel overlooking the beach and ocean with immediate access to the coastal trails. Great restaurant/bar immediately next door. The terrace, pool and spa area is great. It’s nice to soak in the whirlpool while watching the waves crashing. Very comfortable room with living room and kitchenette. Nice deck. Good bathroom amenities

The beach house is a beautiful hotel right next to Half Moon Bay beach. Generally, we had a good experience. We had to upgrade because our original room was facing the freeway and had a wall in front of the window. After the upgrade, however, it was fabulous.

My partner and I, love our stay here at the Beach House. Our ocean view was breathtaking. We got to watch the sun go down, then we walk on the trail down to Sam’s restaurant, it’s just next door to the hotel. Our bed was so comfortable, we love our room, and enjoyed the morning breakfast. It was an amazing experience for both of us. We are definitely coming back to stay longer soon

I’ve stayed here 5 times and love it. It’s a wonderful hotel in an excellent location. There are great amenities- wonderful breakfast spread, heated pool/hot tub, beach access, proximity to restaurants, very walkable. Our most recent stay was very comfortable, but a couple things seemed worn in our room. One of the patio chairs was broken and one of the lights in the bathroom was broken, so you had to shower/potty in the dark, which wasn’t ideal. We will return because it’s a great spot.

Took an overnight trip to the coast to relax and this was an awesome place to do it. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. I stayed in the Ocean View suite and it was perfect! Glass of wine on the patio overlooking the water in the evening and coffee in the morning enjoying the cool weather. I would recommend two nights to get the full effect. Was able to walk over to Sam's Chowder House for apps and drinks and safely walk back.

Pros: This property is very clean and well maintained with updated facilities. The parking is free and the room was nice and big with a very large bathroom as well. Cons: On the down side the hotel has thin walls, you can hear every footstep and even running water from rooms above and next door. They only serves a cold complimentary breakfast with no cereal, bacon, eggs etc. only fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and drinks. Only a few small tables to sit and eat, so you have to bring your food back to your room.There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel. The “gym” was a closet sized “room” with only enough space for two cardio machines, one bench and set of small dumbbells. Not enough room to even fit a mat on the floor next to the bench. The door practically hit the bench when opened. No circulation or air in the gym room. The staff were polite at the front desk but not friendly. I was honestly a little disappointed for the price.

Our only suggestion for improvement is the complementary breakfast. Thu good, the yogert choices are high in sugar. Having cottage cheese or no sugar greek yogurt with some meats and cheese would be a plus. Regardless, we'll be back.

The room was very clean and the staff is really responsive. There’s breakfast until 10:30 and plenty of parking space. Jacuzzi is open pretty late outside overlooking the water. Fireplace is awesome in all rooms. There’s no restaurant in this hotel so you’ll have to book something outside. Not all rooms are over looking the water. Overall, we were very pleased during our one night stay in half moon bay because of this hotel amenities. I would recommend.

The ocean view from our room was excellent. It was a little sad that smokers were out on the balcony smoking even though it states that you shouldn't be doing that. The place needs some updating. The continental breakfast was good. The only hot item was the instant oatmeal that you could make. Would be nice if they shared that it came with refrigerator, stove stop to boil water, coffee machine, microwave & toaster.

Staying at the Beach House on our way to Monterey Car Week has become a tradition for my husband and I. After the short drive from SFO we look forward to sitting on our deck, relaxing and watching the pelicans. Rooms are spacious, with a fireplace and kitchenette. The hotel is close to many great local restaurants. But they do serve an excellent continental breakfast. We’ll be back next year!
