Location good. Easy check in. Bed comfortable. Rooms very soundproof, especially given we over Looked the pool. Only one elevator awkward as our room was on the other side of the building. Door in the back closer to our room was never locked allowing anyone access to the building, especially as it was in the back and unattended. In today's world where everyone is upping their security this is not acceptable. It is evident that upgrades are being done, but workmanship and eye for details are missing. Tiles set unevenly and cut to incorrect length in bathroom. Grout/caulking needs attention. Moulding is chipped and raw wood showing throughout the room. Took us a day to figure out how to work the TV. We accidentally turned the A/C unit off and took us 30 minutes to get it back on. We are intelligent and are up to date with our tech....this shouldn't have been this tough! Restaurant expensive for breakfast. We used our $20 coupon the first morning only. We had a delicious breakfast down the road at the breakfast cottage for less than the Mediocre meal we had WITH the $20 coupon. Overall a solid 3.

We loved the resort property! It was very clean and esthetically sound. It had a wonderful pool, tiki bar and restaurant on site. They offered live entertainment which was a treat. Another great feature was the complimentary shuttle. It took you to local beaches and to another Casey Key private beach. Chairs and umbrellas were provided. The downside to our stay was the upstairs hallways were very warm and humid. Also, the restaurant did not open until 11:00 am forcing you to leave the resort if you wanted something earlier. We had two amazing hosts, Amy and a gentleman who always greeted us with a smile. In contrast, the brunette who worked 2nd shift was not too pleasant. We had picked up and returned beach towels to the front desk daily. However, she was the only one to have us sign the book with our room number. This is only an issue because when I signed it, no one else had signed out towels in 3 days. She said she needed my signature to keep track of them. However, 12 to 15 people were already at the pool with beach towels yet they did not have to sign. It made us feel like there was an underlying message. My suggestion, in the future, please have the rule for all guests so others don't feel singled out. Overall, it was an awesome vacation.

Everyone was very welcoming from the moment I got there till I checked out. They answered all my questions. The shuttle to the oceanfront property was wonderful and appreciated and it's complimentary. The shuttle driver was friendly and professional.I highly recommend this resort and I have plans to return.

Check in was easy, staff friendly. Bed was comfortable. Issue was with bathroom, particularly the shower. The grout needed a good cleaning and scrubbing. Did not anticipate a dehumidifier running in the room.

As soon as we walked in, it had a horrible stench of mold! Dead ants along the window sill. One of the panels was put in the wrong way, so the light was shining through and anyone outside could look into our room! I didn’t realize it till I was laying down in bed with all the lights off. the bathroom was repulsive. I saw one of mold flies in the shower. The hinges on the bathroom door are rusty. I had to wait to get to the next hotel to shower because I wasn’t stepping foot in that dingy shower. So, all day, my hair stunk like mold. All our belonging smelled like mold. On the website it’s false advertising. It probably looked like a really nice 10 years ago, but it looks like a rundown motel in person. The bed lamp was rusty! you guys can’t afford to buy a new lamp? The beds weren’t comfortable. I couldn’t sleep because I felt like some thing was going to crawl on me. But thank God,Nothing did. At the Pool area run down nothing like the pictures. The patio chairs were old, and had mildew and the bars were sticking through the seats. My mom wanted to have breakfast there. They gave us a $20 voucher. I told her I wouldn’t want to eat in this place. But she talked me into it saying we should get our money worth, so we’re waiting to be seated. There was a line to be seated even though there were a lot of seats available. The people in front of the line left, I think they were waiting too long to be seated. The room was dirty with mold lining the grout in the shower, floors were dirty, room smelled like weed. Outdated furniture and light fixtures, Louvre blinds from the 70’s. Insufficient towels in the bathroom. Noisy hallways and you can hear the shower from room above. Would not recommend. Over priced restaurant with no ombiance. Beds were comfortable but linens stained!

When we got in our room, it smelled mildewy. It was a basement wet smell. One of our blind slats were missing, so I didnt feel that we had privacy. Also, when we woke up we had ants all over us in the bed. I would not stay here again or recommend this to others. I told management about the ants, and no apologies or offer of discounting the room. I was very disappointed.

Enjoyed our 2 week stay here in a very large King room. Only thing we would have wanted was a microwave in the room instead of the hall. Beautiful pool area. Convenient to Venice and Sarasota.

Nice room, but with a few issues: 1) No closet 2) No microwave (one is in the lobby) 3) No desk lamp - only lighting is in the ceiling and next to the nightstand, very inconvenient for working 4) No electrical outlet convenient to the desk 5) Very slow wi-fi 6) Very responsive and efficient front desk clerk for check-in, the exact opposite for check out. She could not be distracted away from her cell phone to engage a customer 7) No elevator to the 2nd floor

My daughter & I checked in for our 7-night stay and were initially given a 1st floor room on the pool side (we had requested a poolside room with balcony). However, the room smelled musty & was very dark. Plus, it was located right next to the Tiki Bar which was way too loud. I went to the front desk & requested a 2nd floor room & we were given it immediately with no problem. What a difference! Farther away from the Tiki Bar & the 2nd floor room was bright & cheerful. It made a huge difference in our week-long stay. Plus, the a/c drowned out the rock music that either played all day long or in the evenings until 9 pm. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Nokomis Beach & Venice, which was great. Also, the room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay! Only caveat: the Tiki Bar & pool area is loaded with partiers & kids which extended into the hallways once the music stops at 9 pm. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel!

Front desk staff was always ready to assist and very helpful. Room was always spotlessly cleaned. Enjoyed outdoor dining and bar service. Loved Octoberfest--delicious food. The restaurant server Doreen always had a ready smile and very accommodating. Our first four days at the hotel were so pleasant we extended our stay another 3 days.

I'm simply giving the resort a 2 because I never stayed here. It may be a great place. What i do know is that i booked a room online two hours before arriving thinking it was the ocean location. When I arrived, I was told it was the inland location. They allowed me to cancel, said they would add a note for the manager that it was cancelled because I wasn't able to cancel the same day with booking company. I would need to call them. When i called online booking, they called the resort, and they declined a refund. I tried to contact them. I was forwarded to the "manager" to leave a message, but mailbox is full. Way too much trouble to get a refund for somewhere I never stayed. They lost no revenue from my booking mistake. Obviously i would never use them again. Good luck.

When we walked into the property, we were pleased to see how much nicer it was than the photos. However, their bar and wait staff are TERRIBLE. We tried to be patient, but we didn’t even stay our second night there it was so bad. If you’re not going to be enjoying the hotel amenities like bar, breakfast and tiki bar, perfect for you. The staff was phenomenal. Every single employee that I met during our two night stay was extremely helpful and friendly. The only negative during my time there was the renovation that was going on in the back of the property. I will definitely stay there again if I’m in the area.

Ive stayed here many times. We were greeted by the Concierge Moe who gave me a free Bottle of Champagne for my Bday. We received free breakfasts for each day we stayed and Doreen the waitress was amazing! It was 118 degree heat index so we spent alot of time by the pool where Rena the bar tender went above and beyond to make our stay feel like family. The only complaint I have, I wish house keeping could have been a little more thorough. We didn't have supplies, throughout our stay. Other then that I will be back again! Love this place!!

Location good. Easy check in. Bed comfortable. Rooms very soundproof, especially given we over Looked the pool. Only one elevator awkward as our room was on the other side of the building. Door in the back closer to our room was never locked allowing anyone access to the building, especially as it was in the back and unattended. In today's world where everyone is upping their security this is not acceptable. It is evident that upgrades are being done, but workmanship and eye for details are missing. Tiles set unevenly and cut to incorrect length in bathroom. Grout/caulking needs attention. Moulding is chipped and raw wood showing throughout the room. Took us a day to figure out how to work the TV. We accidentally turned the A/C unit off and took us 30 minutes to get it back on. We are intelligent and are up to date with our tech....this shouldn't have been this tough! Restaurant expensive for breakfast. We used our $20 coupon the first morning only. We had a delicious breakfast down the road at the breakfast cottage for less than the Mediocre meal we had WITH the $20 coupon. Overall a solid 3.

There were long blond hairs on top of the bed and som more hair on the pillows. I don’t believe the room was cleaned properly. The service at the restaurant is mediocre. Had to wait a while to get serviced at breakfast when there was only one family seated and the restaurant was empty. There were 3 waitress standing around talking. In a separate occasion, we were questioned about our breakfast vouchers in front of other guests, implying we were lying about turning in our vouchers. The breakfast staff is a disaster.

However the extra pet fee was ridiculous & should be charge when someone books a room to include a pet--NOT charged once we were checking into our room at the resort! Every other hotel or even AirBnB I've booked charges the fee as I’ve booked the reservation so I wasn't expecting to pay an additional $50/night on top of what I already spent--& certainly wasn't happy about that! The breakfast was excellent! It included great, very DELICIOUS meal options. Still, we stood in line the 1st morning for 35-40 minutes just waiting to get a table for breakfast (which, again, I've never had to do at any hotel or resort prior to Casey Key).

The rooms are large, easily accomodating 2 queen beds, a large cabinet and desk area with a chair. Rooms have a mini fridge and a coffee maker. There is a microwave on the ground level by vending and ice to use with other guests. I asked if there was one available for our room and they provided one! The pool is big with plenty of chairs and loungers, a few gazebos as well! They had live music several times by the pool. There is a shuttle that runs to bring you to their beachside location, but we didn't utilize it. I noticed another reviewer said the shuttle was not available on weekends. When I was there, on the off season, it ran on weekends and weekdays! Thank you to all of the Casey Key team! Your kindness made our stressful move and home search a positive one for us!
