Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Charlotte Airport by IHG

I was waiting at the airport for 40 minutes before a Hokiday inn shuttle showed up, then I got in and it was the wrong shuttle, I was traveling with my kids and we were exhausted and hungry. Then I got to the hotel and they gave me a room where heater didn’t work, I had to call the lobby and change rooms. The driver even got upset when I told him I waited for him 40 mins, and I even called the hotel 3 times when I arrived to get picked up.

Great check in experience. I took the shuttle to the wrong airport and they came and picked me up. Check in was smooth, breakfast was easy and convenient. Staff was also great, from the check in and out staff and the drivers!

It was a nice hotel, with good amenities. The pool was cold though.

The pool was “closed for cleaning” for days we were told once we got there. Not advertised online that pool would be closed

Airport shuttle took fifty (50) minutes to arrive at Airport Station 1 from a call to the front desk from airport baggage? Airport is a eight (8) minute drive from Holiday Inn Express & Suites??? The question becomes "why the delay???"

Charged $11 to self-park in the lot. I have NEVER had to pay for parking in a hotel’s parking lot. Shameful.

Awesome hotel for a layover. Close to the airport, but still within reasonable access to other conveniences. The hotel was very clean, quiet, spacious room, nice quality breakfast. Shuttle drivers were very friendly, safe driving. Checking in/out was smooth.

I was charged 11.00 per day to park at this hotel. It was not in a downtown area and had a parking lot attached to the hotel. No reason to charge extra other than to rip off the public. The rude person at the front desk just said it was billed by a third party vender. Look at this hotel on a map.

Hotel was ideally placed, just a quick 10 min ride to the airport (Shuttle also available). Not noisy, pleasant surroundings, lovely front desk staff

Hotel was very close to airport so it made it easy for our flights. Breakfast had a good range of items and fresh ground coffee was available. Staff were very friendly! Our room was as booked, however it was not deep cleaned. Sheets appeared to be changed but corners were dirty with dust and hairs, counters were not wiped down, the shower/tub was clean however the caulking had pink mildew and rust stains, the shower head also had pink mildew so we didn’t shower, our carpet had a sticky spot and a there was a faint mildew smell in the hallway. The hallway didn’t appear to be vacuumed well as there was debris including a q-tip outside of a room for more than 24 hours. Parking is $10 per night, just an fyi. We may have had an off-day or they were short staffed on cleaning teams. Overall it was convenient for flight travel, just wish our room was cleaner.

Checked into hotel and my husband killed a cockroach in the lobby. That should have been a sign because we found one in the bathroom at 430 am and didn’t sleep the rest of the night. Room was dirty too. Told the front desk in the morning and they did nothing. Just said “sorry”.

The dresser, night stand, and desk still had stains. There were cup rings on the night stands. The escutcheon was detached from the shower wall and The floor around the front of the toilet wasn’t cleaned well. Other than those issues, it was a good stay.

The property has a nice shuttle that runs back and forth to the airport. Al, my driver was super friendly and helpful. The hotel decor was also nice however not very clean. There seems to be staffing issues. The coffee area which is suppose to be available 24/7 was always unkept, always low on coffee creamers, and one evening unusable because trays needed to be emptied. The front desk staff appears to be in charge of breakfast and taking care of entire front area of lobby which is a lot. Floors were always dirty by elevators, garbage by elevators always floor, very little to no towels by the pool. Staff was very friendly and approachable but they gave way to much to do. The front desk ladies were all really nice. They assisted in checking me into a room early afternoon because my flight was early so I didn’t have to wait in the lobby. Biggest issue was that housekeeping never came to take out garbage and change towels during my entire stay (3 nights). They was irritating. When I called about it, I was told I could get my own towels at the front lobby. If you’re not going to provide housekeeping service during people’s stay, they should be told up front. Larger bins for garbage should be provided along with extra garbage bags in each room. I did like that my room had a safe, a large fridge and microwave. Room was fairly clean at check in but floors were not super clean. Beds and pillows were pretty comfortable. Overall an average hotel with very nice staff!

The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and the beds were comfy.

The hotel could have been cleaner ex. There was urine around the bottom of the toilet, and on the last day we saw a roach in our room. The room itself was pretty ok, I would stay there again, because i understand things happen

The rooms need a good deep clean and some care. There was a broken tile with an inch diameter circle missing from the tile. Around the the tub fixtures and behind the bathroom door need a good scrubbing along with the fixed shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser.

The staff was awesome! The room was dirty… dirty walls, mold in bathroom, dirty bed spread, dirty carpet.

The room was okay. There was a good amount of mold on the shower ceiling, phone in the room didn’t work and was not in desirable part of town.

The staff and outside area for this hotel were great. Overall the room was a great size. We had two queens and a sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa was ver uncomfortable. The metal springs were very uncomfortable. The room was semi clean. Just surfaces, walls had stains and floors not very clean. Queen beds very comfortable. Quick and convenient for the airport but not many dining options nearby.

A little loud, but not much above the norm for airport hotels.

Bed was hard. Staff was unfriendly. Pool was ICE cold (I mean, why even have it?!). Hotel was clean but unfortunately I would not return.

Great place for the price. Short drive to downtown. Everything is good except that rooms on one side of building are a bit noisy at nights due to the proximity to highway and airport.

Booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express near Charlotte International Airport because I was flying out at 06:00 in the morning. The desk clerk was competent and very polite. I was surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the room. I slept like a baby and will do the same if I need a great option to stay near the airport!

The lady who checked us in was extremely friendly and very helpful.

I am super annoyed about having to pay for parking at a suburban hotel with its own parking lot. That was a first for me. I was told it was a new policy. A night in an average hotel, and then extra for parking. Ridiculous. There were 6 of us in our room as stated in the reservation, and only pillows for 4 and towels for 4. Asking for more at the front desk was met with kindness, but an "I don't know if can get you more pillows" but she found 2. So two of us were shorted a pillow. We also requested a late checkout because one of my children was up late due to illness. To cap off this fun filled adventure in mediocrity, a man on the cleaning crew barged into our room right at 11 without knocking, rudely asking my mother and childern if they were getting a late checkout. No apology for not knocking and a lousey attitude. He came back a minute later with a clipboard to ask again agout our late checkout and I answered the door. He was much more polite to my 6'2" 200lb self. The attitude immedteltly disappered, but still no apology for waltzing into my room. My family was in various states of undress due to getting ready and my daughters were mortified. We spoke to the front desk about it and we were offered points for our next stay. Not a chance. I will not stay at this hotel again. Disgusted is an understatement. I guess privacy is another extra you have to pay for at this hotel.

We were disappointed to learn onsite that they don't clean the rooms at all during your stay, no matter how long you're staying. They only bring you new towels and empty your trash, nothing else. Otherwise, they said you can request a full cleaning, which we did, and they still never did. They also only brought us towels and emptied our trash on one of the three nights we were there. As a young family with a baby and diapers, this was a hardship. Other than that, it was a good stay. The daily breakfast was hot and tasty, property was in good condition, bed and shower were good The gym was totally decent, we used it multiple times while there.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Shuttle service was outstanding. The room was very nice and clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay.

Lobby and breakfast were nice. When we arrived check in was smooth. When we got to the room a housekeeper was "checking" the room. The room was very hot and we set the AC on 68 and left for the event we were there for. We arrived back 6 hours later the room was still 73. We had a rather hot uncomfortable night but it was late and kids were tired so we stuck it out. We were "surprised " that morning at 0900 while getting dressed when a housekeeper walked into our room without knocking and we didn't hear the card reader. We did let the manager know of these issues upon check out.

The door to the room did not close completely on its own, leaving the room accessible to any one. Shower handle was set to not provide hot water in the shower, barely warm water. I was told by the shuttle driver that no one put on the schedule for the early morning shuttle to the airport, after I asked two separate staff people to the night before.

This was the most friendly staff we have ever encountered. They were exceptional.

Staff was very kind and fun to talk to. Initially there was a line but another staff member came to help.

Good standard for a holiday inn express and very convenient for airport. Only issue is lack of good restaurants nearby within walking distance so a car is needed.

Convenient to the airport for a quick layover.

The hotel was fine, however the area is not safe. My vehicle along with 5 others were broken into. Our back passenger window was shattered. No security or cameras. Law enforcement was involved.

Staff is amazing always with a smile and a hello. Breakfast was so good the best I have yet to see for a complimentary breakfast. Fresh brewed coffee all day. Room super clean comfy clean bathroom very quiet not even sure we had people next to us it was so quiet. So close to the airport and the highway.

Computers down so it took awhile to check in. Ty was wonderful with us though! Breakfast was 2/10. Bagels frozen, oatmeal watery. Had to cut my trip short by one day and the hotel refused to refund the one day. Won’t get my business again

The property was nice and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property was clean and well kept and right off the highway. The breakfast had a nice variety, the pancake machine was out of order but there was still plenty to choose from. The breakfast did run out but it wasn’t the staff’s fault the oven had went out and they made every effort to continue providing breakfast for everyone, using one skillet to keep making hot food. They were nice despite some guest being very rude about the situation. I enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay again

We waited 20 minutes and no breakfast was being served. We had to catch a plane so I would have chosen another hotel if I’d known this. Also the noise outside our window was extreme. We were over a door and a party area with loud music. The hotel did ask them to turn it down.
