More affordable option not far from downtown. Parking was right outside our door for no additional charge.

Not fancy, but clean room in a quiet secluded neighborhood with free on-site parking. Staff was universally courteous, helpful and made guests feel welcome. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced off-the-beaten-path lodging alternative, with nice staff but limited amenities, this is the place for you. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again if/when I’m back in Halifax.

Outside property looked and felt a bit sketchy. Inside was clean and staff were great.

The room was very clean. The parking lot was well lit. Great one night stay I will return.

Room was a little rough but fully functional and the only issue was not enough parking. Otherwise staff was friendly, food was good and nothing to scoff at.

The parking lot is not big enough for the number of rooms available, and is laid out inconveniently. There is no walkway from the back of the property to the front, so if you have to park in the back "lot", it is unclear if there is an easy way inside the building. (There doesn't appear to be.) It is noisy, between the heating system (which doesn't seem to be controllable from inside the room), people talking and smoking directly outside the room, and the highway next door. Whoever painted the bathroom had a very artistic flair, believing that about half of the paint would look better if it was splattered all over the floor. The beds were metal and very squeaky...but they were otherwise comfortable.

This property is reasonably priced and very comfortable. Free parking and breakfast is a bonus for this property and fairly rare in Halifax. I stay here every time I go to Halifax for work.

Door to room had been kicked in and lock did not work- put a chair under doorknob for safety. Screen window in room was ripped out. Outside area was dirty - would not recommend. Room itself was clean .

There were baby mice in our room. And the room was very noisey. Could hear everything outside and in different rooms

Clean room, great staff, mostly quiet

There was a rat in my room, and the recipient was rude.

The room was clean, but the baseboards were broken. found a mouse in the room, terrible! Did not clean the rooms every day, we have to tell them

The smelled of mold

I hav been traveling since September 15. Booked many rooms through Expedia as well as other providers. There are big stains on the chairs as well stains in the tub. Worse place to date

There was a MOUSE in my room. No effort to do anything, staff blamed nearby construction, as if that has anything to do with the lack of cleanliness and many holes that allow the rodents in. The lamp had a dangling lightblub with an exposed wire, mouse poop around the mini fridge, and it was wholly unsanitary. I really regret showering without flipflops, given the conditions, I worry about catching a fungus! Only use this hotel if you have no other option... I had a better option, but this one had free parking, so I thought, why not? MISTAKE. I would happily pay for parking with a clean room. Breakfast was meh, not bad, but certainly nothing special. A few baked goods, fruit, coffee/"tea" and orange juice... Oatmeal, pre-made mini pancakes... It will feed you if you're desperate but I just grabbed a muffin and an apple with some tea and water. Didn't wanna risk it too much. Staff were fine, just very unserious. Not really grasping how unsanitary, and technically illegal, it is to have a mouse infestation and continuing to rent out rooms... And I was on the second floor! I can't imagine how bas the first floor is! Oh, and ZERO temperature control. I couldn't sleep with clothes, or even a sheet over me and I still woke up in a puddle of sweat. Even turning on A/C didn't help because the heating system was stuck on 28 degrees. WAY too hot for sleeping! I even shifted the heater to "cool" and it still did nothing. Overall, one of my WORST hotel stays of my life.

It was the cheapest option in the city, and did just fine. It was clean and simple. Met my expectations for the price.

no towels on the room, when asked never came to us, just when asked again on next day. cockroach poop on the drawers, garbage bag full leave in the room, beds not "made" and duvets thrown on chairs. first and last time on this place.

Rooms are very old and not clean. No plugs by bed. Room is very dirty. Outside is very dirty with cigarette bits everywhere. Would not recommend this place.

Ac noisy. Lots of outside noise

When booking I was not expecting much and this hotel failed to even deliver the basics. We checked in and was given a key, not a card, but a regular house key. Upon entering our ground floor room we were hit with a wall of heat. It was 11 degrees outside and about 30 inside. We tried the thermostat but that didn’t work as it was turned off. We went to open the window and found only one opened and that was missing a screen. Staff advised they control the heating and it’s one setting for the whole hotel. We were given a fan to help. We then noticed that our tv (Shaw box) did not work, no big deal we were just going to be sleeping there but then we noticed that the door, the only exit to our room had no other lock. There was a chain lock but was missing the end that actually secured it to door. I again brought this issue to the staff and was told she would come take a look at our issues. The woman did come and look at the tv, took the remote, checked the chain lock and said she’d be back to fix. After an hour, we had to leave for supper so went to the reception again. This time it was a different person. This person knew of the issues but said that the hotel was full so they couldn’t move us and that not all the doors have a second lock. They just don’t have time to fix them I was told. We did not stay the night. The heat was unbearable and the room was a safety hazard. Management and staff were professional although unhelpful this is why I am not giving 1 star. AVOID!

Couldn't adjust room temp, AC extremely loud, couldn't open the window as there were no screens. Was clean although basic. Good for a one night stay if all you need is a safe bed and bath.

Noisy air conditioner and older property but bed was decent enough and very simple breakfast was sufficient. Not bad value when you factor price.

There was no lock on the inside of the door, only the outside, eerie! There were no covers on the outlets. The A/C was broken and they had a portable one in the room, which was nice, but it was taped into the window, which made it very noisy in the room. There was a power bar running all the appliances. There was no phone or cable, I was expected to put in my own info to access most tv. Overall it was not a great experience.

It was ok , internet not strong enough

The pipes in the bathroom or somewhere clicked all the time and it was very loud. Clicked allllll night long except for two times where it stopped for maybe 15-30 min all the time. Sounded like the pipes were banging. I tried closing the bathroom door and that did not help. I did not sleep all night. Other than that the room was clean and was good for the price we paid. There was no plug for the tub either.

The price was great. The hotel was a little rundown but its what expected for the price point. The only issue i have is the internet connection was awful in my room.

The friendly and efficient staff.

When I drove up I immediately had suspicions about the facility as some rather scruffy looking characters were standing outside the ground level units, wearing fake Jordan 1’s (no swoosh) and piss stained track pants. I had instant regret wash over me. I was a little early and not offered accommodation to store my bags until check in and while I sat in the lobby I could help but notice how unkempt and shabby the kitchenette was. It feels like they’re barely trying. The two women working at that moment were nice enough, but I decided to but my bags back in my trunk and go for a run. When I returned a few hours later to check in things took a strange turn. I sat in the lobby and waited for someone, anyone to come to the front desk and then once the woman working the front counter got to the counter, she rather than being accommodating or understanding about my confusion over the added requirement for a deposit (on top of the fee I already paid through the third party [Expedia]) she rather coldly just looked at me and said well you can just cancel and go somewhere else. And then when I had follow up questions about the return time of the deposit, and her sour attitude persisted. I’ve worked in customer service for 20 years and if I ever spoke to anyone with that tone I would have been taken in the back and given a warning about my job security. I will in fact be going somewhere else next time I am in Halifax.

The hotel is not clean the front desk person was horrible smoking outside of the door when we arrived we there at 2pm one hour early we were the only ones in the office section she replied I haven’t heard from cleaner so you will have to come back so she is saying that there was no rooms cleaned with an hour to check REALLY not one room and she was very ignorant so arrogant that I did not go back and booked at another hotel I never really answer these but if I can help people not staying there I will take some time to write a review

For the price we were satisfied. The housekeeper, Stella was very friendly, giving us suggestions of what to see and where to go to dine. When we had an issue, staff responded promptly.

While this property is older, it is a great location for convenience of travel around the Halifax area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathroom was recently renovated and updated. The property offered a contential breakfast and lemon water in the lobby. Staff were friendly. A great value place to stay.

Reception guy wa rude and unprofessional Water leak from 4th floor drop on Window AC in our room, that make a lot of noise, The guy on the reception desk said i can't do anything since you used the room, i had to argue on him and get really upset before he changed the room The AC is loud in all room ( old window AC) and doesn't cool well Breakfast area is so small like a 1 bar desk, i didn't even think to try it

I had to check out after one night unexpectedly, and the hotel will not refund the balance of my stay and refuses to make contact about it.

This is a good place to have a sleep and explore Halifax by car. It's in an inconvenient location - not close to anything, but has the basics and is quiet. Staff are polite and the contiental breakfast will get you through until lunch.

AC not working, the highway sounds like its coming into the building, load people in the parking lot at night. Sheets smelled bad

There was construction happening right next door which started up at 7:30 am. It was also difficult to get into the building being someone with mobility issues.

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean, but does require work/some modernization. To no fault of their own, the road construction makes it difficult or confusing to find the property. There is also a build taking place directly across the street. That begins at 7AM. Cost for a quick over night in the city was fair. Would stay again

Small hotel off the beaten path a little. Easy access to downtown via bus. Free breakfast although that could be better. Had everything I needed

The staff were very helpful and kind. However, this hotel is not in a very convenient location, requiring a car to get anywhere. The breakfast is basic with fruit, yogurt and a plethora of white baked goods. Good for the budget traveler.

The hotel is a good deal for the price, but it's definitely long in the tooth. Transit is a decent walk away, and there's not much in the immediate vicinity. The AC in my room was so loud it was unusable. Breakfast lacked any protein - hard boiled eggs would go a long way.

Despite its age it was a very clean and comfortable place to stay, with the staff being friendly, courteous & helpful. The one thing that needs improvement is the continental breakfast as it needs substantial improvements in all phases. I would stay there again but knowing that I would need to make other arrangements should I decide on or need breakfast!

Clean, quiet, comfortable bed, a/c was quick cooling room, shower was hot. Supplies in room were good. Microwave, fridge, coffee maker all present and working. Breakfast offerings very basic but better than nothing.

No nonsense place short on bells and whistles but good basic accommodation with everything you need. Could put wifi info in the rooms to avoid unnecessary trips to the lobby. Could also expand breakfast beyond carbs with carbs.

Room was clean, but a little pricey from the area and the room.. not much of a breakfast at 8am. They had a couple pieces of fruit that looked a bit old a few yogurts, one pancake some bagels a couple of muffins n danish and a few pieces of bread. Coffee n Tea n hot chocolate. They didn’t seem to interested in replenishing it.. So we just grab a coffee and left. I would have preferred them have no breakfast and a lower price for the room..

Don’t let the facade fool you. The building looks dated but when you walk through the doors it’s a whole new experience. The lobby has been renovated and the staff was welcoming. Our room was very clean and had also been renovated. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is not a hot breakfast but there are options available.
