Nedre Svarverkjær Gård is an old farm carefully refurbished over two years. The main house sits in a sheltered clearing in the woods, with a large garden and an apple orchard around it. The farm has five buildings, and guests have access to the main house and the nearby shed. Other family members may occasionally be around the property.
The 86 sqm house runs across two floors. Downstairs are a hallway, a bathroom with bathtub, shower, and washing machine, a kitchen with dishwasher, and a living room with a fireplace and TV. Upstairs are two large bedrooms and a small library with a sleeping alcove. The kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated, with underfloor heating in the bathroom.
Outside, the front porch is furnished with a sofa, and the large sheltered garden has several seating spots, hammocks, and a round Weber charcoal grill. Several lakes suitable for swimming and fishing are a short walk from the house. Pets are welcome on a leash, as deer, badgers, hares, and roe deer are present on the property.
The nearest shop is 15 minutes away. Kragerø centre is about 30 minutes by car, and Porsgrunn about 40 minutes north. From Kragerø you can take the ferry to Jomfruland, a national park island with beaches and farms. The Telemark Canal, running 105 km from Skien to Dalen, can be explored by ferry, canoe, or kayak.
