I read the reviews before coming here and so we were not disappointed, we got what we expected. I would sum it up as you get what you pay for. We paid a really low amount and so I shouldn’t have really high expectations. I would say it used to be really nice when it was new, but they’ve let it go. The rooms are nice enough and comfortable but there are non functional carnival type things that are an eye sore unless they are going for the haunted vibe (an old Ferris wheel and a bumper car area and an ice cream store are just sitting there rusting and unused). The trolley pick up system is good though with all the hills. Beach is close and maybe because it was low season it was really quiet which we loved. Very family friendly so we didn’t have to worry about our 3 kids ruining someone’s honeymoon. Food was ok, nothing to rave about but I found something I liked every day. Was happy with the bar. Staff were friendly. They had a pack and play we were able to use. I messaged through Expedia and got no response. If you want to reach them I would use WhatsApp. The view I will say is gorgeous, what a wonderful location. The 2 infinity pools are nice and we would spend all day there. The kids pool was in need of repair and the hot tub did not work. Gym was pretty nice, had a decent amount of equipment for a resort. Overall, we made the most of it and got what we were expecting.

The resort is old and run down, the outdoor furniture is falling apart as are the roofs. There’s a lack of lounge chairs. The website misrepresents the resort. There are no activities except for kayaking. Hiking wasn’t available as the trails weren’t maintained. No wifi available except at the reception. Only the buffet restaurant is available. The buffet food is mediocre at best. 2 bars are available including the swim up bar. 4 small pools including 2 infinity pools. Everything shuts down at 10pm. The rooms are a good size, the washroom was missing shelving and towel racks. Two mugs in the room with no coffee maker or kettle?! On the positive side, the views are stunning, the resort shuttle is reliable and runs every 5 minutes. The beach is a 5min walk. The staff (bartenders, front desk, drivers and waiters) are all very friendly, feels like the resort had its day quite a few years ago, but wouldn’t take too much to get it back up to par with the rest of the available choices out there.

Condovac is a laid back resort with minimal amenities. Small pool with limited chaise or chairs available. Food was plentiful, Costa Rican type menu. Caters to locals. Les piscines et la plage sont parfaites! La vue est imprenable. Restaurant ça fait dure en titi ! Pour notre part les manèges n’était ps ouvert alors assez décevant à ce niveau. Élément assez important pas de wifi dans les chambres.

Place is in a great location but the resort itself is a bit neglected.shame of it is workers doing there job but it seems owner/management aren’t giving them the tools to be successful.example the chairs around the pool are so worn and old there falling apart.plus they didn’t have enough chairs for the amount of people around the pool area.the place could use something simple as a paint job would go a long way.

The property location is great. However, the facilities are dated. No phone, no wifi or hot water in rooms. Moving from room to main facilities requires a hike uphill or a shuttle service which is spotty. The staff smile and tell you that the rooms are not ready even past the check in time. All inclusive food is sub par and repetitive. Free drinks are good but watered down. Ice cream parlor is more like a hole in the wall with ice cream scooped out of buckets. Pizzeria wait times are ridiculous and the pizza is overly cheesy without much flavor. The 3 restaurants on property are good, especially Colibri. However the reservation system is unnecessarily complicated. The bumper cars can give you a concussion. Kids be warned. Only two work at a time. The pools are nice. The rooms were not kept well. There was black mold in the shower, i found spiders on the bed and the entire space smelled of mildew. This property is not well kept. Also, they did not help with the bags at reception. The place was so bad, we did not even stay the night. I had to book at another hotel. When i went to return our keys, the staff member did not ask any questions, just took the keys.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the room was not clean. The sheets on the bed were visibly stained, which is completely unacceptable for any hospitality establishment. We immediately contacted the front desk to report the issue. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for anyone to respond and arrive at the room. When housekeeping finally arrived, we were dismayed to find that one of the replacement sheets was also dirty and stained. At that point, our confidence in the cleanliness standards of the property was further diminished. We are still waiting for clean sheets and pillowcases, as the replacements provided were insufficient and unsanitary. After a long flight, we expected a smooth check-in process and a clean, comfortable room where we could rest and relax. Instead, our experience has been marked by delays, poor communication, and a level of cleanliness that falls far below acceptable standards. Customer service has been extremely slow to respond, and the overall handling of this situation has been disappointing. The food offerings are meager, the bartenders put sour mix in everything even when it’s not in the recipe. The free transfer to and from the airport is non existent and we were told they need 48 hours before arrival. Which is ok but then they didn’t want to drive us back to the airport even though they had more than 48 hours notice for that. Las vistas son hermosas. Las habitaciones estan bien y el AC funciona perfecto. El agua caliente de la ducha no funcionaba siempre. Esos son los únicos dos aspectos que se pueden rescatar de este hotel. Las zonas comunes estan descuidadas y es visible que necesitan remodelación. El restaurante domde sirven el desayuno, almuerzo y cena es poco agradable, se ve sucio, no ha sido pintado en mucho tiempo. El restaurante no cuenta con el equipamiento básico para servir comidas estilo buffet. Es decir no hay fuente de bebidas, ni tampoco un lugar adecuado para presentar las comidas. Sirven las comidas de manera improvisada en un buffet móvil que se usaria para una fiesta. Se nota desordenado y la comida se ve mal presentada. En el area de la piscina no hay sillas ni para un cincuenta por ciento de los huespedes hospedados. En la playa tampoco hay suficientes sillas, quizas habían 20 ó 30 sillas. El día que llegamos no habían paños de piscina y la respuesta de los encargados con risa burlona fue "estamos llenos y los paños no alcanzan" Fui a la recepción y los empleados pudieron conseguir. Por cierto los empleados de la recepción son los únicos amables, el resto del personal no es amable, se les nota desmotivados y haciendo su trabajo de mala gana. Parece que el hotel no tiene claro su concepto y objetivos. Necesitan una administración que lidere a sus empleados y mejore las instalaciones urgentemente.

The views were absolutely amazing, and the staff was kind and helpful throughout our stay. However, the property itself is quite run down and could really benefit from some maintenance and general upkeep. One issue we noticed was trash left near the pool area, which could easily attract ants and other pests. With a little more attention to cleanliness and care, this place could be truly great.

DO NOT STAY HERE - instead stay at the amazing hotel down the road (hotel.bosque del mar). I wish I did not have to write this review as I only ever like to submit positive reviews or say nothing at all. However, I need to warn others so they do not have the same terrible experience that we did. My husband and 3 young children left within an hour of checking in here due to the unsanitary conditions of our room and the surrounding outside areas (garbage everywhere, dirty tissues in our room, hair in the shower, etc). We were just going to ask to switch rooms but the dining area was also extremely disappointing with barely any food options and excessive flies everywhere. We could have managed with the extremely steep hike up the hill from our room to the pool (even with a double stroller and 3 kids under 5) and also could have overlooked that the kid amenities listed on the website were non existent, but the dirtiness was where we drew the line. We immediately and discretely told the host that we would be securing alternate accommodations and requesting a refund. We made sure this was discussed privately as not to impact other guests. However, all of our attempts to communicate regarding the refund were ignored. The manager is now refusing to provide any type of refund. We HIGHLY recommend that you do not stay here and instead stay at Hotel Bosque Del Mar just down the road which was absolutely amazing (cleanliness, staff and amenities were all terrific) and the same price.

The property was beautiful however there is only Wi-Fi in the main lobby and not in the rooms. Parking is also a bit inconvenient because it’s so far from the rooms. A lot of people had to walk up a very steep hill to get to the main lobby where all the food and the pools were. overall it was a good stay.

Key issues: • No in-room WiFi – Only available in the outdoor, non-air-conditioned common area (also the restaurant). My husband and I visited Costa Rica for the first time and stayed at Condovac La Costa. This place had the most stunning views, the friendliest staff, and access to amazing adventures. The rooms are a bit dated, however, the bed was perfect and the room was clean and cool. If your plan is to stay in a room, this ain’t it. If your plan is to immerse yourself in adventure and local community, be surrounded by beautiful sites and enjoy a breathtaking experience, I’d highly recommend. You’ll basically have a person onsite that can connect you to all things. Our guy was Inaki and he literally made himself available for all of our excursion needs. Great location. Shuttles were convenient. Rooms are a bit dated - had trouble with our shower and fridge during our stay. Overall staff was friendly and nightly entertainment was a nice surprise. Food wasn’t great, even in one of the reservation restaurants within the property. Pools were nice, though a heated jacuzzi would be better as it was colder than the pools. Views were awesome.

The property VERY steep a shuttle is always running It's older so don't expect la dee da decadence but has lots of character, good landscaping, gorgeous views, lovely staff and 5 different pools (two infinity) one which is a swim up bar. And not a hot tub but a cold tub (and you will need it sometimes) it's a very hot area and Costa Rica is known for its micro climates. If you opt for the lovers suite you can get breakfast in bed and have access to multiple restaurants that you need to reserve via WhatsApp. And some places are only open on certain days as well. (one of which is beach side) speaking of wifi I could only get it to work at the main restaurant and spotty in my room. Maybe opt for a $30 e sim card like my girlfriend did she had no issues. There can be a language barrier with some staff but there is always someone around with pretty good English to translate and all the staff do try thier best. Food is very authentic. Water is clean and safe for drinking. At first we thought that we didn't get a lot of options but we found out throughout the week that that's Costa Rica and they seem to eat a lot of the same stuff. Not too worry the food was still quite tasty but you may want to venture off the resort to one of the surrounding restaurants for something else. There is also a great pizza place a bit inside the town. I loved the scenery, from the hills, beautiful ocean view, walking distance to the beach, beautiful ocean view from the pools. The property needs renovations and updating. Looks old. Ac unit needed repairs in my room. Hot water wasn't working. Food was good. Snacks were ok. Wifi only worked by the lobby and sometimes in the main dining area.

This hotel is great. All inclusive is awesome and the views are breathtaking. The staff is wonderful. The food is great. There is a big hill from the main lobby, pools, and food down to the rooms and the beach itself but there is a little shuttle that circles around to the stops every 5-10 minutes. The beach is accessible by foot. The only drawback is that there is no WiFi in the rooms themselves. The WiFi is only available in the common areas (front desk/pools/food) Otherwise it’s a very comfortable place to spend a few days.

The room has a fridge and kitchen, you can get your own food and bring it to the resort. The check-in process was slow and painful. The entire staff at this hotel was courteous and welcoming. Throughout your stay at the hotel, they assist you with all of your needs. This hotel has breathtaking views. Although the hotel may use some renovations, we had a wonderful time overall. In addition, the on-site restaurant offers excellent meal service. The beach is within walking distance, and the shuttle service is excellent. I definitely recommend.

Pésimo. Desde la llegada el personal de recepción te trata súper mal. Me asaltaron y fui a pedir auxilio a recepción y me negaron ayuda, me trataron mal, un tipo me gritaba y me faltaba el respeto en reiteradas ocasiones, le dije que lo iba a grabar y fue peor, hasta levantaron un acta en mi contra. Llame al 911 en 3 ocasiones y la ayuda nunca llegó a mi, les decían que dentro del hotel todo estaba bien, siendo mentira. Deje el hotel y me fui para San José y casualmente, 3 horas después apareció parte de lo robado y lo más importante que era el teléfono celular de mi esposa, casual y beneficiosamente apareció en el parqueo. Me devolví a buscarlo y me obligaron a firmar un documento y no me dieron copia ni foto. Fue una pésima y horrible experiencia. Terminé gastando el doble porque tuve que quedarme en Liberia. No recomiendo para nada ese lugar, el personal es lo peor y te tratan como una basura.

Terrible experience! I would not stay here again even if offered for free. The property manager Alejandro is extremely rude. He does not desrve to be in the hospitality business. Our group enjoyed the property very much. The hill was a challenge but used the shuttle. Wait time most of time was very short. We did enjoy Oscar in the dining area. Took care of us more than expected and helped us line up the speciality restaurants. Also Randall lined up tours for us and did excellent and so easy to work with. Very convenient right at resort. We could not have asked for a better vacation

We were disappointed with the staff. The front desk staff needs improvement. The staff was rude and unwilling to help, always on the cell phone ignoring the customers. The restaurant needed better options of food. Same meals every day. The room was cleaned every day, which was nice, air conditioned helped a lot. Alcohol options, beer from a 40oz pour on a glass, flat most of the time and only one kind. I wouldn’t stay there again.

This resort was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted the authentic Costa Rican experience and we definitely got it here. This was not a luxury hotel, but that is not what we were looking for. What we loved: the pools, the views, the friendly and very hardworking staff, easy check in and check out, the beach, the excursions we booked, the gorgeous views, the drinks, typical home cooked style Costa Rican food (breakfast was the best), pizza, hot showers, cold ac, great WiFi in common areas, wild life, shuttle, friendly atmosphere, music, soccer tournament, convenient suite layout (for a family of 5), fast bartenders, food was always hot and coming out fresh, house keeping did a nice job, comfy beds What needs improvement: roof leaked when it rained very hard, signs letting us know which restaurants are open, more variety for dinner service, better WiFi in the rooms, kids were disappointed there was no foam party, music on the kids rides, maintain nature walking trail, signs letting you know what the evening entertainment will be, add more shuttles Overall it was a great trip and we would definitely return! Pura Vida!
This resort was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted the authentic Costa Rican experience and we definitely got it here. This was not a luxury hotel, but that is not what we were looking for. What we loved: the pools, the views, the friendly and very hardworking staff, easy check in and check out, the beach, the excursions we booked, the gorgeous views, the drinks, typical home cooked style Costa Rican food (breakfast was the best), pizza, hot showers, cold ac, great WiFi in common areas, wild life, shuttle, friendly atmosphere, music, soccer tournament, convenient suite layout (for a family of 5), fast bartenders, food was always hot and coming out fresh, house keeping did a nice job, comfy beds What needs improvement: roof leaked when it rained very hard, signs letting us know which restaurants are open, more variety for dinner service, better WiFi in the rooms, kids were disappointed there was no foam party, music on the kids rides, maintain nature walking trail, signs letting you know what the evening entertainment will be, add more shuttles Overall it was a great trip and we would definitely return! The property was beautiful however there is only Wi-Fi in the main lobby and not in the rooms. Parking is also a bit inconvenient because it’s so far from the rooms. A lot of people had to walk up a very steep hill to get to the main lobby where all the food and the pools were. overall it was a good stay.

Condovac is a laid back resort with minimal amenities. Small pool with limited chaise or chairs available. Food was plentiful, Costa Rican type menu. Caters to locals. Condovac was a lovely all inclusive place to stay. The beach is super close and the pool areas were beau and well maintained. While the resort is showing some wear, the grounds are very well maintained, shuttle around the resort frequent, food good and the staff very helpful. We were able to make our tour arrangements on the resort which included transportation and its location was, for us, the perfect spot to relax and to connect to the many amazing things to do in Costa Rica. Thanks to Eve there for making our first time in CR amazing. Unique yours was fantastic too!

This hotel is great. All inclusive is awesome and the views are breathtaking. The staff is wonderful. The food is great. There is a big hill from the main lobby, pools, and food down to the rooms and the beach itself but there is a little shuttle that circles around to the stops every 5-10 minutes. The beach is accessible by foot. The only drawback is that there is no WiFi in the rooms themselves. The WiFi is only available in the common areas (front desk/pools/food) Otherwise it’s a very comfortable place to spend a few days.

Because this property is on a hill you have the advantage of easy access to one of the top ten beaches in the area, but also a stunning view of the bay from the restaurant and pool area. Although the hill from the beach to the restaurant area is a bit of a climb you can always choose to take a frequent shuttle instead of walking it. We enjoyed the exercise!

The view was a 10. The shuttle was great throughout the property as it has very steep hills. The beach was awesome as well as the pools. The food was a 2. The room was really nice, but the food was awful. If you stay here, I definitely recommend not getting the all inclusive option. The room has a fridge and kitchen, you can get your own food and bring it to the resort. The check-in process was slow and painful. It took over an hour to check in even though there was only one person in front of us. The airport transport is misleading. It's only free to get to the resort. You have to arrange your own transportation to go to the airport. It cost us over $60. The check-in attendant chuckled under his breath when I was confused, like this happens all the time with other guests. I would avoid and go somewhere else. Not worth the price.

Looks like a very old hotel, low level of maintenance, outdated facilities. The food is very basic and the variety is limited. On the other hand, the staff are nice, friendly and try very hard to help but the hotel itself is disappointing. Bad value for money.

Overall the place is nice, clean, very helpful and nice staff. The only downside is that only their buffet is the only options they have. Unfortunately all their ala carte restaurants are closed. So the "all inclusive" isn't really all inclusive as you do not have options where to eat.

Long walk up a steep hill just to get to the food provided. Staff was not overly friendly, felt like I was a part of a cattle call. Didn't realize that the part we booked was at the lower-end of the facilities. Food was awful and not worth the walk uphill!

The view and pool area was great and a nice beach. More dry/desert like than the pictures show though. I never complain about food and drinks but this really was the worst I’ve ever had. 1 very limited buffet. The restaurant wasn’t open our first two nights and finally was open our third night. We were seated and told it was also a buffet. It was a tiny buffet with desert from that days lunch in the other buffet. The drinks were very limited as well.

The property is beautiful, but I would steer clear of the all inclusive and have your meals at the nice restaurants on the beach because the food is not great. The specialty seafood restaurant is ok, but despite having paid for all inclusive we ended up having our meals at the restaurants on the beach (close walk). The food there is phenomenal. The staff however are amazing and friendly. Of special mention are Lewis and Fernanda and Oscar. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Also, when booking excursions, make sure to visit Javier at the concierge desk by the beach. He was also super helpful and friendly and set us up on some amazing outings.

We absolutely loved Condovac the property was beautiful with an excellent view. It was my husband & my honeymoon & they made it very special for us. Our view from our room was spectacular. We did come to this all-inclusive with low expectations due to some of the bad reviews, but it absolutely surpassed our expectations. Because the low price we spent extra money to eat dinners at other restaurants along the beach for dinner. But our breakfasts & lunches were wonderful at the Condovac. The whole resort was almost empty & we basically had the pools all to ourselves!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wait staff at 1 restaurant were very nice. There are no clean bath towels. You are to use the 2 towels that the decorative swan is made out of. When we undid them, they were very old towels with stains. My car towels look better than this. Front desk said only option was to give us pool towels. They looked better in blue but stunk. Room is bare bones needs a paint job as walls are chipping. Shower has no door and there is a large jetted tub that consumes the bathroom. Waste of space. The view from the property is pretty. Limited WiFi. Only works at restaurants.

The whole staff was amazing, the view was incredible. They had good hours on the pool and bars and restaurant. The truck shuttle did a great job and hotel was beautiful. Only negative I can say and it didnt bother me, was some buildings and walls needed some tlc and repairs, but I will come back.
