Beautiful garden and room. The room was a good size with a large, comfy bed, great shower and fresh milk for tea and coffee. We ate dinner there, having established that there were options for a vegetarian who was also coeliac. I had a vegan but not GF wellington, which was lovely. Breakfast was also excellent, with a coeliac-friendly omelette with GF toast. It was all delicious, so thank you Ellerby Inn! The website said EV charging was available. We enquired at check-in and they said we could plug in our granny cable for a slow overnight charge. We didn't have it with us, but it would have been a great option if we did. The staff were welcoming, friendly and caring. We hope to stay again sometime.

A warm welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Every member of staff was friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The bar area is comfortable and cosy and the food great. Will definitely return.

A real gem and dog friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. Lovely room with an enormous bed, well fitted ensuite shower room. Excellent evening meal with a good choice if drinks available. Breakfast was great and our spaniel loved the sausage that they gave to her. In short thoroughly recommended and we will definitely go back.

We stayed for 2 nights midweek to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely, clean and friendly with welcoming staff. The breakfast is very good and the 2 evening meals we had were excellent. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with a huge comfy bed, tea/coffee making and lovely biscuits. The bathroom was immaculate with good quality towels and toiletries. We will definitely return.

We had two nights at this hotel based on the excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. Everything was exemplary. The room was spacious with probably the most comfortable bed we've slept in for ages. The food was equally good: nothing too fancy but perfectly cooked and piping hot. The same goes for breakfast. And if you like your beer, the Timothy Taylors Landlord was perfectly stored and served. The location is superb - easy driving distance from Saltburn down to Whitby and beyond. If you prefer, you can leave the car and travel by bus with regular buses going along the coast. Service by every single staff member was excellent - smiling, helpful and engaging. We hope to return again and highly recommend this lovely inn.

The staff are super friendly, helpful and really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Our evening meal by the cosy fireplace was absolutely faultless - proper home cooked comfort food, and the breakfast equally as good too. Wish we could have stayed longer - highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

Stopped for a night while walking the Cleveland Way with a friend and couldn't fault the property or service! The location is and property are beautiful, and from the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive and went out of their way to help with a breakfast complication (caused by our walk planning rather than the property). Particularly fond of the little garden just outside the rooms! Excellent place - would definitely stay again under more relaxed circumstances!

We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Hotel isn't 5 star luxury, but it was certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. We loved it and can highly recommend.
We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Hotel isn't 5 star luxury, but it was certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. We loved it and can highly recommend.

Our 3rd stay at the property. The staff will always go the extra mile. The rooms are lovely and stocked with the little extras that make you feel welcome. The food and the service is excellent and good value. My only gripe is the the amount of dog faeces in the garden. Two of our party managed to get some underfoot. Next day it had been covered over with sand, not sure that was the best course of action!

The location was lovely. Staff and food excellent. Only problem was our noisy bedroom. We could hear toilets, showers, doors closing etc etc in both rooms adjacent to ours so we were woken early every morning.

We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Hotel isn't 5 star luxury, but it was certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. We loved it and can highly recommend.
We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Excellent stay. Staff were lovely from the moment I arrived and couldn’t do enough. Room was large and clean and conservatory to watch tv was nice. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. Definitely stay again.

We had two nights at this hotel based on the excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. Everything was exemplary. The room was spacious with probably the most comfortable bed we've slept in for ages. The food was equally good: nothing too fancy but perfectly cooked and piping hot. The same goes for breakfast. And if you like your beer, the Timothy Taylors Landlord was perfectly stored and served. The location is superb - easy driving distance from Saltburn down to Whitby and beyond. If you prefer, you can leave the car and travel by bus with regular buses going along the coast. Service by every single staff member was excellent - smiling, helpful and engaging. We hope to return again and highly recommend this lovely inn.

An absolute little gem of a place - our dog friendly room (No. 7) was really lovely - very homely and immaculately clean. The staff are super friendly, helpful and really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Our evening meal by the cosy fireplace was absolutely faultless - proper home cooked comfort food, and the breakfast equally as good too. Wish we could have stayed longer - highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

Stopped for a night while walking the Cleveland Way with a friend and couldn't fault the property or service! The location is and property are beautiful, and from the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive and went out of their way to help with a breakfast complication (caused by our walk planning rather than the property). Particularly fond of the little garden just outside the rooms! Excellent place - would definitely stay again under more relaxed circumstances!

The location was lovely. Staff and food excellent. Only problem was our noisy bedroom. We could hear toilets, showers, doors closing etc etc in both rooms adjacent to ours so we were woken early every morning.

Beautiful garden and room. The room was a good size with a large, comfy bed, great shower and fresh milk for tea and coffee. We ate dinner there, having established that there were options for a vegetarian who was also coeliac. I had a vegan but not GF wellington, which was lovely. Breakfast was also excellent, with a coeliac-friendly omelette with GF toast. It was all delicious, so thank you Ellerby Inn! The website said EV charging was available. We enquired at check-in and they said we could plug in our granny cable for a slow overnight charge. We didn't have it with us, but it would have been a great option if we did. The staff were welcoming, friendly and caring. We hope to stay again sometime.

A real gem and dog friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. Lovely room with an enormous bed, well fitted ensuite shower room. Excellent evening meal with a good choice if drinks available. Breakfast was great and our spaniel loved the sausage that they gave to her. In short thoroughly recommended and we will definitely go back.

We stayed for 2 nights midweek to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely, clean and friendly with welcoming staff. The breakfast is very good and the 2 evening meals we had were excellent. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with a huge comfy bed, tea/coffee making and lovely biscuits. The bathroom was immaculate with good quality towels and toiletries. We will definitely return.

An absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel. Exceptional staff in every area that we interacted with them. Excellent food. Superb breakfast & a very appealing, varied menu for other times of the day (lunch & dinner). Comfortable, functional room with pleasantly powerful shower. Wouldn’t hesitate in returning to Ellerby Country Hotel.

The staff might just be the friendliest in Great Britain. It made the stay a delight and we used the great conservatory space to watch a Christmas movie with our little one. Great food and great beer/wine. You need a car to access all the local things (Runswick Bay/Whitby/Scarborough/Moors) but we will come back each year as we love it.
