We only had one overnight stay but i probably wouldnt look to go back. Due to the age of the property, there is no air con installed which meant our room was incredibly hot. The facilities could be much improved if someone put a bit of thought into it. The outside seating area could be really pretty if there was more lighting but instead its quite dark snd nearly every chair we tried to sit on was broken - wooden furniture needs some tlc. Reception staff are not very chatty. On checking out the next morning, I knew I would be receiving a £30 refund but was informed the system wasnt working so i would have to wait for this to go through when it was up and running. Overall, i'd give this property 3/5, which is a shame as if the people running it put in a bit of thought and effort, it could be beautiful.

lovely old Manor House set in gorgeous well kept grounds. Be aware there is no lift and a lot of stairs, not an issue for us. Room was quiet, clean, warm and comfortable. Never found the hairdryer but no big deal. We didn’t eat there so can comment on food and service in the restaurant.

Nice room, bed was too soft for us. convenient for north London. Close to M1 and M25. plenty of parking. good staff particularly in bar/dining room. Need a car as away from local shops. Great breakfast and good for events in beautiful grounds.

I stayed for 1 night for business and it was a very comfortable stay. The room was nice and quiet and staff were helpful and polite. The hotel has a gym, but it's in need of an update with some of the machines not working and various weights missing from the collection. It also lacks a water machine. The food was great, yet very overpriced - £15 for breakfast and £20+ for dinner (£5 for a side of chips).

Beautiful and historical manor, on a very nice and green property. The area is quiet and slightly outside the city chaos! The breakfast and the Christmas decorations were truly a highlight for us. Jo, at the reception, made sure everything was perfect. Parking was super convenient, but driving in London can be challenging so we took the public transport, which was a 5-min cab ride (6£) 20-min train OR a 10-min walk 5-min bus 20-min train. Highly recommend!

When checking in, they gave me a keycard that didn’t work. Went back to reception to have it fixed, went back to the room to find out it’s occupied. Now I’m going back to the reception a 2nd time to get another room. This time the keycard worked and the room was not occupied. Adding on top of this, I was already tired from a day of traveling and moving around. I had to lug my baggage around a couple of times at the hotel just to get a room. The hallways to your room is dark until you walk through and it lights up. If you get scared easy by creepy vibes, I would avoid this place. Parking is not guaranteed since they host events so the parking area can be filled up but will open up by evening time. I want to like this place but I just can’t.

We arrived early and the woman who greeted us was friendly,there was a £10 an hour charge for early checkin so she brought us to the bar to get a cup of tea.We also had lunch there which was quite nice.We were going to a show that afternoon so were barely in our room before leaving again.We returned around 9pm to have a drink in the bar,waited a while to order&pay as staff were scarce,even on reception.Upon returning to our room my Mum noticed the door to our balcony not only didn't lock,but wouldn't even close properly.This not only felt unsafe as we were on the ground floor,but also uncomfortable as it was a windy night&it kept blowing open.We also noticed a large cluster of insects at the top of the curtain by the door.As it was late&we were in our pyjamas,there was no phone in the room to call reception&it was hard enough to find a staff member in the 1st place,i ended up pushing the couch against the door to keep it closed for the night.Upon checkout the next morning the man on reception didnt even ask how our stay was,I informed him of the issues&he thanked us for telling him but didnt offer any apology or compensation.Could otherwise be a nice hotel but we were disappointed by lack of attention to security and cleanliness and attitude of staff

One of the worst hotel stays I've experienced. I requested a ground floor room near the lobby, expecting the ground floor to be on the reception level, but instead I was given a room about as far away from reception as possible down several flights of stairs from reception. I noticed the stained carpet at the entrance to the bathroom immediately, but I was too tired from a really long day, to make the trek all the way back to reception with heavy bags at such a late hour, so resolved to just avoid stepping onto the mouldy carpet with bare feet. The room smelt musty, and on investigation discovered the large stain near the radiator, which was largely concealed by a chair. The room felt dirty overall, including blood stain on the desk chair, dirty bathroom (I has to remove several hairs from the bathroom floor and bath myself). The bed was comfy, which was the only saving grace. In the morning I rang through to reception several times for assistance with getting my heavy bags back up the several flights of stairs to reception, but the phone rang out every time unanswered, so was left to struggle alone. breakfast was fine but expensive at £18 and the overall price for the room selected (£140) was extortionate for the quality. I reported to reception how disgusted I was with the room and questioned why the guy hadn't answered the phone (which he apparently didn't hear, despite sitting right next to it), but no apology or offer of anything.Will never stay there again.

Room was clean, bed comfortable, shower good, dated though. Mirror in the bathroom was dilapidated round the shed and the toilet seat, while functional, just wasn’t made for that toilet. WiFi in the room was shocking. Trying to watch Netflix was a waste of time as kept buffering. Staff were lovely overall. I stayed 15 years ago when it was called the Edgewarebury and it hasn’t changed a bit. Breakfast great and restaurant good but not a lot of choice.

Room was very comfortable and relaxing. Few unfortunate things which was the fault of the house keeping. No towels in our bathroom. Bin in bathroom hadn’t been emptied, a very unpleasant item had been left in there. Coffee machine had no coffee pods which reception supplied us with but coffee machine wasn’t working. Have to add reception staff were excellent and helpful.

The fan was broken in the bathroom, there was black spot mould on the ceiling & on the back of the door. Our Mattress was awful, well over due for replacement. The carpet in the room was marked and looked like it needed a deep clean. Despite this the staff were polite & friendly & the Breakfast top draw.

Very discreet property, lovely receptionist. Amazing parking availability. Huge room. Very comfortable bed. Bed so comfortable, great size. Small fridge in room which is great added touch. Great size bathroom and facilities for bath and shower. Would absolutely recommend. Didn’t choose breakfast so cannot comment on that, however will DEFINITELY rebook. Genuinely the best time.

Room was very cold. 8C outside and the hotel heating was not on. View from the window was bins, downstairs room and one of the windows could not be locked. The Manor House is lovely but the rooms are a 1960/70 block and quite dated with old furniture, veneer peeling off, varnish on desk peeling off. Needs some renovation.

Staff are in the wrong industry. Not very welcoming (apart from the lady organising breakfast) front desk was a process without a smile or welcome. As was check out. Poor lady at the bar was rushed off her feet and just couldn’t cope. Facilities are ok but came out thinking even a travelodge would have been more satisfying

Nice hotel. Room clean, bed comfortable, nice bath and shower. Only real issue was the curtains let a lot of light in which meant an unplanned early morning wake up.

I had high hopes for the hotel when we arrived - the impressive manor and charming, cosy communal areas are very atmospheric. Unfortunately the rooms let it down - they are in an annex separate from the manor itself and are small, tired and over-priced. That said the bed was comfortable and the staff nice. Set expectations accordingly.

I would love to say I would visit again, but I’m unsure if I would based on the lack of attentiveness from staff and paying for a room that looked nothing like what is displayed on the images, which I believe is very misleading The room I booked and paid for was the Deluxe Room, which boasts to have a Queen Bed, it was a double sized bed which was a little bit of a letdown and the size of room was small We requested an ice filled bucket through the QR code that’s placed in the room and nothing arrived, we tried using the phone in the room which didn’t have any dial tone, called the reception from my personal phone and the receptionist asked us if we had received anything, to which we replied no and I had asked politely again if we could get one sent up along with some glasses. Stayed overnight on a Saturday when visiting friends and family in the area. Location was very convenient for family in Radlett and was one of the cheaper hotels in the area. Reception was fairly friendly although we were surprised at a £30 deposit required against damage, not something we're used to at hotels. We had been emailed by the hotel to inform us there is no lift, but fortunately we're fit enough for the climb to the top floor for our room. This will be a real issue with any with mobility of fitness issues. Our room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable, although there were only two pillows. Bathroom was adequate although the toiletries provided were solid bars and I'm not convinced the shampoo and conditioner really worked. Breakfast the following morning was very poor indeed. None of the cooked food looked particularly appetising and continental breakfast meant toast (no rolls) and sliced cheese kept in the dairy chiller. Coffee from a flask, as the coffee machine only dispensed espresso, was very overcooked and barely drinkable. Did I complain, no as there seemed little point as what there was was already there. I was however concerned when I saw a member of staff restocking the bread basket with bare hands. Overall the hotel looks very tired and desperately in need of some upgrading and care. We certainly won't return.

We arrived early and the woman who greeted us was friendly,there was a £10 an hour charge for early checkin so she brought us to the bar to get a cup of tea.We also had lunch there which was quite nice.We were going to a show that afternoon so were barely in our room before leaving again.We returned around 9pm to have a drink in the bar,waited a while to order&pay as staff were scarce,even on reception.Upon returning to our room my Mum noticed the door to our balcony not only didn't lock,but wouldn't even close properly.This not only felt unsafe as we were on the ground floor,but also uncomfortable as it was a windy night&it kept blowing open.We also noticed a large cluster of insects at the top of the curtain by the door.As it was late&we were in our pyjamas,there was no phone in the room to call reception&it was hard enough to find a staff member in the 1st place,i ended up pushing the couch against the door to keep it closed for the night.Upon checkout the next morning the man on reception didnt even ask how our stay was,I informed him of the issues&he thanked us for telling him but didnt offer any apology or compensation.Could otherwise be a nice hotel but we were disappointed by lack of attention to security and cleanliness and attitude of staff

One of the worst hotel stays I've experienced. I requested a ground floor room near the lobby, expecting the ground floor to be on the reception level, but instead I was given a room about as far away from reception as possible down several flights of stairs from reception. I noticed the stained carpet at the entrance to the bathroom immediately, but I was too tired from a really long day, to make the trek all the way back to reception with heavy bags at such a late hour, so resolved to just avoid stepping onto the mouldy carpet with bare feet. The room smelt musty, and on investigation discovered the large stain near the radiator, which was largely concealed by a chair. The room felt dirty overall, including blood stain on the desk chair, dirty bathroom (I has to remove several hairs from the bathroom floor and bath myself). The bed was comfy, which was the only saving grace. In the morning I rang through to reception several times for assistance with getting my heavy bags back up the several flights of stairs to reception, but the phone rang out every time unanswered, so was left to struggle alone. breakfast was fine but expensive at £18 and the overall price for the room selected (£140) was extortionate for the quality. Staff are in the wrong industry. Not very welcoming (apart from the lady organising breakfast) front desk was a process without a smile or welcome. As was check out. Wonderful stay at the Manor Elstree. The receptionist was absolutely fantastic upon arrival. We were running late and had a small amount of time to get ready for our event. She took care of our taxi, ordered us room service and because of her extra efforts and professionalism, we arrived well in time for our event stress free. All the staff during breakfast were friendly and professional; we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.

I booked 2 room, for myself and a colleague from Pakistan and I called a week before the stay to check if there was any Halal food available at the restaurant. I was informed that "ALL the Chicken on the menu was Halal", so reserved a table in the restaurant. On ordering the food, the waitress checked with the kitchen and we were informed that the Chicken was NOT in fact Halal.... This was most concerning..... Overall, the room was in need of a make-over as it is looking tired and worn. The room temperature was very warm, so had to sleep with the window open, but this was noisy. Overall, not a great experience...

When checking in, they gave me a keycard that didn’t work. Went back to reception to have it fixed, went back to the room to find out it’s occupied. Now I’m going back to the reception a 2nd time to get another room. This time the keycard worked and the room was not occupied. Adding on top of this, I was already tired from a day of traveling and moving around. I had to lug my baggage around a couple of times at the hotel just to get a room. The hallways to your room is dark until you walk through and it lights up. If you get scared easy by creepy vibes, I would avoid this place. Parking is not guaranteed since they host events so the parking area can be filled up but will open up by evening time. I want to like this place but I just can’t.

We wanted a hotel just outside the ULEZ so we could travel in to London the following morning. The hotel is in a great setting, has character, pleasant staff and everything you need for a stop over. Would definitely book again.

Stayed here due to having a gig at Wembley, a short taxi journey to Stanmore Tube and the Jubilee line straight to Wembley Park. Check in was great, the lady on reception was really helpful, knowing we were going to Wembley she offered advise and gave taxi numbers as it could be busy when returning to Stanmore.

Room was clean, bed comfortable, shower good, dated though. Mirror in the bathroom was dilapidated round the shed and the toilet seat, while functional, just wasn’t made for that toilet. WiFi in the room was shocking. Trying to watch Netflix was a waste of time as kept buffering. Staff were lovely overall. I stayed 15 years ago when it was called the Edgewarebury and it hasn’t changed a bit. Breakfast great and restaurant good but not a lot of choice.

This lovely old manor has so many original features. The decoration is a little tired but does not detract from the lovely hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were all fantastic. The breakfast, though very tasty, was luke warm.

Breakfast was good. Didn't get chance to have evening meal as I was back late. Bed ok if you like a soft mattress (my preference is firm). I was out most of the time at a local event so didn't really spend a great deal of time at the hotel, but I would happily stay again.

The general experience was "could do better", like my school report. Value for money was reasonable, bar prices at the higher end for a mediocre pizza and drinks. The best part of our stay was the very warm and bubbly young lady, who served in the bar yesterday evening. I'd give her a job anyday.

Room was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. The main building was constructed in mid 1500's and is well preserved. We stayed in a more modern wing. All staff are friendly and welcoming, Joanna at reception is an outstanding asset for the hotel. Parking was easy, and internet was good. Breakfast was wonderful with offerings of a cooked as well as continental breakfast. I understand current owners are slowly updating the hotel however it is still well presented and maintained and a charming establishment. We would not hesitate to stay again if the opportunity arises

Lovely Hotel - beautiful decore and views. We were disappointed to hear that the restaurant had a limited menu in the evening. This didn’t bother us initially - but when we arrived for dinner - the only choice was beef, chicken or veggie Burger. This isn’t ‘limited’ we seriously would have thought scampi or ham egg and chips or some sort of curry could have been offered as an alternative. Jo did try her best to convince us that there would be a few things to choose from. She kindly offered to order us a pie from outside, but we really didn’t expect the menu to have no choice at all! We decided to go to a local pub which was recommended- not a pleaaant experience at all, the food was terrible! It did spoil our stay, Jo gave us a free breakfast but my husband was not well in the morning so we didn’t make it on time. it was a bit of a disaster for us to celebrate my retirement.

The manager, Jo, was brilliant. Although I was staying the night, my 6 friend were just having lunch. Knowing that we were film fans, Jo showed us the Piccadilly room which featured in A Clockwork Orange and allowed us to explore the public spaces which featured in The Devil Rides Out and Dracula. She then upgraded my booking so that I could stay in the Piccadilly room. Excellent customer service. I will certainly return.

This is our second visit and now likely to be our last. We checked in and we're allocated our preferred room. On arrival the air con wasn't working so went back to reception and asked for assistance. The receptionist said he'd ring the engineer. It was only that I went back to reception 3 hours later to ask again that I got an update. No it's been broken for a few days and needs an electrician. The receptionist said he wasn't aware it was broken. Offered a fan (there was already one in the room). It just felt no one really cared and a shrug of the shoulders and move on. The kettle on the room can't be filled from the tap as it's too big. The safe didn't work. There is no bedside light for one of the twin beds, but there is a plug socket to put one in. The service in the restaurant is so slow. No proactive thinking about cutlery. No lime and soda available and we said we'd think about ordering something else but waitress never asked again. Water jug leaks all over the table when you pour. Never asked how food was. Food itself was good both for dinner and breakfast. Beds and bedding are comfortable and good quality. Honestly we paid £125 for B&B and it's not worth the money. It needs a serious shift in service for me to return (unless there's no other option) next time we visit the hospital. And service is all about the leadership - there was definitely a lack of visibility on that front last night. I've already cancelled the next stay in September.

Unfortunately, not a wink of sleep due to the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had in a hotel, it was just awful, and very old (room 18) sank in the middle and could feel the springs.
