Eagle Wind Manor

Eagle Wind Manor provides charming and quaint accommodation in a gracious old house at the top of Botha’s Hill - convenient for both Hillcrest and Kearsney College. The beds were amazing - great mattresses and pillows, better than many top hotels I’ve stayed in. The room was cleaned and refreshed daily and the tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries were generous. The property is immaculately maintained by both gardening and household staff but it is not modern by any means and could do with a little updating, particularly the bathrooms, where water pressure in room 4 was very limited and the shower in room 2 also battled a little. We were a tad surprised to find that the garden had been hired out for a baby shower on our second day - it was a perfectly lovely event, but it would have been nice to have been warned! The check-in and check-out process was very simple and our hostess was delightful and efficient. We would definitely stay here again as it offers remarkably good value for money and excellent sleep quality.

My first 2 days were double booked so they moved me to another guest house, which was actually good but I had to go back to Eagle for breakfast!! On day 3 they put me in room 1. It was very large with a comfortable bed, however 1. The safe was broken 2. There was no plug in the bath. They said there was a water shortage. Eventually, the next day I got a plug. Their pool was "green" and unusable. The TV did not work. They changed it twice but I never got to see a program. When they finally said it was sorted when I clicked on a program a message came up saying rhe max number of users had been reached so I could not access it. I finally gave up. The young lady in charge of breakfast and my room was outstanding.

My preferred stay during business trips to our Durban office and as usual the reception and stay was excellent

Lovely bnb. Rooms are spacious and very nice. Power back-up for loadshedding. Nice breakfast.

Stay with an International Guest on a business trip to SA As a local the Manor was well received, but not up to standard for International Guests but overall the food and friendly hosts was great
