Great hotel and lovely staff. The bar and restaurant were fabulous for the evening, and there was a great breakfast option in the morning - really handy for my ongoing trip as Manchester Piccadilly Station was within 10 mins walking distance. Highly recommended.

Great spot on a great location of Manchester. Staff here were excellent always trying to help with recommendations. It is more like apartment style which is fun and different. They offer any amenities you need but won't bug you everyday for housekeeping. Had everything in the kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine which we didn't expect. Gym was another added luxury with new machines boxing equipment and other unique items for a cool different workout experience as well. Would definitely go back here next time we are in Manchester.

Beautiful, modern hotel with a very stylish bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was very well equipped and the bed was really comfortable. Location of the hotel was brilliant with a tesco over the road to grab snacks and lots of bars a restaurants in walking distance. Ncp carpark is just behind the hotel, and although it’s quite expensive to park there it’s worth it because it’s so convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

A very beautiful hotel, combining traditional architecture with modern elements, situated at the heart of the city. All the facilities required are available, the staff was very helpful. Please note, there is no air condition in the rooms.

The design of the place is excellent, a very 90s/00s feel. Sadly some of the technology is also from that era. TVs aren't very smart and keep locking up, wifi is mediocre there's no air conditioning. I tried opening the window, they were doubled with the outer window sealed close and filthy on top, needed to deep wash my hands after trying to open. I would visit again, but only in the colder months.

Everything about the whitworth was amazing. It’s central to local transport, restaurants and cafes, and a bunch of sights (if you’re looking for things to do). They helped me get my luggage after it was delayed by the airport. Super clean, wonderful staff and restaurant, and they even secured our bags during the day until our next evening flight. Will be my go to when I travel to Manchester.

Very small living space, and while the kitchen was new and glossy it was black and very hard to see and use easily. Needed the torch to see the functions of appliances. Designer items placed in the small room which meant even less usable space. Yoga mat provided but no floor space to put it down. Lift was out of action for the duration of our stay and the restaurant was closed.

ONLY caveat is the parking situation. What you save on the room will cost you in the parking lot you have to pay for around the corner. DO NOT park at the parking lot listed here on Expedia. It is an uphill hike for a couple blocks. There is a NCP parking lot right around the corner. It's a little pricier, but it saves you the hike to the hotel. The apartment rooms are wonderful. It was nice to be able cook in the room and to bring back leftovers from O'Sheas which has great pub food one block away.

A bad experience. Our room smelled of drains when we arrived. We got moved…to a delightful room overlooking a car park where there was still a drain smell, although thankfully less bad. Bed was uncomfortable, the apartment not very well provisioned. I’m not sure who this Locke proposition is aimed at, but for a comfortable stay at this price point there are better options.

I paid for a two night stay at Whitworth Locke and was really disappointed with the overall experience. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, there was dust throughout, and several of the kitchen utensils were dirty. The shower flooded every time it was used, and the room itself was cold, poorly lit, and extremely noisy due to thin walls and constant street noise. On arrival, the TV didn’t work and required multiple maintenance visits before it was usable. The WiFi also didn’t work at all during our entire stay. Despite being there for two nights, housekeeping never came. No fresh towels, no replacement toilet paper, nothing. For the price, the stay fell far short of the standard I expected. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Great hotel in an excellent location close to the town center. Appartment was clean and although the decorations were pretty basic it seemed modern and was comfortable. Appartment was spacious with all the facilities you would expect. No TV in bedroom only in sitting room area which wasn't really a problem but similar appartments often have a TV in both. Wi-Fi was not very good despite being advertised as excellent but I had a 5G signal on my phone which worked fine whilst I was working from my room. Facilities downstairs were good with decent food in the Cafe. Staff were pleasant and helpfull. Definately recommend a stay here.

The apartment was really nice and spacious, a bonus was the large electric fan in the lounge area. The major downfall of this apartment and the reason I would never stay here again is the lighting in the apartment, I have never stayed in a hotel with such dark and dingy lighting. was horrendous, any period of time spent in the room makes you feel like you are staying in a medieval castle. The hotel, room, staff, facilities are excellent but the poor lighting lets the hotel down.

Its a lovely place but on this occasion I felt let down by the details. No info on how hob or oven worked. Kitchen area badly lit and not helped having black featureless kichen cupboards. Lighting generally poor.

Really friendly at reception, room was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. Parking next door at the NCP car park was very secure, 1 minute walk away, £22 for 24 hours paid via the app which isn’t too bad for a city and the convenience. Only negative is the room layout meant you couldn’t watch TV from the bed as it was in a separate living area and hard to see from the sofa due to size and distance (we stayed in a studio). Great hotel for location and everything else though.

A very bare bones hotel with minimal amenities, no air conditioning, and very bad lighting, which was disappointing for the price. Area is super convenient, but also very loud overnight and in morning due to proximity to Gay Village (partying). Staff were really friendly though.

Great property and location. Noise from nearby clubs stop at 11pm. Only mark down was that the way the shower is built it floods the entire bathroom floor which was a bit annoying. Staff were attentive and super helpful too.

This was my third time staying here, and I was disappointed. I stayed during Manc Pride. The room, whilst clean, wasn’t to the standard I’d previously experienced. One of the lights flashed when it was on, the Kitchenette didn’t have a dishwasher (for a room designed for four adults), the shower screen didn’t close properly, and the bathroom was extremely small. The staff were lovely with the exception a security guard one night who refused to believe that a same-sex couple could be sharing a room. He ask very abruptly “you’re in the same room?! I don’t believe you.” Staff had to intervene to sort the issue. This was my third time staying here, and I was disappointed. I stayed during Manc Pride. The room, whilst clean, wasn’t to the standard I’d previously experienced. One of the lights flashed when it was on, the Kitchenette didn’t have a dishwasher (for a room designed for four adults), the shower screen didn’t close properly, and the bathroom was extremely small. The staff were lovely with the exception a security guard one night who refused to believe that a same-sex couple could be sharing a room. He ask very abruptly “you’re in the same room?! I don’t believe you.” Staff had to intervene to sort the issue. The room issues were small and I wouldn’t let them put me off going back; however, for a queer-inclusive hotel, they need to sort the security out, especially at Pride!

Kirian at front desk/check-in was amazing. I had been awake, traveling for 32 hours, and was horribly rude and childish when told our room wouldnt be ready until 1730. He remained professional and courteous despite my ridiculous entitled behavior.

Overall stay has been great. Unfortunately, my check in experience wasn't smooth at all. Danz was very rude and I didn't appreciate her really negative attitude and behaviour towards me especially as I am a long standing and loyal customer. She didn't bother to listen to anything I was saying and charged my card when she shouldn't have. I was very disappointed with the way I was spoken to by Danz and this has left quite a bitter taste. I hope to never experience anything like this again particularly with Danz. Having said that, when I saw Nour later in the evening, as always he was so friendly and welcoming. He is such a great team member and I'm grateful that he was there when I came back. He listened to my complaint and was so understanding. Thanks to Nour for putting a smile on my face and making my stay more enjoyable.

Everything about the whitworth was amazing. It’s central to local transport, restaurants and cafes, and a bunch of sights (if you’re looking for things to do). They helped me get my luggage after it was delayed by the airport. Super clean, wonderful staff and restaurant, and they even secured our bags during the day until our next evening flight. Will be my go to when I travel to Manchester.

Beautiful, modern hotel with a very stylish bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was very well equipped and the bed was really comfortable. Location of the hotel was brilliant with a tesco over the road to grab snacks and lots of bars a restaurants in walking distance. Ncp carpark is just behind the hotel, and although it’s quite expensive to park there it’s worth it because it’s so convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

A very trendy, warm, cozy, comfortable aparthotel. Across from Canal Street. The staff are friendly and accommodating! There is a nice coffee shop on location, The Foundation Coffee, which has a delicious selection of breakfast/brunch food.

Great hotel and lovely staff. The bar and restaurant were fabulous for the evening, and there was a great breakfast option in the morning - really handy for my ongoing trip as Manchester Piccadilly Station was within 10 mins walking distance. Highly recommended.

Lovely place for the price, bit tired in places but overall good. Extractor fans in both our parties rooms did not work nor seemingly did the one in the Foundation coffee shop on site with a rather pungent smell of grease coming from the kitchen

Hannah and Erin on reception were excellent, very welcoming and lovely. Room was superb, very comfortable stay and lovely amenities. Great location and very easy to find. My only observation is that the back bar and the fridges looked very bare when sat at the bar. Made it feel like it was an afterthought - saying that, I would definitely stay there again and can't wait to try some of their other locations.

Very small living space, and while the kitchen was new and glossy it was black and very hard to see and use easily. Needed the torch to see the functions of appliances. Designer items placed in the small room which meant even less usable space. Yoga mat provided but no floor space to put it down. Lift was out of action for the duration of our stay and the restaurant was closed.

Häftig gammal byggnad men det gjorde nog att de har svårt att fixa bra ventilation. Det var jättevarmt och kvalmigt i rummet, badrummet kändes hela tiden fuktigt. Dålig ljudisolering ut till korridoren och till rummet ovanför. Inga barnstolar tillgängliga så det var svårt att äta i lägenheten med en 1-åring. Ligger lite utanför centrum, om jag skulle åka till Manchester igen skulle jag nog inte välja samma hotell kanske mest pga läget.

I had a really great stay at Whitworth Locke. The room itself was excellent, and the staff were nice and welcoming throughout the visit. My only critique is the lack of air conditioning and the tiny window. It meant the room got quite hot but there was a fan provided so we still had a comfortable sleep. Aside from the temperature issue, it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it.

The hotel is in a great location and looks great, the communal spaces are amazing, however the windows are terrible and let’s so much noise in, I also had a very bad sell coming from the bathroom drains, which all through reported and “fix” kept returning.

Staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, they were all helpful and cheerful. Our room was larger than anticipated with kitchen facilities - wished we could have stayed longer! Good large fan a bonus. Well stocked bar, plenty of seating. Breakfast more than adequate and we were served at our table which was a nice surprise. Everywhere clean and tidy. Overall a pleasant stay in a central location.
