I have been staying at Marriotts since the 1980s and still am a Bonvoy member though I am now retired and no longer staying in hotels three nights a week. This weekend’s experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had at a Marriott. I dropped off my Hyundai Ioniq5 EV at valet and spoke with the valet for at least five full minutes letting him know that I needed the car charged by Sunday. He told me that that was no problem and he’d take care of it. I handed him the charger adaptor as I have charged up the car there at least two other stays. On Sunday morning I checked my app and saw that the car was not charged. This situation caused me to rearrange my whole trip back as now I’d have to find a place to charge it on the way and make extra time to do so. When I went down that Sunday morning I had a huge, loud argument with your parking Manager in front of all the other guests in the lobby. I explained what happened on Friday with the valet and this guy literally kept yelling at me telling me that it wasn’t his job to explain to customers that they don’t do the charging themselves. I have no problem following whatever process is in place for charging, but I need to be informed of what that process is. He told me it wasn’t his job and there is no way that I had ever charged my car there in the past. I absolutely did and do remember having to go downstairs in the garage to give the guy the adaptor.
