Very good facilities for the price, although there is barely any phone signal there and the wifi/internet, is touch and go. Friendly staff, can't really go wrong for the price.

Third short stay, impressed with the cleanliness and hospitality, very relaxing. For a budget hotel they obviously try hard, this is a higher standard. The restaurant/takeaway onsite offers authentic cuisine, well worth the convenience. Friendly, helpful staff. Good place to stay.

Good location, property adequate but does need some work, fixtures fittings. Appreciate work being done outside on flooring to reception. Carpark confusing as large area is not for hotel and could be fined. Convenient for London working.

Another great stay; clean room comfortable bed, great bathroom. Worth trying the onsite curry restaurant. The hospitality tray is particularly impressive - exceeds the top hotel brands. Honest and economical, good place.

You need to inform the staff every morning that you need a change of towels and bed sheets otherwise they will not do it. It is not automatique The parking area is very restricted for turning so you have to be careful especially exiting. The most dangerous thing is there is no lighting to the entrance of the site and the entrance itself is very narrow so you can easily miss the entrance. Also you have to be careful entering the site as it is very narrow and is set off a busy main road. This may be because the entrance is a common entrance to a boxing gym also so no one is taking responsibility for the lighting to the entrance which I consider dangerous. The room was clean and warm although small as it is one of several chalet type rooms.

Room preheated, nice and cosy, very well equipped with an excellent hospitality tray - lovely tea selection - clean white sheets on a comfortable bed; warm shower with toiletries provided; also a great takeaway onsite (lamb chop chatni recommended).

For the price you get a lot for your money including parking, tea, coffee, biscuits and water, they have in house indian restaurant, good wifi connection for free.. and good hot powerful shower , with complimentary soaps and shampoos.

Welcomed with a pre-heated tastefully decorated very clean room. Large toilet with powerful and warm shower, all toiletries provided, including body cream. Amazing hospitality selection, loved the selection of teas! Comfortable, immaculately clean bed. Room even had air-conditioning! Renovated to high standard.

Firstly I felt lied too as the pictures on hotels.com do not replicate the real life image which is not good at all. When we arrived we couldn’t get parked due to lack of parking spaces as it was joint with a gymnasium and another business. We was waiting for somebody as there was no actual reception just a computer on a shelf in a makeshift cabin it turns out the man on reception was also painting another room we got our keys and before we entered the man took done air freshener in the room and sprayed it I realised later that this was to block the smell of damp mainly to do with the surroundings. When I got in the room the bedding was dirty the actual bed had stains on it toe nails found on the dirty carpet and also the the shower base along with black hairs from a previous occupier suggesting the room was not cleaned overall I slept ok but had when I wasn’t sleeping had no use of tv as that didn’t work and had no phone signal due to the remote location but also no Wi-Fi available at my room as it didn’t reach to me (answer from the receptionist) the morning after I went to make a coffee before leaving but the milk was out of date and the cups dirty and the kettle needed descaling. When vacating the room there was nobody to greet me in the morning to check out so had to place the key back in the room. Overall really poor no customer service at all.

Great if u jus need a bed for the night! We had a concert so was a cheap option. However the bathroom was mouldy and the room was extremely dusty and dirty in every corner. We didn’t shower til we got home!

What a dirty and disgusting 'motel'. From arriving I knew I was in for a bad night, but as it was late, a 100+ miles from home I had little choice. Being told I was given an upgrade and the special room (Room number 2) gave me some confidence as I approached the room, but on entry, that was lost. There were more flies than an episode of I'm a celebrity and once I'd swatted the majority, I looked around. The bedding and towels were clean to be fair, as was the mattress - but the rest of it was only superficially clean. Moving a chair showed loads of dirt behind, etc. Everything looked grubby. To be fair they put sanitiser in the room and I used a lot. The front door wasn't very secure either, as a single lady/woman I would not have felt safe. Also, they are next to a Fight Club gym, and the classes were noisy from about 5:30am, so if you like your sleep, that's not happening either. You get what you pay for, this was a cheaper booking than others in the area, but seriously, if you have a choice, DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The guy on the front desk who checked us in was nice and showed us to our room. The room we stayed in seemed nice at first - nice touches like hairdryer in the room, tea and coffee, shampoos etc. Convenient location to Epping high street and train station within 10 mins. Strange location! Not pleasant looking to drive into. No signal at all, but the hotel do provide unsecured WiFi. Unfortunately with our room, we later noticed the toilet was leaking yellow/brown water from the bottom. It was very late that we checked in so we had to just put towels down and hope for the best through the night. Sadly there was also a stain on the bedding which was offputting. The fire alarm also sounded twice at around 4am so it was a bit of a nightmare really. Definitely wouldn’t stay again. They need to focus on getting the small things right like cleanliness and functionality of rooms before worrying about all the small touches!

I liked the location as it was easy to get to and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. But I disliked the fact that me and my girlfriend woke up to spiders on us in our bed, on our pillow, on the sheets and on the walls. As well as my girlfriend having bit marks on her face and body from these spiders. I don’t know what spiders they are and she is very conscious of the bite on her face. I have pictures and videos to send so please let me know where I should forward them too. After that experience we weren’t able to go back to sleep so it wasn’t a very good experience unfortunately. And she’s upset for being bitten. You know how woman are with their look especially her face. So personally I'm requesting a full refund. This experience ruined my whole night into this morning. She’s constantly looking in the mirror.

Absolute tip booked a deluxe suite with a garden view got put in a room with no windows a selection of dead wildlife in the light fitting and the smoke alarm dangling 8 inches from the cieling by two wires. Complained and got moved to another pokey room with a view of a bunch of stinging nettles woke up to find the toilet had leaked and had left the bathroom floor swamped with water from the toilet. Avoid at all costs a total tip

Booked as a last minute stay, the room itself was poor, however it became even worse when there were stains all over the bed, dead bugs everywhere and the bathroom was unclean, I would like a refund.

The room was relatively clean and the bed was comfortable. However as there is a blind it was not sufficient to block out light enough to enable a good nights sleep. Black out curtains would be the answer to this problem and also give greater privacy and block the draft coming under the door. The cleaners do a decent job. The bedding is nice. Because of the lack of blackout curtains and struggle to park we probably wouldn't visit again.

The mattress had sharp springs poking in my back, there are outdoor lights oytside the rooms with this blinds so the room was flood lit. The blinds didn’t really cover the window so anypne could see inside. Horrible place.

Needs money spending toilet takes over 5 minutes to refill the seat didnt fit, theres 4 different type of tiles no plug in the sink painting looks like its been done by a 5 year old smoke detector was hanging out the ceiling however the bed was comfortable and it was cheap

It was a lot better than we thought after reading reviews. We nearly didn't come. Only downside was heater was noisy, pillows were uncomfortable, no bath mats. being a motel it was a little noisy.

The hotel was very convenient for our weekend plans and was cheap. However, the bedding was dirty and had stains on it. When we arrived nobody was at the front counter and when a man did arrive he checked a room was clear before letting us in and then told us he ‘upgraded’ are room when it was the room we paid for. When we checked out in the morning there was nobody at the front counter, the number listed to contact for help went to voicemail and the reception area was locked. We had to tuck the keycard into the door as there was not letterbox to post our key there - this should not be advertised as 24hour reception. Nobody is there to help during the evenings/early mornings. Also, the flat screen tv was the same size as an A4 piece of paper and there is no wifi here as it states. I will not be staying here again.

Third short stay, impressed with the cleanliness and hospitality, very relaxing. For a budget hotel they obviously try hard, this is a higher standard. The restaurant/takeaway onsite offers authentic cuisine, well worth the convenience. Friendly, helpful staff. Good place to stay.

Firstly I felt lied too as the pictures on hotels.com do not replicate the real life image which is not good at all. When we arrived we couldn’t get parked due to lack of parking spaces as it was joint with a gymnasium and another business. We was waiting for somebody as there was no actual reception just a computer on a shelf in a makeshift cabin it turns out the man on reception was also painting another room we got our keys and before we entered the man took done air freshener in the room and sprayed it I realised later that this was to block the smell of damp mainly to do with the surroundings. When I got in the room the bedding was dirty the actual bed had stains on it toe nails found on the dirty carpet and also the the shower base along with black hairs from a previous occupier suggesting the room was not cleaned overall I slept ok but had when I wasn’t sleeping had no use of tv as that didn’t work and had no phone signal due to the remote location but also no Wi-Fi available at my room as it didn’t reach to me (answer from the receptionist) the morning after I went to make a coffee before leaving but the milk was out of date and the cups dirty and the kettle needed descaling. When vacating the room there was nobody to greet me in the morning to check out so had to place the key back in the room. Overall really poor no customer service at all.

Gave the owner a ring a few weeks prior to my stay to ask whether it was alright if i arrived very early in the morning. This is meant to be a “24/7” reception but the owner was fast asleep when i got there. Not only was he extremely rude when i called his number so i could get in the hotel room, but he also randomly wonders into peoples rooms while they are sleeping to check if the room is empty for you. After arguing back and forth with him about whether i had rung prior to my stay about arriving early in the morning. He finally allowed me into the room too which i was woken an hour later to loud bangs. Extremely poor.

After staying here once before i rebooked again, was great the first time. I arrived after 9pm in the evening, hotel staff were already prepared to check me in, took less than a minute, parking was outside the rooms. The setup is like an American Motel, quite practical. The gentlemen at reception was very forthcoming, he walked me to my room to ensure the room was suitable and i had all the amenities required for the evening. The surprise when he opened the door to the executive suite, i was upgraded. Room was nice, has a separate area for sitting and relaxing, bed was decent size and comfortable. Coffees, tea, water and biscuits were complimentary. The shower was decent and clean, the room had a remote controlled heater and access to fully opening windows. Would recommend and would definitely book again. The location was very convenient with great -access routes to London and essex.

Parking was a little tricky to get in with the car park in front of the rooms. The room was comfortable enough, though a little cool as I couldn't get the heating to work, but under the bed covers it was warm and comfortable. My only issue came a day later as it appeared I had been bitten on my wrists, my shoulders and my chest possibly as a result of being bitten over night in bed, but it could also have been where I went the following morning, so I can't say either way. Also, everyone seemed to be having poor mobile phone signal as people gathered on the veranda outside to get signal.

Good location, property adequate but does need some work, fixtures fittings. Appreciate work being done outside on flooring to reception. Carpark confusing as large area is not for hotel and could be fined. Convenient for London working.

Been sleeping around hotels for a while now, been at ATZ&H Inn several times and probably the best one out of all the hotels I've been in. An ideal location for people who love Epping Forest and especially if you're a South African, you can enjoy a lovely cup of Rooibos Tea in the morning with a walk through the Forest, it's highly recommended. The staff also are very friendly and helpful, available to help at your request. Shops are about a minute drive away, Epping, Theydon Bois and Loughton as the hotel is in the heart of the Forest. It's a 10/10 for me.

You need to inform the staff every morning that you need a change of towels and bed sheets otherwise they will not do it. It is not automatique The parking area is very restricted for turning so you have to be careful especially exiting. The most dangerous thing is there is no lighting to the entrance of the site and the entrance itself is very narrow so you can easily miss the entrance. Also you have to be careful entering the site as it is very narrow and is set off a busy main road. This may be because the entrance is a common entrance to a boxing gym also so no one is taking responsibility for the lighting to the entrance which I consider dangerous. The room was clean and warm although small as it is one of several chalet type rooms.

This is very good value for money - we just needed a hotel for 1 night - It is 3* but was ok for what we needed - Clean/Basic - did have little extras in room of toiletries/Kettle/tea coffee and biscuits - bed was comfy and we asked for ironing board which was provided - would stay again.

Another great stay; clean room comfortable bed, great bathroom. Worth trying the onsite curry restaurant. The hospitality tray is particularly impressive - exceeds the top hotel brands. Honest and economical, good place.

Welcomed with a pre-heated tastefully decorated very clean room. Large toilet with powerful and warm shower, all toiletries provided, including body cream. Amazing hospitality selection, loved the selection of teas! Comfortable, immaculately clean bed. Room even had air-conditioning! Renovated to high standard.

Room preheated, nice and cosy, very well equipped with an excellent hospitality tray - lovely tea selection - clean white sheets on a comfortable bed; warm shower with toiletries provided; also a great takeaway onsite (lamb chop chatni recommended).

There is no fridges in room the staff werent around that much so if we had an enquiry we had to wait for hours for what we paid we where expecting alot more then what we see and came across including dead bugs in light fixer, u had heating but no air con, no where to get food like breakfast and that mould in shower

I really enjoyed my stay here, beds were comfortable, room was a nice size, few nice complementary bits in the room like biscuits, water, tea's and coffee, shampoo and soap's. Some minor touch up work needed in the bathroom but nothing that would particularly bother me or stop me from staying again.

For the price you get a lot for your money including parking, tea, coffee, biscuits and water, they have in house indian restaurant, good wifi connection for free.. and good hot powerful shower , with complimentary soaps and shampoos.

This hotel is actually closed and a building site. Despite this bookings are taken. There are no facilities, the rooms (motel style) have builders’ rubble or are in very poor condition. Frankly felt unsafe and was given every impression no staff on site overnight. We left without hesitation and found accommodation of decent quality elsewhere.
