The White Swan

Just a short drive into Arundel town centre. Very pleasant stay. Room was comfortable and well furnished. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great and there was loads of parking.

Nice room. Quiet and comfortable. Plenty of parking even though a big private party was in swing. Helpful staff.

I have driven past this Pub/Hotel many many times, and always womdered what it was like. It always looks busy and is an attractive looking place. So, rather than drive past I decided we should book a room, have diner and stay over. Many reviews often comment on the staff, well I'm going to join those reviewers! The staff at The White Swan were amazing, thank you. Had a great chat with the Bar Manager, the waiter at diner was very helpful and responsive.At Breakfast the lady that served us was very pleasant and finally the receptionist was mega helpful. She had noticed that there was an issue with payment and resolved it straight away. Also after we left the house keeper found one of our belongings left in the room, reported it to reception and we got a phone call before we were to far away. So, the team at The White Swan were excellent, we can'y thank you enough. Oh, and the pub is mega dog friend.

Dubious spots on the duvet cover, and footend runner which had never been ironed. It rained that night and the rain- gutter outside the window of room 4 is obviously bocked so the resulting noise of overflow made for a disturbed nights sleep

One of the best places to stay with a dog. Staff are very dog friendly and the property is quite large to walk your dog around so it's very convenient. The rooms also have a good sized bath so it was excellent!

We have a friends annual meet up and plan to continue to rebook the white swan after several successful vists. So good i booked my daughter & son in law a weekend as a christmas present....

My friend and I were looking for a base to explore the historic towns, houses and gardens of this area, and struck lucky with this hotel. We were impressed by the pleasantly relaxed atmosphere, the quality of the food, the variety of dining and bar areas and the comfortable, well-maintained and quiet rooms (no audible traffic noise). Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Lovely hotel and pub, excellent free parking. Attentive staff. The room was comfortable and cosy and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the food was good quality. We would definitely stay again.

Good hotel and helpful staff. It was a little way outside of Arundel but that meant it had ample parking.

Fantastic stay. The staff are all really welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is brilliant with a choice of freshly cooked dishes. The hotel is also dog friendly with areas in the restaurant and specific rooms. Our dog even has his own sausage for breakfast.

Bedroom was very clean, staff were excellent and friendly, cooked breakfast very good.

Nice clean sizeable room above a large pub. Breakfast extensive and good quality. The pub itself could possibly do with a facelift.

Rooms were large and clean. Our room was at the back and lovely country views. Plenty of parking

Rooms are lovely but a little tired with mould on the back of the curtains. Breakfast was lovely and the service and knowledge of the bar staff was amazing.

A pleasant pub/restaurant with rooms. Good location within walking distance of Arundel. We walked the field tracks behind the hotel but there is a pavement along the A27 as well. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and everything you need. The food in the restaurant/bar was good. The only drawback was that the WI-FI did not work in our room but we were able to either go outside or into the bar to get coverage.

Very good room size and very comfy. Not noisy despite being on A27. Friendly staff. Wifi a bit hit and miss but otherwise a good stay.

Windows need attention. Room window was made of wood and was in poor condition. Had to be physically forced open due to warping. Fittings on window loose. Room in general was good.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Main issue was poor quality wifi with no alternative as mobile coverage at the hotel is also patchy.

This is an average hotel. The room was ok and it was relatively clean (couple of cobwebs but nothing major). The main issue with this stay was 2 things The first was the noise coming from the kitchen/cellar directly next to my room. It was constant humming sound that kept me up for most of the first night. I tried to go to reception but the door leading back through to the bar was locked. The next day I told someone about the issue and they promised to turn all the fridges and fans off next to my room. They did this for the next night and all was ok. The following night though i woke up at 2-30am to the same noise and couldnt get back to sleep. The noise reverberates against the wall and is like a constant humming for 10 minutes and then stops for 2 minutes before starting again. They were clearly aware of this issue but still put paying guests in this room! The second issue is the shower. It is about as powerful as a small cat lapping the suds from you whilst you desperately try and get the soap out of your hair. The actual shower head is straight from the dawn of time so should be replaced. The food in the bar area was ok although a little pricey so I went to the beefeater down the road which was amazing food at much better prices. Overall I would say there are definitely better hotels in the area for you to stay at, ones where you can actually get a good nights sleep and a decent shower in the morning - pretty much the main two things you want from a hotel room.

They say they have WiFi which I need to work. They haven’t. It simply did not work in my room.

Quite far out of Arundel and poor sound proofing in room so every noise outside the door and through the walls was heard. Rubbish and recycling was collected very close to our bedroom window at 5am.

Wonderful stay… friendly and welcoming staff, great pub/restaurant, room was comfortable and quiet. Loved the walk from the inn to town alongside farms and through the woods! And Arundel is a lovely place to explore 😊

I cannot praise The White Swan staff enough. Every aspect of my stay was flawless. Everyone was friendly, courteous and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was incredible. The hotel is conveniently located 1.2 miles from Arundel city center, so walking to town is a great option. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice, relaxing stay in an excellent hotel.

Lovely pub and hotel. We walked here from the train station and didn't realise it would take that long. It took about 20/25 minutes to get to the city centre from the hotel. The rooms are lovely and the shower was great. The room sies get hot at night but there was a fan in the room. I would stay again but would cab it to and from.

Good location for goodwood

Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. A great location for visiting Arundel with the advantage of an off-road walk into the town via a bridleway at the back of the inn. The room was clean and tidy but a little tired. Overall good value for money and would definitely come back again.

Rooms great. Staff great. Food and service great. Just a bit out of town. Great if you have a car, otherwise taxis needed. Castle cars were great though.

Great room and v helpful staff. Was tricky walk from town to White Swan. Taxi service ordered from pub on arrival were not good. Castle Cars.

Nice friendly hotel. Situated just out side Arundel. Comfy room and very quite. Great location for horse racing at Fontwell Park. Would stay there again !

We were really impressed with this stay - the staff were superbly helpful. The location is excellent for visits to the local area - and what really impressed us was the food we ordered. - especially on the 1st night - Sea Bass and the Thai Beef were top class!
