The food was excellent. The staff was mostly friendly. We asked twice for an extra pillow and they failed to respond either time. The elevators are rarely in working order.

The beach view was great, the restaurant staff were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and willing. The hospitality overall was exceptional. Pool was clean with good entertainment.

Didn’t like the fact that the pools closed at 6pm. The food was not that great and it was cold. Not a lot of entertainment for adults.. we will never visit this property again.

This was a very tough review to do for a couple reasons. There were a lot of great things with the resort and also some pretty bad things. The pros: Beautiful Room/view A lot to do on the resort property A good selection of restaurants (despite some repeat or subpar dishes) Mostly friendly staff The cons: Terrible room service (we had to call multiple times anytime we ordered from room service, and sometimes we wouldn't get service at all) Poor facilities - the elevators were constantly broken down and half working Unprofessional staff - despite being mostly friendly, some were kind of rude but most of them were very unprofessional, goofing off with each other in front of the guests and overall overly relaxed attitude around the guests that should not be found at most 5 star resorts

The property was clean and well maintained. I wished for the pool to be open longer.

Property itself is beautiful, however the cracks are showing from age. Staff is great, management is clearly not. Splashes of paint EVERYWHERE - on furniture, plants, walkways because zero care is given during the painting process. I get that it's off season, but I still paid a good amount of money only to discover half the restaurants closed, and the ones open with skeleton crews running them. How do you shut down TWO of the sit down options for renovation at the same time??? Literally were only able to have one non-buffet meal the entire week. Safe in every room in our party was non functional. Doubt very much I will return.

I loved the food and drinks. I think the pool on the luxury side should stay open longer than 6pm. They should add an evening pool party on the luxury side.

Overall the property was nice. Most restaurants were very slow and had limited reservations available. The pools and rooms were nice. The beach was very rocky. The pool shut down at 6pm daily which was disappointing.

The property was beautiful. Deck around pool extremely slippery several people fell who didnt wear deck shoes, but we read reviews and were fine. Staff were very friendly and helpful and super kind. We loved the quietness and availability of items due to low number of people. Do wish staff would have provided more of an overview of the resort and amenities at check in. Luxury side was totally worth it, despite not getting the rooms requested or dinners.

Upon arrival I'd booked a double bed, once i got there i was told that they only had a king bed so i was forced to sleep on a couch with no coverings after i requested. I paid for 2 beds not 1. I didn't want to share a bed with a female so i sleep on the couch. No elevators were working so i decided to use the staff elevator. Front desk workers were very rudy. Pool attendants were the best part of my trip. Couldn't get into any of the restaurants on site. Trying to get a cart to go to the marketplace was impossible. Over all I will not return.

The property has great potential, but it definitely needs renovations. The rooms felt dated and weren’t very clean, and there was noticeable mold in the shower. The air conditioner also didn’t work well, which made the stay a bit uncomfortable. On the positive side, the sea views from the room were absolutely stunning, the staff was very hospitable, and the service was excellent. The food, however, was not the greatest and could use improvement. Overall, I would consider visiting again once the property is renovated because the location and service truly stand out.

The working staff is wonderful. The upper staff does not give the working staff any raises or any recognition when reviews are written for them. I came to the front desk and told them the shower was leaking, I slipped and fell because of that they did not fix it until three days later. Coffee was not left in the room for three days. Water was not left in the room for two days. Mold is all around the pool edges and on the curtains in our room. No one came to check on this. This resort is going downhill and we stayed on the luxury side. What a shame I even spoke to a supervisor who did nothing about this. The owners are putting all the money in their pocket and not dispersing it to the staff what a shame. Mosquitoes were all in the room. I got bit three times and my husband was killing several. That’s ridiculous!

The property of the resort is nice the pool area, the beach. However, the room I think the room I was given was not updated. Furniture was chipped, when we would get back to the room in the evening we would find roaches. We were there for 4 night 5 day and in total during our start we saw 6 roaches. The wall you can see stain from liquid thrown to the wall. They should have spot with food station with finger food instead of souvenir near the pool. The food would be cold never really got till you request it. I would go back if they did the necessary changes and updates. It was hard to know who did breakfast it would change restaurant from day to day.

Yes the room was spotless staff was excellent and very helpful.

Loved the resort, loved being on the adults only side but having access to the perks on the family side. They are constantly cleaning/pressure washing, or painting/updating. Staff was mostly extremely friendly. The App is useless, wish that got updated so you could do things like make dinner reservations and see the map or menus instead of having to go to separate websites for that. Overall, Jamaica is paradise and bahia luxury was worth every penny, would return.

I saw roaches in two of the restaurants

Very disappointing experience. Based on the pictures and reviews, you will get really excited about staying here. Actually staying there leaves much to be desired. Forget the fact that the pools close early and the beaches are not truly meant for swimming. The most horrifying experience was at Takada restaurant where we dined with our friends the Cockroaches we found underneath our table. So disgusted with the roaches and how long it took to get the food that we walked out and went to buffet. Never spent so much time at a buffet trying to eliminate disgusting inedible options.

Bahia Principe Luxury is absolutely beautiful. As soon as I stepped into the reception area it took my breath away. So so beautiful. The property is well maintained. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful. Shaunte the reservationist for the excursions was super helpful. The most friendliest people I have ever met. I would definitely recommend that anyone coming to Jamaica stay at this resort.

A lot of things are dated, not necessarily dirty or unclean, but just old. Our air didn’t blow well and our hot water only worked on the first and second nights. The front desk and room staff were excellent. The food was just okay. The staff at the Brazilian steak house pick and chose who they wanted to enforce wardrobe requirements on at dinner. There were guests that had on far fewer clothing items that were seated before and after he turned one of our group attendees around. For a beachfront property that was adults-only, and for the restaurant to be located outside, clothing shouldn’t have been an issue, u mess someone was naked or showing their private parts. It was average overall and I won’t return.

The view from our sea view deluxe suite balcony was amazing. Would not recommend getting a room with a view facing the highway. Extremely noisy on that side. Hot tub in room would not drain properly. Weird holes and cracks in the ceiling. Food was not good. The nearest KFC was the best thing to eat. The juzzis poolside were not heated and the pool was only open until 6pm which was absolutely ridiculous for an adults only resort. Staff were hit or miss. Some were really cool and helpful and some were just plain rude for no reason. Overall it was an okay trip, but if you want a better resort quality trip I'd stay away from Jamaica altogether.

I liked my stay at the Bahia Prinicipe Runaway Bay. Overall, the facilities are okay but definitely need renovation. The mattress was the worst part of the stay being very thin and lack of cushioning. The staff in every area from the dining services to the front desk and guest experience were all very kind and accommodating when we had an issue with the safe that took a couple days to resolve. Food was ok. Good variety. I will return and this is a solid 3-star resort- not the best and not the worst.

Our room was clean and spacious. The view was beautiful and the sound of the ocean was relaxing. They came in daily to restock the room. We felt very well taken care of at the resort. Each employee we came across made sure we were having a great time.

Bottom sheet bottom sheet did not cover the mattress. My calves and feet were literally on the bare mattress until I realized the issue There was only an Outlet on one side of the bed prohibiting charging by both occupants To alleviate this problem we requested An extension cord which was promised multiple times but never delivered The Toilet seat did not cover the toilet bowl rim by a couple of inches. Toilet paper had to be utilized as a shield to prevent direct contact with the bowl Cards were required to obtain Beach Towels. These cards were not provided at check in and thus we had to return to the front desk to get the requisite

The property is beautiful and felt safe. The pools were massive and clean. The room was ok but is out dated, there were only 3 outlets in the bedroom area none of which is a USB and only 1 beside the bed. The TV is very small and picture quality is poor. The food quality and drinks at NYAM buffet was terrible.

The only complaint I had with Bahia Principe Luxury is the room. The walls/door did not block any sound at all. We heard people walking, talking, yelling, etc all night long. Then in the morning we would hear the staff talking to each other across the hall. It sounded like they were pretty much inside our room. That, plus the constant loud music/entertainment at the pool was ultra annoying. We requested to move rooms, which we were granted. But unfortunately, the doors/walls were still paper thin. Still heard everything amplified x1000. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep. I wish we had ear plugs. Besides that, (and we were only in the room to sleep and wake up) the resort was amazing! The staff including Adary and Thunder, were amazing. Don't think I've ever been to a resort where the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food at the a la carte restaurants were really good! I would definitely recommend the resort to anyone interested in Runaway Bay!

Beautiful property! Not too many people so very relaxing stay. Nice hotel rooms however many things that were asked to be fixed were not fixed. For example, the shower head broke off night one and was not fixed even after multiple asks. Staff was nice, however seemed more “tip driven” and as if they did not want to have to be nice to us. Best part of the trip was the views, clean beaches, and the food!

The property was absolutely beautiful. What made this place special was the incredible staff. We arrive for my husband birthday, things wasn’t set up as prior request, however the staff made up for that. Tamika Parke went above and beyond to ensure that our room was set up correctly. She took great care of us and that made it extra special. I can’t leave out Holly Aldridge and Deshane. I also want to say a BIG thank you to Kacey the bell man he was the best. To management these are the kid of people you need to keep. They made the trip extra special.

This was a terrible property. The resort was poorly staffed and several restaurants and bars were not open, making it nearly impossible to get a dinner reservation. Although some staff really did the best they could, many staff members were rude and unwilling to help guests. Our experience was not positive and we ended up moving to a different resort after four days to try to salvage the rest of our vacation.

We had several issues wish our room. It took far too many requests to get items fixed. Most staff were nice but a little pushy with their Privilege Club they want you to listen to during an hour and a half presentation.

I enjoyed my stay up until the last day of checking out. The receptionist named Jamar was very rude and inconsiderate. He told me there is a charge on my account for a bottle of wine that I did not order. He said there is nothing he could do and I can’t check out if I don’t pay for the bottle of alcohol. He refused to get a manager to help me and walked away after I told him I wouldn’t pay. I was late for my airport shuttle so my friend had to pay the charge for me. He then refused to give me the receipt I needed to board the shuttle to the airport. This left a very bad taste in my mouth and not sure I want to go back to this hotel.

My check-in was at 3pm, my room was not ready until 5 pm. The beds need to be changed in certain rooms, when you lay on them it sounds like plastic wrap. The food was NOT good but the employees were nice. I do not recommend unless it's a free experience and you have a private driver. I hear it's under new management starting Jan 2026 but I'm not eager to see any improvements.

Our stay at this resort was extremely frustrating and far below what one would expect from a place that markets itself as “luxury.” From the very beginning, we were treated rudely by almost all of the staff. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated case: about 99% of the employees we interacted with were rude, and after speaking with other guests, we heard the same complaints. This shows that the problem is not occasional but systemic. The food was also very disappointing, completely unworthy of the price charged or the resort’s image. We tried to book tables at the on-site restaurants, but were told there was no availability for any of the days of our stay. In other words, we paid for an experience that simply did not exist. I don’t know if the staff is working under exhausting conditions (which might partially explain their lack of courtesy), but the fact is that the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced in a trip. I would definitely not recommend this resort.

This was a girls trip and I was sharing the room with a friend. When booking, we requested a double room/2 queen beds. Upon arrival, to our surprise we were assigned a king room. The staff were unapologetic almost rude, and they didn’t even offer us any comps to make up for the error. Their attitude was like oh well. We asked to speak with the general manager, one of the young ladies who initially checked us in said she was the general manager. We asked for a business card and was told that they didn’t any. We had to make the most of the stay. When we would walk through the resort, staff members would not speak, we would speak first and then they’d respond. Other resort guest were more friendly than staff. The resort is all inclusive and says the mini bar is restocked. But that’s not true, you only get 1 small bottle of rum upon arrival. They do give you 2 bottles of water daily. The have several restaurants and 2 buffets. One of the buffets changes to their Brazilian steakhouse after 6:00 in the evening. The food at the steakhouse was ok. The Jasmin Buffett had a great breakfast selection, but I did notice that French toast was reused to make grilled cheese 😩they had a Caribbean night and the food was very good. The drinks were ok at the bars and were made with mid liquor, we opted to pay for top shelf. The pool was nice, DJ played good music. I would not go back to this resort nor recommend it.

Amazing and friendly staff

We had a wondeful time. Most of the staff was super nice and attentive. The front desk made multiple calls to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This was our second time at the location and thrid in Jamaica overall. Definitely plan on going back with family.

For the most part it was quiet, not too crowded. The only thing I wish was different was a better beach experience not hedged by rocks. WiFi was not as great, but then again the point was to get away! Great effort to keep establishment clean.

I loved the people, the pools were too warm ,but the ocean is refreshing. The beach on the Grand side is so much better then the luxury side. The room was nice with a beautiful view and very clean. The food was just ok. I would definitely go back.

The property, rooms and amenities are top notch, but we were in a room (5th floor ocean view) that was very, very noisy. From the loud clanging of the room service carts starting at 7am to the trucks and motorcycles ripping by the resort all night. Didn’t get much sleep . Also, the beach area is horrible, so if you’re a beach and ocean person, this resort is not for you. Negril would be a better option. Food was decent but the buffet dining was much better than the restaurants…best thing we ate was the delicious jerk chicken all week !

Our recent stay at Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, was absolutely beautiful. The resort is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport. We booked round-trip transportation in advance, and the service was smooth and reliable. The resort itself is breathtaking. The grounds are immaculately kept—huge kudos to the landscaping and maintenance crew. The food and drinks were fantastic! We especially loved the different outdoor food stations scattered throughout the property—ice cream, smoothies, and grilling stations made it fun and super convenient for guests to grab a bite while enjoying the resort. Room cleanliness was just okay. While the basics were covered, the curtains definitely need some attention—they should be washed or treated. That would make a big difference. As for the staff, not everyone was friendly, but there were a few who went out of their way to smile and greet us. The entertainment team, on the other hand, was amazing—especially Crazy Legs! His energy and vibe made the experience extra fun. On our final evening, we had a romantic dinner on the beach, and it was truly special. Holly made the evening unforgettable—she even came to our room to personally escort my husband and me to our beautifully set table on the beach. Overall, the resort has so much to offer and left us with some beautiful memories. With a few small improvements, it could be a perfect getaway spot!

It’s an all inclusive resort close to Ocho Rios town center with lots of excursions options offered. Stayed at the resort for a week and was able to avail my VIP access upgrade and was grateful to get a good ocean and pool view- good size room with balcony- thanks for the upgrade. The hotel staff were very pleasant, respectful, polite and friendly with few exceptions grouchy, well you can find it anywhere. The place was well maintained, always find someone cleaning. The resort has different dining options buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of food choices as well as the fine dining for dinner with reservations required. I wasn’t able to get reservations for the Italian and the steak place that I want. The Mikado Japanese cuisine I wasn’t informed that I have to ask for hibachi when you make dinner reservation. Out of the five restaurants I dined only 2 stand out the Picasso. I had lamb chuck great taste nicely seasoned and good serving. The Mikado even if it wasn’t Hibachi overall it’s fine and the Radizio except for the lamb it’s smelly. The rest needs work on meat preparation and cooking hard to chew and Chinese place should serve hot soup not cold or lukewarm. The bar staff were great very friendly and quick with giving drinks both in poolside/beach a lobby bar. Overall the resort was good and enjoyed my stay. FYI!! the beach pass the Grand Bahia is nice with fine sand, not rocky with variety of colorful fish. Walk all the way to the last bar-the bend.

I had a great time from check in to check out. My room was upgraded to an ocean view room. The staff made us feel like family. The only downside was we were about 30 minutes away from Ocho Rios, but there are drivers that will take care of you all weekend. We stayed on the adults only resort which I recommend for those who dont want to be around children. The food was good! Im upset I couldnt find oxtail!

The Bahia Principle Luxury is a great place to vacation if you are looking for relaxing saftey and fun We spent 4 nights of continuous activities ample food and drink and a whole lot of sunshine The rooms are a little dated, food was a 3.5 out of 5 but I would definitely return if the opportunity came along

The beach was awful too many rocks to enjoy the water, the pool closed every time there was thunder and I understand it’s for safety but it wasn’t reopened after thunder/rain passed so if you don’t get to the pool by 10am you won’t get to enjoy it or any of the activities, once the pool is closed so are all activities all you can do is drink (by the way this is the only all inclusive I’ve been to where you have to pay for so called premium drinks that each bar charged a different price for). The shuttle needs to run more often especially at night and during dinner. There needs to be more nightlife, there was no club/disco as advertised, there where restaurants advertised on the web site that didn’t exist, I ordered breakfast at 8am to arrive at 9am, at 9:10 am I called the front desk to see where my order was and was asked did I call it in or use the app, I told her I used the app, she check and said the food should arrive shortly, I know she just put the order in the food didn’t arrive til almost 10am, this was very rude she should’ve told the truth that the order was never placed and if I still wanted it, I had arrangements for that day that’s why I ordered the food at that time, if no one is going to check the app for orders then remove it. Also the tile is not safe when wet I don’t know who the designer was but they picked an awful probably the cheapest tile there is, my daughter slip on the tile and fell down the stairs, also the was a leak from the ceil in her bathroom.

Great staff, great vibes. The only thing that needs to be improved is the food quality at the à la carte restaurants. The buffet was consistently better than any of the other restaurants. Keep up the good work, we’ll be back! 🇯🇲

Long walk anywhere you go on the property, nowhere to eat besides buffets, most the food is cold, , could not get any reservations at the nice restaurants because they were all booked up as soon as we got there , the all inclusive is a joke, they don’t put hardly any alcohol in the free drinks , and only certain drinks are free. Bottom shelf stuff. Everything extra including rides off resort cost an arm and a leg until you complain, then they find you a cheaper ride. Bahia principe at runaway bay gets a thumbs down from me. I will Never go back.

I recently stayed at the Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay in Jamaica, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The resort is beautifully located along the northern coast, offering stunning ocean views and lush tropical surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with smiles and making sure we felt comfortable. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony view of the beach. Although some furniture felt a bit dated, the housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything tidy. One of the highlights was the variety of dining options. From Jamaican specialties to international cuisine, the food was delicious and the service attentive. I especially enjoyed the themed restaurants, though reservations were sometimes hard to get. The poolside entertainment was lively and fun, with activities like Zumba and volleyball throughout the day. If you're looking for peace and quiet, though, the music and crowd might be a bit much at times. The beach area was nice but not ideal for swimming—it’s more of a lagoon-style setup with shallow water. Still, it was perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. There were a few hiccups, like slow room service and occasional maintenance issues, but the management was responsive when we raised concerns. Overall, I’d recommend this resort f

Overall, our experience was good. The hotel staff was superb! The cleaning service initially was lacking until I received a courtesy call and complained how our rooms weren’t being cleaned until after 5:00 PM when we were coming back from the pool. Once the complaint was made, the service was impeccable thereafter. One major complaint I will say I was very disappointed in was the lack of reservations we could make for dinner. We tried making reservations days before we even arrived at the property and everything was booked up. We had to eat at the buffet for the most of the time which was on repeat, so the food choices were the same daily and boring. After repeatedly checking in with the concierge, we were able to gain three reservations at the restaurants, And they were MUCH better than the buffet. I was slightly disappointed in the beach as there wasn’t much in the way of swimming outward to the open sea as it was blocked in by a rock wall. The depth of the water that was swimmable was very shallow. So we spent most of the time at the pool and the swim up bar, (which was amazing). It was a nice experience, but I don’t think I would come back to the same resort next time.
