Modest kitchen with gas stove and oven, microwave and refrigerator/freezer that worked well. Outside community BBQ worked well. Pool set at 88 degrees and small but nice. Quiet neighborhood. On site manager and check in at the pool bar after texting that you were on site. Private patio in my bungalow.

This property is falsely advertised as a casino resort with spa. No casino. No spa. Doesn’t even have a front desk. It was fine for what it was, bed was comfortable, room was clean. But only amenities were a pool and hot tub. Small tv in the room - not 55” as stated. Workspace was small outdoor style metal table with tiny metal chairs. I would never have booked this hotel for that price. Very disappointed.

What a cute set of 1950s bungalows. Perfect for a friends get away. Adult only which was nice. Pool and jacuzzi are open all hours. Theres a Bar area and BBQ great for gatherings. Private and small so it feels cozy rather than the larger resorts. Each bungalow has a nice size kitchen some have living rooms and dining rooms and private patios. Quite too as it sits away from busy Palm Canyon Drive. Cute neighborhood and 5 mins by car to Downtown Palm Springs, grocery stores and restaurants. Cant wait to come back for another stay.

I love A Place in the Sun. It’s like stepping back in time but with modern conveniences. The rooms are bungalows with little kitchenettes and private patios in the back. The grounds are spacious, the pool and hot tub are great. Hammocks close to the pool, are great in the evening. It’s quiet and well managed. The bungalows feel private are super clean, and have basic amenities. Some kitchenware, small fridge, small tv. It’s a simple room. But comfortable and functional. Don’t expect frills. But enjoy the privacy and nostalgia. I’ve stayed 2 times and will continue to do so. A Place in the Sun is special.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The entire living quarters was full of BLEACH!!! My contact lens's got ruined within the few minutes I was in the premises, both my Wife and I got physically ILL from the effects of BLEACH inhalation, we are currently starting litigation against the owner. The photo's do not represent what you will see in real life, the place was disgustingly filthy and everything is old and war torn, the bed looks 20 years old. The owners are terrible, you will not be able to ever talk to them if you have an issue.

This place has tons of potential....they already have the layout to make a great MCM st boutique motel....they just need some upgrades and a good cleaning of the exterior. Powerspraying the white exterior brick would do wonders. Also we stayed in room 18....it looks like at one point that was probably the place the groundskeeper stayed....so you walk into the front door and there is a locked door to your left which I realized where the current office is, you walk down the hallway and your bedroom is through one door and your bathroom through another. But you kind of feel like you have no privacy because just down the hallway is the office door.

We really liked this place- it's super cute and fun. However, we had a truly horrible smell coming out of our drain. They came by to fix it twice, but it came right back. We ended up having to change hotels because it was so nauseating. They didn't offer to change our room, give us a refund, or even apologise. It was really disappointing because otherwise I would have liked to have stayed here again..

This place is incredible! Super cute kitschy boutique motel that is impeccably clean and cozy. It is just so adorable. I am in love with this hotel. The lawn is so well manicured and green, the beds are SUPER comfortable, and the kitchen is a cute vintage space with everything you could need. I love the pool/jacuzzi in the center with the hammocks and lounge chairs and it is just so quiet and serene here. Alex the gentleman who checked us in was so kind and you can tell he works hard to keep this cozy place in check. This hotel was much more affordable than the other options down the road and we are glad that we opted for here. I will definitely be back as I feel super refreshed and relaxed. This is true Palm Springs and did not disappoint.

On arrival, you need to text the reception with name to allow entrance to check in. Easy on street parking in a quiet area. An excellent check-in with a friendly Alex. A clean and spacious patio King to myself on a killer rate booked same week for a Thursday eve. The Aircon was great but too loud for me so had to turn off overnight... Which could be a problem for some.

This place was great, except the shower really needed some shelves in it, and it didn’t drain well. You also have to text upon arrival, and the slow response caused panic in a lot of people, but once you get in it’s gorgeous!

Weird check in. With no person to person interactions. Only text messages. Pretty cool hotel the room was clean and retro. Not a bad stay. Just a weird check in process and had to ask for information rather than being given general information.

There is no front desk. Check in is crazy. You have to text a picture of your Id and wait on your car for a code to enter the hotel. I was there 4 days and no housekeeping, internet died and text to get it fix and they kept telling me to reset some switch. Ask to talk to someone and nothing. Very frustrating that you can not talk to anybody. Only text. Very weird system.

The staff was unique with respect to dishonesty, rudeness and incompetence I had a confirmed reservation made hours before my arrival at the property, which was at approximately nine in the evening. I followed the hotel’s check in instructions and did not get a response from Alex, the staff member on duty, for over one hour. It was only after I contacted Expedia. Over an hour after my arrival, I got a text from Alex, informing me that he had cancelled my guaranteed reservation and gave no reasons for doing so. Alex also didn’t explain why he waited to give me this news at ten thirty at night, leaving me high and dry in Palm Springs without a reservation. At the time, I was at a complete loss over Alex’s bizarre behavior. I told Axex that I was not leaving the property until I got an explanation from him as to the specific reasons for his decision. I did hear from Alex. His response was void of any substance. Instead, he made a series of vague threats against me, which was extremely unprofessional. In fact, his threats were laughable, as this tough guy was too much of a coward to actually come out and talk to me. Actually, Alex did me a great favor by canceling my reservation. A Place in the Sun is a dump. It is essentially a dirty, rundown motel that appears to have its last update during the Eisenhower administration. The outdoor area has all the charm of a prison yard, with its high walls constructed to keep out the crazies in the bad neighborhood.

Though some aspects of the units are dated, A Place in the Sun is great - spacious, nicely maintained common area, good location. We had a unit with a private yard and patio, which was excellent for our dog. We had direct access out the back door to the riverwalk, which was perfect.

I loved my stay at A Place in the Sun! It’s so quiet and peaceful, and it’s like stepping back in time. The units have everything you need and are so comfortable and spacious! I felt like I had my own little private apartment. Alex was wonderful and so helpful! It’s great that this hotel is in a beautiful neighborhood and convenient to everything. The pool area is also quite lovely. I would absolutely stay here again!
