The beds were comfortable and hotel nicely updated. I knew when booking the steam showers would not be operational, but two of the four spray settings in our room did not work, and the shower had a previous guests nasal strips in it. The bathroom curtains also had lipstick smeared on them. I wasn’t aware when booking that the hot tub and sauna had to be prebooked, allowing for “private use”. I say “private” because the rooftop is still open to others and another couple kept interrupting us. No matter, because the hot tub was broken (not heating, no bubbles). It also needed to be cleaned. The sauna did work, but there were no robes or towels available at the sauna or hot tub area. The location was great, very walkable, and the hotel was nicely updated. Just needs some improvements for better service.

Friendly staff, the main bedroom was very nice, however half of the features on the shower were broken. The rooftop hot tub also has to be booked in advance, and hotel parking is limited.

Pros: We chose this place for the rooftop hot tub, which did not disappoint. It also has a very nice rooftop patio with lots of tables, chairs, hammocks, and a shade tent. We loved that it was just off Baker St (the main drag) and that we could walk most places downtown. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and answered our questions easily. The Thai restaurant inside the hotel was tasty. The Nespresso machine in our rooms and foyer were a nice touch. As well as the nice foyer! Cons: we were a little disappointed about the parking, though that was clearly mentioned on Expedia and the hotel's website. What was completely lacking was the explanation of what "no elevator" means. We didn't realize that all the rooms were on the second floor. This is not mentioned on the hotel website at all. The bathroom looked nice but the shower was difficult to move around in and the jets in the photos didn't work. I tried all the settings. We had the door hanger used to clean our room after the first night because we needed more bath towels, but that didn't happen until the second night (we stayed 3 nights). After the room was made up, we had more towels than before (such as a bath mat and face cloths - this wasn't in response to us saying anything as we didn't realize they were missing until we had them provided)! No free breakfast wasn't a big deal but we had hoped for some snacks.

Great stay for couple nights while skiing. The hotel has awesome amenities: sauna, jacuzzi to unwind and also nice common area with coffe/tea, area to socialize. Great location. Nice to check in and check-out. Definitely recommended

Great location, fun "hostel" styled common space, the hot tub was clean, the rooftop is excellent. Only gripe is that the shower was stained from use but clean and some of the functions didn't work but it still worked like a shower, and the shower isn't why we ended up here instead of the Hume anyways. Staff were amazing, courteous, and helpful. Absolutely recommend watching the sunset from the rooftop or the hot tub.

Lovely room, cool design - reminded me of old Montreal style, with the brick wall and high ceilings. Very spacious. 2 bathrooms! Lady who checked us in (manager, I think) was just lovely, very friendly, helpful and informative. Great location, with cafes, restaurants and shopping close by. Clean on the surface. Just don't look under the bed, or too closely at the vents. Apparently very rarely cleaned! The man I spoke to on the phone to book initially wasn't very customer oriented, friendly or helpful, to the point that I decided not to book with him, and almost didn't book at all. Ended up booking on Expedia, for a MUCH better price.

Lovely old building. Parking was iffy. No one at front desk. Had to ring every time. Rugs needed vacuuming. Found last guests mascara on the floor. Weird stains in the shower. Not impressed with the coffee machine (nespresso?) The heated floor in the bathroom was nice, as was the rooftop patio. Overall not terrible, but not excellent

The hotel was nice enough. They have a very small parking lot across the street otherwise it’s meter street parking. The staff were nice and helpful but I can only give a 1 star because in the morning I discovered bed bugs in our room! I told the staff, who did not seem surprised ,they advised me on how to seek a refund through Expedia which I did. They said they would block the room and deal with the bed bugs so I hope that they do!

There was black mold growing in the room from what looked to be a leaky sprinkler head. It had been painted over at one point, but was growing through the paint. There was also lots of soap/mildew buildup in the shower area.

Generally this property was good for a short stay, however the rooms are very tiny with no closet space whatsoever. We found three hooks for two people to be inadequate. A lovely rooftop deck provided a great view with a large seating area as well as a hot tub.

The room was in good condition. That being said the mattress was worn out and you could feel your body sinking, as well as very loose and flat pillows. That resulted in some neck pain the next morning. The floor layout is a bit strange, with a large common area in the center and all rooms around it, making it a hit noisy. Lucky for me there were very little guests when I stayed at the hotel. Hot tub is nice tho very small. Booking system in place so every one can enjoy it.

We enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the King Suite. One of the reasons we stayed in that room was because of the multi-jetted shower. Unfortunately only the overhead rain and hand-held shower heads worked. The many side shower heads weren’t functioning. Other than the shower, the room was big and was a great place to relax.

This quaint hotel feels more like a floor of private hostel rooms, surrounding an open communal kitchen and lounge. This means you can easily hear people outside your room and it would be super difficult to relax if people gathered there to chat/hangout. The rooms are very small, where the king bed takes up most of the space. The bed was very comfy however!! The bathroom had a large window but the bedroom did not have one. The towel rack and floor are heated, which was a nice extra. The shower was from the space age with lots of bells and whistles (but not all of them worked). The shampoo and soaps were really nice and smelled amazing! The power went out during our first morning there, which was inconvenient but notably not the hotels fault. I just wish the staff made an effort to alert us of the issue on their own (I called the desk an hour after it went out to ask and he said he hadn’t tried to contact anyone about it yet). The rooms have a finicky AC unit (very hard to adjust the temperature due to the buttons just not working) but when it was set, it worked well to cool the tiny room. Downside to using it? Someone broke the rules and went up to the rooftop to smoke weed and it came right into our unit. We didn’t want to get high that night but…lol. Finally, I used the sauna for 45 mins and that was great. Worked well and you get privacy as it has to be booked in advance. Was a nice touch!

I just wish the staff made an effort to alert us of the issue on their own (I called the desk an hour after it went out to ask and he said he hadn’t tried to contact anyone about it yet). The rooms have a finicky AC unit (very hard to adjust the temperature due to the buttons just not working) but when it was set, it worked well to cool the tiny room. Downside to using it? Someone broke the rules and went up to the rooftop to smoke weed and it came right into our unit. We didn’t want to get high that night but…lol. Finally, I used the sauna for 45 mins and that was great. Worked well and you get privacy as it has to be booked in advance. Was a nice touch!

Room was very small but well set up and clean with some pleasant amenities,( heated floor in the bathroom etc). the showered was ok but the side jets did not function. The initial contact with a male staff member was very rude and curt. The remaining staff were pleasant. Be prepared to pay $15 to park.

Nice location. Friendly lady checked me in. Was hoping to check in at 3:15 but told no one allowed to check in until 4 so I had to sit in my truck for 45 min. All good but would have appreciated a room if available. Neat common room and beautiful roof top. Interesting historical building. Nothing special, but nice.

Nice building and suites. Good location right downtown in Nelson. Room was clean. Faults with room and hotel as follows. Don’t expect front desk staff or service of normal hotel. One person there I saw. And have to ring bell at front and call to get someone to come. Parking…there is none except for what they call 5 spots across the street that only park 4 vehicles. And have to reserve and pay for a spot. On a normal weekend probably not an issue to just get parking on the street but during event weekend such as car show it’s a big issue. Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Bed was comfortable but no side tables…as bed jammed in corner. First time I’ve never had a side table by the bed in a hotel. And have to get in and out of bed from the end as no room on either side of bed. It’s a suite so has little kitchen. Had plates, but yet not a single bowl to use. No actual cable tv either. They use the free Samsung TV feature…so forget watching any real tv, sports, whatever. Overall it’s a decent place to stay due to being right downtown. But definitely lacking in some areas for the price charged. 3/5 stars.

Great property and newly updated with beautiful decor. The rain shower was awesome and the staff was very friendly. It seemed to be missing just minor things, like a plug for the sink drain so i could shave, an ironing board. Also, the staff were great...when you could find them. As well, the lounge area could make an excellent breakfast area, if you were to pursue a complimentary breakfast option in future. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay.

We originally booked the room due to the unique heritage aspect of the building. Upon arrival, the staff member who checked us in was cold and unfriendly. Once checked in and upon accessing our room, we realized that our window was broken and did not open, the glass had not been cleaned and there were fingerprints up and down the window and several settings on the shower were out of order. When we went to use the hot tub at our reserved time, we discovered that none of the lights around the outside of the hot tub worked nor any of the outdoor lighting on the rooftop patio. While trying to turn on the lights, we accidentally set off an alarm and, when we contacted the night staff to notify them, they responded that they didn't know how to activate the lights and they were still not operable on our second night. The staff member who checked us out was very friendly and the surrounding area is great. Maybe our experience was a once off, but it was enough that we won't be returning.

If you enjoy high end accommodation this is a great property for you. I had to get acquainted with how to use the dimable light switches, the multi faucet shower and the in room coffee machine. Very clean, neat boutique hotel. My room had a view of one of many murals downtown Nelson. The sushi downstairs was also very good.

Pros: We chose this place for the rooftop hot tub, which did not disappoint. It also has a very nice rooftop patio with lots of tables, chairs, hammocks, and a shade tent. We loved that it was just off Baker St (the main drag) and that we could walk most places downtown. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and answered our questions easily. The Thai restaurant inside the hotel was tasty. The Nespresso machine in our rooms and foyer were a nice touch. As well as the nice foyer! Cons: we were a little disappointed about the parking, though that was clearly mentioned on Expedia and the hotel's website. What was completely lacking was the explanation of what "no elevator" means. We didn't realize that all the rooms were on the second floor. This is not mentioned on the hotel website at all. The bathroom looked nice but the shower was difficult to move around in and the jets in the photos didn't work. I tried all the settings. We had the door hanger used to clean our room after the first night because we needed more bath towels, but that didn't happen until the second night (we stayed 3 nights). After the room was made up, we had more towels than before (such as a bath mat and face cloths - this wasn't in response to us saying anything as we didn't realize they were missing until we had them provided)! No free breakfast wasn't a big deal but we had hoped for some snacks.

Enjoyed having a suite with a kitchen to prepare some meals, though it was not equipped very well. many large serving dish options, though no dish cloth/towel, cutting board, or soup/cereal bowls. Had a great stay. The front desk clerk was very friendly. The room was lovely. The only very minor thing is that we would have liked to have some coffee cream. We did ask several times but it never came.

Stayed in a double twin room and it really felt like a hostel. From the tiny little grungy shower capsule to the door hitting the bed when entering the space and public lounge right outside the door. It served the purpose of a place to crash while exploring Nelson but we were disappointed with several areas of disrepair including: There was a lot of black mold around the lower edge of the shower door. An active leak in the stairwell to the rooftop area. The furniture on rooftop was dirty and wet... just looked worn out. The hot tub was full of bugs... the jets were weak and it was barely even hot. The sauna, on the other hand was just fantastic! Front desk area is quite shabby and it generally seems under staffed. I don't think I would stay here again.
