Motel 6-Grand Rivers, KY

Room was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for luxury & frills, this might not be your spot. There is however a gas station/convenience store next door with a wide variety of breakfast, lunch & snack items. The property is minutes away from numerous eateries & attractions. If you want a clean, comfortable room, I would recommend this location. We definitely plan to stay here again.

We really didn’t have time to enjoy or look around … the room smelled clean when entering and it was literally just a spot to sleep for 6 hours on our way home we were exhausted from drive 10 hours and could finish our drive !! So it was perfect just for a place to sleep I would just recommend having your own sheet blanket and pillows . And we had our dogs so it was nice to not have to worry about a pet fee or if they would be allowed ….

I love the fact that they accommodated our needs. I loved the fact that they are pet friendly, thay is important to me.

There was no coffee in the room.

The first thing that you notice is that the grounds are covered in litter. When going to the front desk to check in, there were gnats swarming the poor girl working as she was eating her dinner. The room was huge, but completely bare. It's obvious the owner gave instructions to limit spending as much as possible. There were no wall hangings of any sort. It's hard to describe just how bare it was. It looks like a crappy first apartment. The TV was small and the remote barely worked. Anyway, going back to how the owner must have instructed no extra spending, there are no toiletries provided. Just a bar of soap. No shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, hair dryer, iron, anything that you would expect from any other hotel/motel in America. We had to go to the gas station next door in the morning. Also, we found a dead bug when we got into bed. We would definitely not recommend.

The staff is great. Responsive. Friendly. Safe, well lit. Food options. Definitely communicate any needs and they will work with you.

I needed a place that allowed my dogs. The staff was kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. They gave me a room on the ground floor as I requested. Most likely stay there again if needed.

We always like Motel6 for their affordable, simple, clean and non-carpeted room (carpets are just GROSS!!), as well as their open-door policy for pets. This location is a great go-to for the LBL area and its easy access to Grand Rivers. There are 15 miles of maintained hiking and biking trails linked right at the back of the parking lot. Owners are always very friendly and accommodating.

Yes, thus is a Motel 6, but is one of the cleanest and most responsive hotels I have stayed at. I worked nights while staying here (for over a month), and not once was I woken up by someone knocking on the door. They worked with me to clean the room on my schedule, and I was able to stay rested and alert for my job. Would definitely recommend.

Good price. Easy check-in, room/bed clean. One towel had some stains. GREAT water pressure on shower. Floor seemed “slick”, but was clean. Would stay again.

Outside of building was quite presentable. There is a lot to work with there. However the lobby was a disaster. Just open floor and a table in center with four chairs. No other furniture. Very uninviting. Needs a LOT of work. The inside was a different story. I was confronted with a sink full of dirty water. Fixed it. Obviously the prior occupant and possibly staff couldn’t fix the broken sink plug. It gets worse! Towels were badly stained and ratty. I think they were clean but shouldn’t have been used. Should throw them away. Bedding was stained but I think they were clean. Stain in mid-bed region. Who knows what? Suggest new bedding or more thorough washing. Cigarette burn in bedspread. Suggest replace bedspreads. Dust balls all over room. Suggest thorough vacuuming. Not a stitch of art or pictures on walls. One wall painted hideous green and other walls old white paint that hadn’t been washed in years. Suggest a thorough paint job and some interior design to raise to appropriate standards. Toilet seat was too small for the bowl, so you could see bowl top below seat and had to sit partially on the bowl and the seat. Suggest replacing toilet seat with proper sized seat. The furniture was old and chipped and was a hodge podge. Owner obviously not keeping up on FFE expense. This hotel is hidden from the Highway with low visibility. Needs major investment to bring up to standard. Was surprised by 7 rating in Expedia.

Clean room. Comfortable beds . Clean bathroom

Room was dirty, had dead bugs all over the bed. The AC didn't work and the smoke detector was hanging out of ceiling. The room keys had to reactivated after each use.

Absolutely the most disgusting hotel room I’ve ever seen. We had to get a refund and find another hotel. Urine on the mattress, bugs in the room, black mold in the bathroom and a FILTHY shower, holes in the sheets. Just horrible!

I had bugs crawling on me in the bed within 15 mins of laying down.. there were crumbs in the bed initially and everything was stained.. floors were dirty and there were cob webs everywhere.. food smeared on the bed sheet.. not cleaned

Floors were filthy.. my socks were black. Old chips and chip lids beside bed. Dead flies all over. Had a nonsmoking room with cigarette burns all over the blankets.

There was no furniture except for the bed and nightstand. Moldy shower and dirty gray towels. Nasty sticky floor. Stay away!!

The directions take you down a road that isn’t even named right. It’s hard to see the hotel. The bed is awful and you will need your own pillows because they are so flat you’ll have a neck ache. The bedspread has cigarette holes all in it. The floors are so dirty my I had to wash my feet and wear socks. The check in personal was friendly and helped me with directions to the room and was curious.

Great room size

We stayed one night at Motel 6. looks a little old from outside, but our room was very clean. Was largest motel room we have had. King bed, large shower. Only problem we had was there was only one towel, had to go to desk for another. Check in clerk Abvi went above and beyond to make sure we had a good room. If in Grand River again I would stay here again.

Room was fairly clean. Front desk welcoming. Challenged with heating due to presets. Unable to change. Amenities few as this is budget conscious. Overall good value for price.

Nice large,clean room. Room was great for the price. Nothing fancy, but we just needed a place to sleep/shower.

All was good but room had a musky odor

We were on a trip to fish Kentucky Lake. The man who checked us in was wonderful. He showed me a couple rooms before checking in which was kind. I had prepaid and regrettably used 245.00 in rewards points. Once in the room we saw spray on the wall that needed cleaned. The mini fridge leaked so the floor around it was wet and my damp socks turned black. The bed was AWFUL, we both rolled to the middle and it kept sliding off its foundation We went to Walmart for mop and wipes to clean wall and the mop floor. We requested no maid service but I stayed back a few days while he fished and twice a person came in the room and woke me. The ice machine didn’t work so we had to pay 9.00 while there for bags of ice. The property had trash all over it. The worst thing was our first night we’d unpacked the boat into the truck but left the net strapped in the boat and someone stole it. The man in the office was kind and checked the security cameras but the boat and truck were out of range, we took everything in our room at night from then on. We were supposed to stay until Friday but left Thursday morning. No one was in the office so I left the key in the room. Overall the office staff was awesome but room and amenities were bad. The bed was AWFUL. The sheets were clean but had stains. The blanket and duvet cover had holes and stains. I was very disappointed that I wasted my rewards points here.

It was a VERY large room with a King bed. Had plenty of room, was clean and the staff was excellent.

1st impression, not so good. Some hiccups getting checked in and no thought given to ensure room was ‘pleasant’ on arrival. Entered our room and it was HOT. I would guess somewhere around 80F or higher. We decided to stick it out, turned on air, plugged refrigerator into wall outlet and turned it on. Unpacked and started getting ready to end the day. Room temperature came down, the A/C unit worked great and the room became very comfortable. I adjusted window curtain to minimize light intrusion. The bathroom had updated toilet,sink and shower. The ‘hot’ water was excellent/perfect. The room was open and large/excellent. The room also had microwave and kitchenette counter with sink. I rate this ‘stay’ as a ‘8’ out of 10. With a little more effort and TLC this facility could really be special. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. He ensured I knew that He was there to help with any issue. Most importantly, the bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Better pillows, a few more towels and this place could be a 10.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but the room we were given has a view of the stairs & a broken window. Other than that it's okay

The main two things i would like to see is someone at the front desk for checking in and checking out. This is the first person you see as well as the last person you see when you depart. Instead, I had to go back to my car to get my phone to call a number at check in for him to come to the front desk. This was late afternoon, not late at night. I was given an obviously used key card cover with door key. That was gross! When I checked out, the same think occurred. I called and he told me I could just leave my key on the desk on the phone. That does not represent appreciation of your hotel guests at all! Secondly, have a grab and go breakfast would be great. Having coffee ONLY from 0600am to 1100am for your guests knowing there is nothing close around wouldve been good to know so we could've brought our own coffee pot. These things take away from the other positive aspects of your hotel.

Took about 30 min to get anyone to check us in. They leave 3 phone numbers to call when you arrive then you play phone tag til someone shows up to let you in. Beds super uncomfortable.

We have stayed here many times & everyone had been great. The last time we stayed here the fitted sheet was dirty. We slept with the top sheet over it. The next morning I notified the staff upon departure thinking I was doing them a favor by letting them know the sheets may not have been washed. The next day the owner/manager called me & was very rude. He threatened me about leaving a bad review which I would not have done if he hadn't threatened me. I'm disappointed this hotel will no longer be an option for us to stay. The amenities are not great but okay for the price.

There was a 75$ deposit required at check in - this needs to be told to customers

We are vendors at the Grand River fall craft show and have stayed here the past 2 years. We feel very safe and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. The man at the front desk, which I assume is the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful and wants your stay to be a good one.

Super convenient location near the interstate. We stayed here as a halfway point on the way to the solar eclipse. The room was clean and spacious and front desk was kind and helpful.

Easy on and off the interstate. Clean rooms. Parking was a bit of a free for all with a fishing tournament pending and guests were the noisiest part. I didn't hear the interstate, just banging doors.

The desk clerk was friendly, professional and informative. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Also close to Ky Lake and good food.
